AMAZING, beautiful, awesome! I hope we can see Eifman Ballet in Chicago soon again. I am waiting for it.
Every part was masterpiece by itself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The artistry of the dancers was fabulous. Very interesting choreography which was relevant to the story. The sets and lighting added to the drama and flow of the story. A must see.
I've always been a dancer and a fan of the classical ballet. But the Eifman was a truely unique and unforgettable experience. I was at first disappointed none of the dancers were featured on pointe, but after seeing choreography and reading the synopsis I realized artistically that that would've been the last thing to do. Rodin is a dark, stunning portrayal of not only Rodin's life, but his muse's, Camille's, too. Her madness evolves throughout the piece, and it is a spectacular evolution of events. I highly suggest reading the full notes & synopsis In the Playbill before viewing. If you have a chance to see this I HIGHLY reccomend going!!
This was my first ballet and I was overwhelmed at the emotion and story the Eifman troop was able to convey with their performance. Not to mention their ability to portray sculpting and sculpture in movement. Im not sure any other ballet will ever live up to this one in my eyes! My only complaint would be with the audience, they were walking out as the performers were still taking their bows. It was so horribly horribly rude and I was stunned that swarming the doors to catch the first cab or get to the car 5 minutes earlier was more important than honoring this talented troop of hard working dancers and the talented Mr. Eifman. Where are your manners people?-its not a football game-show some class and civility. Ok Im done now.
Would have helped if usher gave us a program. Although we know Rodin's work I was lost in the first act til I read the program at interval
All of it was amazing...and I am not even a real ballet fan. The bodies. The set. The music. I called up a bunch of friends after I went and encouraged all of them to cancel their plans - whatever they may be - so they could go either Saturday or Sunday. It was an unexpected pleasure.
Eifman Ballet is amazing show with great music and dancers.
Elegant, artistic vision of lovely. Go out of your way to see this show before it leaves. It's unlike anything you have ever seen. The mind behind the show's vision sculpts dancers into famous Rodin sculptures set in a heartbreaking and individual unwinding story. It leaves you in a state of wonder and breathless.
