by GreatPlainsTraveler on 5/11/15Auditorium Theatre - ChicagoI travelled to Chicago specifically to attend this event. I am reading the book "Tender is the Night" by F Scott Fitzgerald, and I can honestly say the story was brought to life through dance. In fact, the emotions that are hard to define by reading the book are made clear through the performance of the dancers. I love ballet and this performance showed ballet not quite in the traditional sense. The athleticism of the dancers combined with the grace of ballet showed movement at its best. I am happy I was able to attend this event.

by SM12wert on 4/28/15Sony Centre for the Performing Arts - TorontoDidn't know what to expect, but loved every second of it! Great performance, music, everything... Venue good as well.. Had tickets far from stage, but didn't feel that we were missing out anything. However, not sure if would take kids to this performance.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Anna Karenina
by DrWhoLady on 4/27/15Sony Centre for the Performing Arts - TorontoMesmerizing, tremendously engrossing and breathtaking. I have seen other productions of this ballet. This one stood out for the sheer athleticism and grace of the dancers. The choreography was interesting and extremely difficult. Although it did not have the typical pas de deux, de trois type moments where the dancers spin around the floor, the beauty and drama of the dances and dancers shone through. The woman who played Anna was onstage through 90% of the ballet, only leaving to change costumes. The partnering was superb, both technically brilliant and often sexy. I would have liked to see the other Anna and company perform as well. Highly recommended. I would see this ballet company again in a heartbeat.

Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 5/21/13Auditorium Theatre - Chicago We absolutely loved the ballet. Eifman Ballet of St. Petersburg is our favorite ballet troupe and we look forward to their return to Chicago. The two-act ballet "Rodin" was touching, beautifully staged and danced, -- a work of genius. Just awesome!!!
Rating: 5 out of 5 It was all I expected and MUCH MORE
by chita48 on 5/21/13Auditorium Theatre - ChicagoEvery performance of Eifman's ballet company is an unforgettable event in my life which I love and cherish and come back to in my thoughts for the years to come. Ballet Rodin is another masterpiece of the great master and the company of uniquely talented and soulful dancers. I am not very good with words and cannot describe my feelings. But if I only could it would probably be pages and pages of highest appraisals.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Absolutely Magnificent!
by Charms1 on 5/20/13Auditorium Theatre - ChicagoThe performers are spot on with every move, flow, and held position. They are clearly masters of ballet, and I daresay of acrobatic modern dance as well. The tension that they hold in long poses, while exhibiting relaxed upper extremities is baffling. The story line, the choreography, the performers...the performance is worthy of greater praise than I can articulate. Even days after having seen the performance, I am still moved and amazed by it. Beautiful, erotic, emotional spectacular...absolutely amazing!
