About

Since founding legendary alt-rock band Pearl Jam in 1990, Eddie Vedder has earned international recognition as a powerful vocalist and skilled guitar player, landing at No. 7 spot of Rolling Stone’s Best Lead Vocalists of All Time. Ticket buyers are often stunned by his performance style, which includes precise guitar solos and introductory lead-ins to many of his most famous songs, giving audience members more than just a music show, but a lesson in the history of both Vedder and his collaborators. He also features many different styles of songs. Even though he is most famous for his power ballads, audience members still get an eclectic array of songs from his concert catalogue. In May of 2011, Vedder released his second solo studio album, entitled "Ukulele Songs," which featured a collection of covers performed by Vedder on the Ukulele. Its major single, "Longing to Believe," launched the album to acclaim shortly after its release.

Vedder is most well-known for his work in Pearl Jam, particularly with albums like "Ten," which rose to No. 207 of Rolling Stone’s list for Top 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. During his time with Pearl Jam, Vedder received numerous nominations for Grammys, as well as a Golden Globe award for Best Original Song in 2008 for his single, "Guaranteed," from "Into the Wild." Since his beginnings in the 1980s, Eddie Vedder has become a household name for many rock enthusiasts and is known as one of the most influential people in the music business. He's also considered one of the most influential people in the philanthropy field, particularly with his winning of the 2007 Environmentalist of the Year award from SIMA Waterman’s Honorees.

    He's a God

by EmmieLeah on 7/15/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Eddie Vedder is one of my all-time favorite musicians! Being able to see him play solo was perhaps one of the best concerts I've been able to attend. He played a small, acoustic set and all was wonderful. He made a few mistakes, which just goes to prove he's still human. I saw him on the second night of this tour after he had breaked for 6 months- so a few mistakes were understandable. Eddie's voice is just amazing and carried well through the small theater he was playing in- I was in the back of the balcony and had no trouble hearing any of the muic. I highly reccommend this tour to anyone who is a hugh Eddie Vedder fan, and is looking for a nice, acoustic, laid- back set.

Overall great show. Opening artist was a little weird. Eddie can hold everyones attention all night with just a guitar and some well played music.

    Eddie Vedder Rocked!

by feffa80 on 7/15/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Eddie Vedder put on an amazing solo show in Albany...I am a long time PJ fan and love Ed as a solo artist as well. Only complaint is that some of the other fans seemed to not realize it was a CONCERT, very "stuffy"...and I would have liked to hear Ed do some other covers and less heard solo material. That being said, I would see him over and over again!! :)

    Eddie was in the wild

by linkman on 7/15/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Eddie was a little more tame from the last time I went to see him perform, but was still a memorable show! I would definitely go back for a second helping. Keep rocking Eddie!

    Eddie Vedder is awesome!

by surfergirl28 on 7/15/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

The show was fantastic! He was in good voice, and the acoustics in the theater were very good. There were a couple of times he forgot the lyrics, but isn't that the joy of a live show--mistakes and all? He told a couple of stories while catching his breath between songs, which made the event more personal. He ended the show with "Hard Sun," which was a perfect way to send us off into the night. The staff at the Palace were great, very enthusiastic. Liam Finn was a great opener! For the most part, the crowd was great--a few meatheads, but you can find them at any show. Highly recommend seeing Eddie if you get the chance.

    Eddie Vedder buzzed and killed!

by DrE2009 on 7/14/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Though his spoken voice hinted at enjoying a cocktail (or two or too many), his singing was hypnotic. It felt like he was singing to the individuals in the audience-there was no pretense, no flash, no big stage performance. This was intimate and meaningful! He slayed the audience!

    Excellent!

by Columbo56 on 7/14/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

"Into the Wild" was an incredible film with a great message and Vedders soundtrack really was the icing on the cake, You could feel every emotion throughout the film in his songs! Scenes from the movie kept popping into my head during the show!!!. The Palace is a great venue, small and you can really feel the music from about any seat in the house, except for the nosebleed seats! Overall awesome experience!

    Eddie Rocks!

by KLOGO on 7/14/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

The Eddie Vedder concert was wonderful! The venue was great for this type of show. A smaller setting was a great idea for a more intimate show with Eddie! He was really down to earth and spoke about local places that he had visited while on starting his tour in NY! Great performance!

An incredible show, considering I had some less than stellar seats... Even though Eddie was still a little rusty, his performance was world class.

    Eddie Vedder won me over

by Queendode on 7/14/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

First, the Palace is an amazing venue for a concert. It was the perfect volume and the accoustics were perfect. Eddie Vedder was spectacular. I had never seen him live before and would go back in a heartbeat. I can't get his music out of my mind.

    Eddie was incredible as usual

by OliveMan1 on 7/14/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

Eddie and Liam Finn at the Palace Theater in Albany was incredible. Eddie's set list didn't disappoint and he was in excellent form. His usual crowd interaction and banter, nevering knowing what you're going to get, is what makes his solo shows so interesting. He shares just enough that you know he's a cool dude as well as an incredible musician. Liam Finn was also awesome and really rocked the house. Definitely worth the drive up and back same day and Albany and the Palace are a great venue. Totally enjoyed it all. The Palace with its ornateness, comfy seats and 4 beer limit were big bonuses.

    Eddie Vedder was amazing!

by VedderGirl77 on 7/14/09Palace Theatre Albany - Albany

As a huge Pearl Jam fan it was a real treat to be able to see Eddie Vedder on his solo tour. He performed all the songs from his solo album which is the soundtrack to the movie "Into The Wild" along with several cover songs such as Bruce Springsteen's Mr. State Trooper, The Beatles "You've Got to Hide your Love Away" (which turned into an audience sing along) and Bob Dylan's Girl from the North Country and Fovever Young. He also played several Pearl Jam songs such as I am Mine, Porch, Lukin and Around the Bend.
