About

Since founding legendary alt-rock band Pearl Jam in 1990, Eddie Vedder has earned international recognition as a powerful vocalist and skilled guitar player, landing at No. 7 spot of Rolling Stone’s Best Lead Vocalists of All Time. Ticket buyers are often stunned by his performance style, which includes precise guitar solos and introductory lead-ins to many of his most famous songs, giving audience members more than just a music show, but a lesson in the history of both Vedder and his collaborators. He also features many different styles of songs. Even though he is most famous for his power ballads, audience members still get an eclectic array of songs from his concert catalogue. In May of 2011, Vedder released his second solo studio album, entitled "Ukulele Songs," which featured a collection of covers performed by Vedder on the Ukulele. Its major single, "Longing to Believe," launched the album to acclaim shortly after its release.

Vedder is most well-known for his work in Pearl Jam, particularly with albums like "Ten," which rose to No. 207 of Rolling Stone’s list for Top 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. During his time with Pearl Jam, Vedder received numerous nominations for Grammys, as well as a Golden Globe award for Best Original Song in 2008 for his single, "Guaranteed," from "Into the Wild." Since his beginnings in the 1980s, Eddie Vedder has become a household name for many rock enthusiasts and is known as one of the most influential people in the music business. He's also considered one of the most influential people in the philanthropy field, particularly with his winning of the 2007 Environmentalist of the Year award from SIMA Waterman’s Honorees.

Eddie Vedder Solo Tour Intimate & Awesome

by The2ofUs on 7/15/09Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

Unfortunately we had tix for Memphis but didn't make it. Didn't realize it was Father's Day weekend when we purchased. One Dad left, he comes 1st. However, we made both shows in ATL. Vantage point from upper left mezzanine 1st night & lower orchestra 2nd. Eddie Vedder made the crowd feel relaxed and intimate with his discussions of songs and experiences. His voice resonated in the the Cobb Theatre. Playing acoustic and electric while remaining human in his performance. Many would tend to believe he forgets his lyrics. I have a tendency to believe he does it on purpose to show he is human and it's okay to make mistakes. I would highly recommend anyone attending his solo shows. Well worth the experience.

    Vedder played the Lyric perfectly

by pjfan73 on 7/15/09Lyric Opera House - Baltimore

This was my second show in Baltimore and Eddie did not disappoint. The acoustics of the Lyric were great. The box seats I upgraded too, were nice, except the jerk who thought we were there to listen to his conversation, luckily he left very early. This show had it's moments, especially with Chris McCandless' sister in attendance, Eddie had to "watch" his language since she had her child. Eddie did the core set with the Into The Wild Soundtrack. But he then mixed it up from the previous night with the rarities he pulled out. I just wish he would have been able to complete "Arc" at Sunday's show. This was my 4th time seeing Mr. Vedder and I have yet to leave a show disappointed. On top of it I met a couple that are just as crazy as I am when it comes to Pearl Jam that live close to me. So if Eddie ever tours solo again, I highly recommend seeing one of his shows. Especially if it is in the Lyric Opera House, great venue.

Eddie Vedder was the Concert of 2009

by teachkee on 7/15/09Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

The night was intimate, not rowdy, and absolutely impressive. Eddie Vedder was completely into the crowd and talking about the origin of the songs.

By the time it reaches the front...

by michellemarcel on 7/15/09Orpheum Theatre Memphis - Memphis

A smooth, mellow show enjoyed by all (I'm hoping, ha!) Mr. Vedder was entertaining, engaging and charming. Working through hits and lesser known songs, no one was let down. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would definitely love to catch him again. Opening act, Liam Finn, was also very entertaining. I'd never heard of him before, but now I will definitely be purchasing his music. The only thing that bugged me about the show... the constant glow of cell phone screens and the flashing of cameras. I could get past the camera flashes as they were sporadic; but constantly having a tiny glowing light in my direct line of vision, in my peripherals, and pretty everywhere else took a bit away from the show.

Eddie Vedder, Thank You For A Great Show

by Pugsley on 7/15/09Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

My family has been a Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder fan always, so we were thrilled to get a chance to see Mr. Vedder in such an intimate setting as the Ryman. We knew he preferred a quiet audience which was exactly what we wanted as well. As he preformed, at certain times he would tell stories which were touching, funny and insightful. I love the program which highlighted situations in the world that we all need to get involved in. We walked away from the show even bigger fans than when we entered. Thank you, Eddie and may you continue to be one of the most influential activists we need so desperately these days.

    Eddie Vedder in Baltimore

by Younggun on 7/15/09Lyric Opera House - Baltimore

Absolutely fantastic show!!! Eddie's solo Into the Wild Album is brilliant and even better live. He also played an assortment of other solo creations, pearl jam songs, and covers. Liam Finn, the opener, was also great. I highly recomend seeing either of these guys when they tour.

    Vedder is awesome

    by Core000 on 7/15/09Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

The acoustics and sound of the venue were amazing!! The whole crowed was so into it. I've been a PJ fan since college. It's nice to see that EV has evolved nicely out of the grunge scene. He sang some of the great songs from 'Into the Wild'. Must see *************************

    Eddie is captivating!

by bean22 on 7/15/09Lyric Opera House - Baltimore

I've seen Pearl Jam many times and they are an amazing show. But, seeing Eddie Vedder all alone on a stage with just a couple of guitars is by far the best show I've ever seen. He draws you in and you just can't help but relax and listen to his amazing voice.

    Eddie as always was amazing

by g4tttgfgsfdgr3r3wrtf on 7/15/09Lyric Opera House - Baltimore

The setlist was a beautiful blend of his own stuff, covers and various Pearl Jam. He is witty and fun to converse with, as he did in this remarkably intimate engagement.
