The race was rained out and the makeup race was on a weekday and we could not attend. Very disappointed.

About
What is EchoPark Speedway?
Hampton, Georgia, is home to one of the most iconic tracks in stock car racing and hosts two NASCAR race weekends each year. EchoPark Speedway has been in operation since 1960, and its 1.54 mile quad-oval track has long been known as one of the fastest in motorsports. EchoPark Speedway also hosts Monster Jam, car shows, the Georgia State Fair, local High School Graduations and hundreds of other events throughout the year.
EchoPark Speedway History
Ground was broken in 1958 for what was originally known as Atlanta International Raceway, opening on July 31, 1960, with Fireball Roberts winning the inaugural Dixie 300. From 1960 until 2011, the Speedway was home to two annual NASCAR events: the Atlanta 500 in the spring, and the Dixie 500 in the fall. In 1990, Speedway Motorsports Inc. bought the track, adding condominiums to the course in 1994 and almost completely rebuilding the track in 1997.
Some of the most iconic moments in NASCAR history have taken place at the Speedway. Before the advent of the Race to the Cup, EPS was often the last stop on what is now known as the NASCAR Cup circuit, leading to some incredible finishes to the season. The 1992 Hooters 500 featured Richard Petty's final NASCAR race, Jeff Gordon's NASCAR debut, and a legendary ending in which Bill Elliott won the race, but Alan Kulwicki won the Winston Cup title.

The rescheduling of the race cost me the ticket price for two. The event was rescheduled on the following Tuesday and I had to fly back to the midwest for work. I did watch the reruns for free though.
Taking Advanage of People
by JJFriends on 9/8/11Atlanta Motor Speedway - HamptonRating: 3 out of 5The event was rain out and didn't reset to a nother Saturday Night. They did it on Tuesday noon time and I lost $360.00 of ticket money and hotels cost with travel.
SUCKED
by GBABY1982 on 9/8/11Atlanta Motor Speedway - HamptonRating: 1 out of 5It rained Sunday so the race was cancelled till Tuesday when I had to work so I'm out $225!!!!! This stinks!
Horrible
by JRFAN888888888 on 9/8/11Atlanta Motor Speedway - HamptonRating: 1 out of 5I have gone to many sprint cup races at atlanta motor speedway. Due to conditions uncontrolable to anyone the race was moved to tuesday. About 98% of the fans that paid their hard earned money to see the race could not see it because it was moved out an extra 2 days. I am not blaming anyone because its just nature. I sure hope that the track will give some kind of discount or incentive to people who bought tickets to this years race for the race next year. I love this race and speedway but if they do not make some sort of deal with ticket holders from this year then i may not come back due to the uncertanty of the weather condidtions and the unwillingness to help out the fans.
Watching Race from Home!
by HomeboundMassachusetts on 9/8/11Atlanta Motor Speedway - HamptonRating: 3 out of 5Rain killed the weekend for me. Did attend Sunday but mother nature had other plans. I had allowed an extra day Monday in travel plans but because of a Tuesday race- needed to head back to New England. Of the 6 tickets, I was able to give 2 away to friends that could attend Tuesday but still have 4 to add to my collection. What would be great of Atlanta Speedway is a way to offset our loss tickets/travel. One quick thought would be for next years race, discounted tickets for main race or free tickets for Nationwide or Truck race with purchasse of Cup tickets. Since thoses races are not normally sold out, it would cost nothing for Atlanta Speedway to give out tickets to these events to those who could not use tickets for the delayes race. Also may make money from vendor sales and make the attendence look better for TV coverage. Did make it home to watch the last half of the race!!!

Since it was a rescheduled race we were able to sit in the Championship Grandstand seats. Could not ask for a better place to sit and watch the race. Very jealous of the people that can afford to sit in that area.

Truck Racing
by Aswip on 9/7/11Atlanta Motor Speedway - HamptonRating: 5 out of 5I have always enjoyed the truck racing where ever they race especially in Atlanta. Those guys still race hard and its not just for the money because the purses are not that great. Its like a dirt track or a short track local show and its usually exciting!

Long time Nascar TV fan First time attending race . Suggest highlighting the need for ear protection..

It was exciting and met my expectations. The operation was well-maintained. However, since the racing track and seats are not covered by a roof and open to the sky, lots of people are smoking while they sit on their seats. Seating next to smoking people would be terrible if you don't smoke and you bring your children to the race.
