We had such a fun time at the show. Energetic and lively
A wonderful journey thru music. It had comedy, wonderful vocals, exciting dancing everything you want. James brown was funny and moved like him, Michael Jackson had his movements down, one lady had such strong vocals it made u want to get up and Applaud. The drumming the real instruments WOW so much talent. So refreshing to see so much talent. You do ur thing Drumline
My Kids and Husband loved the show, no one really knew what to expect we where pleasantly surprised at the educational and inspiring performance! Thank You
I enjoyed the experience. I think it is a great way to bridge a cultural gap and educate the general public about the contributions and perks of the HBCU experience. I personally have spent enough time around Jackson State and Grambling to know that the halftime shows at HBCU games is a life experience. The Sonic Boom and Human Jukebox know how to get people on their feet during halftime. I did not like the long drawn out speech at intermission, but I did love the interaction with the audience and getting the crowd involved because that’s a big part of the experience
I took my grandson (17) to this!! Just loved everything about it!! Jean
This show was fun and entertaining. I only gave 4 stars, because I thought there would be more DRUMS! It was much more of a marching band experience, rather than a "Drumline." The intermission was way too long - guy talked too much!!! Otherwise, it was great!
The musicians were VERY talented and the show content was so well done but we couldn't stay past intermission- it was soooooo LOUD. We were plugging our ears at one point and could still hear it plain as day. You will enjoy this show with earmuffs or headphones on...
This high energy show with a brass band, drummers, and dancers from HBCUs is very entertaining for the whole family!
This was an interesting mix of music from the movie and how they tied in a history of drumming. The history of music was also well done, especially the segments about Motown and Big Bands. The brass band and various drummers were outstanding and they gave the performance a feel of a marching band...brassy and loud! Definitely, a must-see production if you saw the movie.
My 16 year old son and I LOVED every minute of the show. My son is a trombone player in band and he enjoyed seeing a fun interactive way to perform!
The show itself was entertaining. However, the title is very misleading. With the title drumline you expect to have a show mostly consisting of...well a drumline. There was only 1 song/act that was an actual drumline as most people define it and it was not very long. Aside from that there were a few snare drum pieces. Mostly though, it was a brass performance with trombones, trumpets, and other brass instruments. (Though the tubist was hilarious!) It was also a musical history lesson. I think had this show been properly messaged to reflect that I would have given it a better rating. However, messaged as "drumline" it was disappointing to have so little actual drumline. I get you can't have 2 hours of drumline but I would say this was 75% brass/singing and 25% drums. That said I appreciate the artisans who performed and the emphasis of the HBCU music culture which is a fun musical genre.
Me and 9 others came out to see the Marching Band and it was BEAUTIFUL!! Ill continue to support each and every time they come. I love the homage paid to HBCU’s!! Congrats and keep pushing for more awards!!
My fiance and I thought the show was very interesting and such a cool idea to bring to this platform. We were disappointed and confused a little by thr misleading title, Drumline Live, which suggests a live version of the movie already known and loved with the same name. The history of drumline, a celebration of beauty and sound, or something of the like wouldve better prepared the audience. Also personally I hate any show that asks me to get out of my seat and preform. I work and raise kids, Id like to sit and watch you and clap not attend a church service standing sitting dancing in a theater.
I took my daughter and mother to Drumline Live and all three generations thoroughly enjoyed the show. The performers are so talented. There was a variety within the show: drums, singers, dancers, comedy, and history. I highly recommend the show.
Very engaging, relatable and relevant to most families. The production group graciously spent time with the audience after the production and from my observation, it was loved. I wish more people could have seen it.
Wow, what a 5 star performance from some amazing performers. "ALL" of them. We all enjoyed the show, and the venue was the greatest. Miramar couldn't ask for a better mayor and Mrs. Mayor. :-) An awesome evening!
Awesome family experience....enjoyed the presentation and music
On Time, Professional, Full of Energy, Exciting, and everyone made Drumline come to life. My 80 year old mother had a clapping good time. 👍🏽👍🏽
All aspects of the event were great: venue, performances, vendors, etc. This was my first time attending and will definitely go again!
The entire production was smooth, exhilarating, and a perfect homage to our HCBU’s. Magnificent!!!
