About

Drew Lynch On Tour

“A comedian with a stutter” is how Drew Lynch describes himself on his popular YouTube channel, and that description is certainly accurate. But it’s also misleading, because Lynch is so much more.

His weekly videos feature the affable, earnest Lynch monologuing alongside his ever-patient service dog Stella, or Lynch and Stella rendered in colorful animation for their recurring “Therapy Dog” segments, or Lynch performing stand-up at clubs around the U.S. They regularly rack up tens of thousands of views, winning him legions of fans around the world.

More than making people laugh (the job description of every comedian ever), Lynch’s mission is unique. Yes, he’s a comedian with a stutter, and he often makes his condition the punchline of his jokes. But whether in his videos, on stage, or acting in film and TV, Lynch applies his comedic gifts to dispel stereotypes and convey a message of perseverance, open-mindedness, and positivity.

Lynch didn’t originally set out to inspire anyone — or to be a stand-up comedian, for that matter. Relying on his boyish good looks and stutter-free charisma, he left his native Indianapolis to attend performing-arts high school in Las Vegas and, after graduating, moved to Los Angeles with aspirations of becoming an actor.

While hustling for acting gigs in 2011, he was derailed by a freak sports accident. Fielding grounders for the Flappers Comedy Club softball team, he took a couple balls to the head and throat and woke up with a speech impediment that still afflicts him. Stand-up comedy provided release, as well as an eager audience.

But his biggest break came in 2015, when he came in second place in the 10th season of America’s Got Talent, receiving the rare and prestigious Golden Buzzer courtesy of fellow comedian Howie Mandel. Since then, Lynch has made his condition both a cornerstone and a sideshow of his comedy routines, establishing himself (and a prodigious YouTube presence) and taking his show across the U.S. and Canada.

    Gut Busting Funny

    by EGelsomino on 9/5/19

Drew was absolutely amazing. He was everything I expected and more. His 2 opening acts were also hilarious, and I enjoyed how all 3 of them had different styles so you essentially heard 3 different stand-up acts instead of repeating themes. I would definitely recommend seeing Drew if he comes to a town near you.

I loved Drew! He was so funny and really interactive with the audience which makes it feel more personal. He is great at story telling and I love that he laughs at his own jokes at times. I enjoy that its not 100% scripted and he is really good at going with the flow of the audience. Also, I LOVE his laugh. Makes everything better!! He's great!

by Ryan K on 6/3/19Buckhead Theatre presented by Cricket Wireless - Atlanta

From Drew's opener to the end of the show, i can honesty say that we thoroughly enjoyed every single moment. My date and I had to run to the restroom in the middle and even got called out by Drew! That was pretty hilarious and an amazing experience! I hope he comes back to Atlanta soon!!!!

    Tight seating, Drew was great

by GaPeach on 6/3/19Buckhead Theatre presented by Cricket Wireless - Atlanta

From the beginning- parking was easy. Parking deck right beside Buckhead Theatre ($20). Went thru security check. Venue seating was very tight. The seats were manually set up and way too close together. People need space to move their arms and to stand up and walk down the row if needed! The opening act started 15-20 minutes late. Not sure why but I always think that’s rude bc people paid money and were early or on time to see the show and the entertainer is making them wait. Drew was funny, of course, similar to what you see on his shows on Facebook / YouTube. Crowd interaction, hecklers that he puts in their place, etc etc. I appreciate Drew’s comedy bc he’s a lot “cleaner” than others. There are some things that are crass but for the most part - he knows that real humor doesn’t have to be vulgar. After the show he did a meet and greet down front with his service dog. We didn’t want to stand in line to meet him but just wanted to sit in our seats (the ones we paid for) and watch. The staff made everyone get up out of their seats immediately to either stand in line to meet him or leave altogether. They didn’t allow people to hang around unless you were in line to meet him. So then we moved to the back to stand and watch and again - they wouldn’t allow it. They were friendly about it and were probably “doing their job”, but I just thought that was odd. Outside of seating space and not being allowed to watch afterwards - the venue itself was nice. Concessions available, clean restrooms and cold comfortable temperature in the building.

I would absolutely see Drew Lynch again. My husband and I had the best time. I haven’t laughed that much in a while. So glad we went.

Drew was great. His opening acts a bit off kilter

by Goodsmods82 on 8/25/16The Grandview Lounge - Las Vegas

Drew Lynch gained fame from his time on America's Got Talent. I honestly got to know him one day stumbling upon his Youtube channel. He is known for his stutter and genuine personality on the stage. What I love am Drew's comedy is he is genuinely happy up there living a dream and this happiness is infectious. His opening acts unfortunately were hit and miss. I am someone who is a huge fan of female comedians, but the female he had open for him was clearly uncomfortable on stage. It took a while to bring the crowd back.
