About

Drew Carey is a stand-up comic turned actor and producer who had the distinction of having two hit shows simultaneously: the long-running comedy "The Drew Carey Show," which ran from 1995-2004, and the improv/sketch show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" on which he was host and a producer. He began his successful career as a comedian in April of 1986 at the Cleveland Comedy Club. One of his first big breaks was competing on "Star Search '88."
In 1991, Carey landed a spot on HBO's "14th Annual Young Comedians Special" and appeared on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson." Carey also had the opportunity to work with Bruce Helford, and their experience led the two of them to decide to co-create a series for Carey. Carey went on to star in his own comedy special for Showtime, "Drew Carey: Human Cartoon" and performed in Showtime's "Tenth Anniversary of the Montreal Comedy Festival."

    He knows the F*ck word

    by dakotabounder2 on 1/14/14Carolina Theatre - Durham

Terrible...all he kept saying was the f*ck word through out the show. I was very surprised of what he was saying about being the host of The Price is Right.

Drew Carey - He's done better

    by JDR642 on 1/14/14Carolina Theatre - Durham

This is the third time I've seen him over the years and it wasn't as funny as before. His performance seemed strained most of the time. There were a few good lines yet I think there are only so many comics that can continue to make an entire stand up about their penis.

Worth the trip in the cold!

by Misteracad on 11/28/13The Santander Performing Arts Center (Formerly Sovereign P.A.C) - Reading

As others have said, Drew's routine is a bit crude and includes frequent drops of the 'F' bomb, but if you don't mind that kind of humor, it is a great show. We made a mistake on which venue he was appearing at, and went to the wrong place. Once we realized our mistake and figured out where we needed to go, we had to walk multiple extra blocks in the freezing cold and wind to get there, but were happy we did. The show was worth the trip! Also worth mentioning is that Drew looks great since losing a lot of weight!

Great seats, great venue, great act. Drew was great, and so was his opener Phil Palisoul!

    Carey was awesome!

by EyedocLana on 11/27/13The Santander Performing Arts Center (Formerly Sovereign P.A.C) - Reading

Carey was funny. Not the funniest stand up act I have ever scene but he was very good. Wasn't sure what to expect, I only knew him from TPIR, Who's Line, and the Drew Carey show. Pretty cool to see his edgey side and get a glimpse into the real Drew Carey. Not the squeaky clean one scene mostly on TV.

    Drew Carey was very disappointing!!

by GTMan7 on 11/26/13The Santander Performing Arts Center (Formerly Sovereign P.A.C) - Reading

My girlfriend and I were very disappointed with Drew Carey. His act was overly vulgar and his humor was more of a criticism of situations rather than finding the funny side of things. I've been a fan of Drew Carey from his TV sitcom and Who's Line is it Anyway show but, seeing him live made me lose a lot of respect for him. Having grown up in South Philly, I'm far from being a prude. However, unless you like hearing the F-word used almost continuously in a non-funny context, don't waste your money on Drew Carey's stand-up comedy. Judging by the lack of laughter in the audience, his act wasn't funny.

    Funny night out

by Kathria on 11/14/13Wilbur Theatre - Boston

For those of you that know Drew Carey only from The Price Is Right, this may not be the show for you. However, if you know him from before, go to see him. He's funny, he's personable, he's relatable. He's a little out of step as a standup comedian, due to his daytime gig, but my husband and I still enjoyed it. He has a dirty mouth, so buyer beware. If you can handle some dirty jokes, you will enjoy this show.

This was funnier than I expected. I have never seen him do standup but I would come back and see him again in a heartbeat. I laughed from the moment he came out until the very end

    Drew Carey sucks

by Eulaeula on 11/11/13Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I was completely disappointed with Drew Carey. I could not stay for the whole act. He was not funny, clever or entertaining. His favorite word started with F. He wore it out. I am so sorry I went to see him and will make sure everyone knows it.

I was dissappointed that the last half of the show was talking about his penis. Then the show was abruptly over, no encore, etc

He was funny, but didn't need to say 'f....' every other word.

    Drew Carey - still funny!

by Anonymous on 10/26/13HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

I'm glad to see that Drew paid Des Moines a nice visit. There were certainly more older people than I expected because his content was definitely rated R. Drew Carey is still a funny guy, so don't let his recent Price is Right fame prevent you from going to see him. Besides, he actually makes fun of his role on the Price is Right and some of the funny people that he's come across on the show.

    Ehhhh

by iamomma on 10/25/13HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

I was so excited to see this show. I have been a fan of Drew Carey since long before The Price Is Right years and knew his comedy would be "adult content." Unfortunately, overall my husband and I were both bored. There were some funny parts but mostly it fell flat. The show was nowhere near sold out and we saw people leaving well before it was over. It's fun to say I saw him but wouldn't go again.

    Carey better than expected!

by Cyclone1 on 10/22/13HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

I went to this event at the last minute without high expectations. Both the warm up act and the headliner were great. If someone is easily offended, they wouldn't like this show but if not, will find it extremely funny. Going into the show I thought it would be a three star show but this was one of the better comedic performances I've seen. I would highly recommend it.

    Great time

We have loved Drew Carey's tv shows but had never seen him live or his comedy stand up. We were not disappointed. Incredibly funny, timely and just a good time. Thanks Drew!!

Drew is still in high School

by undisturbed on 10/22/13HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

Pretty fair comedy for a high school audience. The warm -up guy was totally lame and stupid. The Improv act was pretty good and may have been the high lite of the show. Carey did quite a bit of material on the Price is Right and that was probably funny to someone who watches the show. I don't, so it was not so funny. Really just an occasional laugh here and there. Kind of mediocre.
