About

Drake is hip-hop’s preeminent superstar. In less than a decade, the Canadian rapper has won five Grammy Awards, landed 11 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and in 2022 became the highest-selling singles artist in the history of the RIAA. Drake’s first three albums — Thank Me Later (2010), Take Care (2011) and Nothing Was the Same (2013) — were all critical successes, showcasing a pioneering sound that mixed catchy R&B hooks with heartfelt lyricism. His fourth album, Views (2016), held atop the Billboard 200 for 13 nonconsecutive weeks, smashing more records — including Drake becoming the most-streamed artist in Spotify history. That same year, he embarked on a co-headlining tour with Future that became the highest-grossing hip-hop tour of all time, grossing over $84 million across 56 dates.

    Drake was dead sexy!

by Ihartyou on 4/19/10Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Best concert I have ever been too! I thought his recording was good but he's even better live! He works the crowd and knows how to make all the ladies melt. I came all the way from Chicago for his show. It made me sad when he kept talking to all the ladies from Michigan that loved him when my love for him brought me all the way from Chicago! But doesn't matter, Id go to any concert of his. Hes my man!

by ELIJAHMYDUDE on 4/16/10Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

You can tell Drake works hard to make State, City, and each fan personally to feel his thanks. Hands down the best concert I've ever been to!

    Interesting..

by MarcyLou on 4/16/10Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

I honestly enjoyed myself at the concert. But the opening acts couldve been much better. But that's to be expected from a cheap concert. Drake didn't come out until 9:30. Smh. But, I did enjoy it. I would go to another one of his concerts. He kept the crowd interested and he also had a special guest Birdman, which was very unexpected. = ] I do applaud his realness and dedication to his music. I give 4 stars because it was very enjoyable and entertaining.

    Drake, FREE WEEZY

by MusicBlissQnA on 4/16/10Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

I just gotta say thank you to Drake for the show, it was a life changing experience, from the opening acts to Birdman making a guest appearance to Drakes uncanny ability to control the crowd from start to finish. over 6000 people cannot be wrong, Come Back Soon, because what you did was create art that we need to see more of.

Drake and K-OS shut that place down!!!

by KacheMonet on 4/16/10Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Wow, that was probably one of the best shows I've been to in all time. And I haven't been to a show in a while, and this was worth it! K-OS first performed and I have been a fan of him since 2002 and then when Drake came out, the place just lit up with joy and people were singing verbatim with him it was just so amazing it's kind of hard to describe in words. I had a good time and I hope Drake comes to Michigan again!

    A basic concert

by TigerintheD on 4/16/10Meadow Brook Music Festival - Rochester Hills

Although I'm a big Drake fan, his live performance leaves something to be desired. First off, you're in Detroit. If you are going to talk about local stuff - at least get some good intel. He kept talking about Hot 97 - although our local station is 97.9 - We call it 98. No one calls it Hot 97. No one. So that was a turn off. As a performer, he doesn't have a lot of stage presence. I'm not saying he has to dance and do back flips...We all know Drake can't really dance, but it would have been nice to at least see him rock with the beat. He performed his new stuff but I would have liked to see more off the mix tape. The big bonus was having Baby there to come out and do their song together and slide in a little "Gator Boots & Gucci Suits" into the night. Overall ti was an average concert. Of course, I think that Drake will improve his live performance over time but the next ticket I purchase for him will have to include another headliner. The crowd had so many kids and it was a turn off.

    BEST CONCERT I'VE BEEN TO.

by MaysBonds2425 on 4/15/10Michigan State University (MSU Auditorium) - East Lansing

I've been to many concerts...most notably my second favorite was Jay-Z at Eastern Michigan but this was hands down the best concert I've ever been to. His flow, his music, his words are unforgettable. I truly believe Drake will stand as one of the greatest when it's all said and done. But back to the show it was spectacular...he really did a nice job of transitioning from song to song and is actually a really funny guy. Bottom line: you HAVE to go see him if you're a fan...and if you're not a fan...become one...because this guy is real.

    Drake is fresh, new talent

by HankMardukas on 4/14/10Bryce Jordan Center - University Park

The concert was amazing. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because I reserve that for the Jay Z concert. His backdrop alone was worth the 5 stars. Drake didnt have one, but he was still hot and every song was a hit. Even his performance on his new, unreleased songs were amazing. He connects with the crowd very well too. Definitely a must see.

    DRAKE WAS SUCCESSFUL!

by Laylaaa on 4/13/10Bryce Jordan Center - University Park

I may be just bias because I love Drake, but he put on a really great show! For someone who is featured on many other artist's songs, he does a great job incorporating his part into the concert. & not that I'm a big fan of Lil Wayne, but he gave a quick shout-out to him which drove the audience crazzy!! I was hoping for a special guest or something, but it was just him...which was fine by me either way!! =)

I enjoyed the concert but I believe it should have provided more non Drake entertainment. The other people who performed were very well known, in other words they were whack. It would have been better if other people had opened the show for him.
