    Great fun and amazing puppets

by Mary on 2/23/23Ames Center - Burnsville

I had not expected this show to be so fun. My kids (who were probably a touch old for this show), were bummed not to be chosen to come on the stage. Heck I kinda wanted to be chosen just to be able to see the puppets up close. Not only were the puppet designs amazing, but the vocalizations and facial expressions made them feel real. The main actor did an outstanding job of playing an upbeat, but timid, nerd in the world of heroes. I recommend going, even if you don't have kids.

    Kids loved it

by A mom on 2/23/23Mayo Civic Center Auditorium - Rochester

1st kids loved it, so thats all that matters. However as an adult i have a few suggestions. To start, too big of a venue. Hard to hear, felt too open. The puppeteers should be blacked out, not multi-colored, they were distracting from the performance. Lastly as a dental professional the voice you gave the tooth fairy was a horrible idea. Kids around us and my kids covered their ears. That shrilly evil sounding voice was a bad call. But again, overall my kids enjoyed it so that was all that mattered.

    DnD Mom review

    by K. on 2/22/23

My 6 year old loved it and just watching his face as each creature came out made it worth it. As DnD players, both my husband and i loved the story line! I saw some people had trouble with understanding the main charecter, but we had no problems with it. The audio was great. The puppeteers were top notch and also some great voice actors. I just wish every kid could have a special close up.

    great for five year olds!

by cindym on 2/21/23Mayo Civic Center Auditorium - Rochester

aside from having our seats changed without our approval by mayo civic center venue, the show was spectacular! our grandsons absolutely lived it. it was an hour and a half; perfect length for holding little guys’ attention. the minions were great too!

Great puppets, dull story and awful sound quality

by Ac on 2/20/23Mayo Civic Center Auditorium - Rochester

The puppets were great and puppeteers skillful. The sound was awful and could not understand most of the dialogue. I check w friends sitting in other areas and they had the same issue. The story was pretty dull. And audience participation just made it worse. Kids are smart. Don’t underestimate them.

    Impecable

by Tiff on 2/20/23Mayo Civic Center Auditorium - Rochester

I feel extremely lucky to have seen this amazing performace. My son was in awe the whole time and begged to see a part 2. There was never a dull moment and plenty of laughs. I will be seeing them again if they ever come back. Incredible perfermance and a great way to incorporate the crowd in the show.

    Beasts are amazing

by Aunt on 2/20/23Mayo Civic Center Auditorium - Rochester

The puppets are amazing, top notch, can't be beat. The main character was quite difficult to understand. I don't quite understand the colors worn by the puppeteers. I thought black or a dark grey would have been even less noticeable/distracting. I thought the puppeteers were also outstanding.

    Excellent

by Gramadj on 2/13/23Five Flags Center - Dubuque

The program was designed for younger children, I feel. I was with 7 year olds and it took them about 1/3 through before they realized the beasts had people inside. They were enthralled with the story. It was well worth the cost of the tickets.

Amazing puppets, a shame there's no close-up opportunity

by Abbie on 2/8/23Paramount Theatre - Anderson

A great show! Dialogue was a bit fast for little kids to catch it all (especially with the Continental accent employed by the lead actor..that is an adjustment for youngsters in the US), but the stage tech team kept up with the fast pace just fine. Puppets were astounding. My little guys were disappointed not to have the chance to see them a bit closer (we sat in front end of balcony) after the show--maybe even just a peek at the little dragon, George, in a post-curtain hello on stage or near the lobby. I wish I had known that some audience interactions may happen during the show itself--we would have fought for closer tickets on the floor so they'd have a chance to get called up.

    The kids liked it

by Llamamama on 2/4/23Paramount Theatre - Anderson

I took 3 kids (ages 11-6) and they enjoyed it. They did a good job engaging the audience. I felt like I was overpaid for it. It was basically a puppet show.

    Entertaining

by Eric65 on 1/30/23Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

This was a wonderful experience for the kids. The bigger than life puppets were awesome with great detail. Just wish the puppeteers wore clothes (maybe all black) that made them less conspicuous, at times it diminished the illusion they were trying to create. With that being said, I’d still totally recommend it to families.

    Well it was ok

by Frequently amused on 1/26/23Kodak Center - Rochester

All I can say was it was ok. The performance was good felt the actors(puppeteer) should have been a little more discrete, dressed in black, perhaps. It lost a little illusion. The mic was constantly cutting out, and the lead had evident frustration. The story was ok, and participation was good. It was a little short and felt rushed. Costume(puppets) were very cool and handled well for that part.

Was ok,but overpriced for a 50 minute show.

by Kay on 1/16/23The Maryland Theatre - Hagerstown

Kids enjoyed most of it but honestly the main person spoke so fast they could hardly understand what he was saying and had to ask what did he say constantly. please slow down speaking to children! Also, I understand these "animals" /puppets had to be guided and controlled by people but the very 1st thing a 3 year old noticed was "its not real ..its just a puppet with people in there". Could you at least try to dress the handlers the same color as the dragon/unicorn etc? They wore Black pants and boots stood out like a sore thumb under the white unicorn and other animals. While the concept of the show was cute,it really was not executed very well. And for 50.00 a ticket...expected a bit more.
