DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL is the record-setting Broadway holiday sensation which features the hit songs "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas" from the original animated special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is "two sizes too small," decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss' original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville and helps remind us of the true meaning of the holiday season. Don't miss what The New York Times calls "AN EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE! 100 times better than any bedtime story."
Great acting, very uplifting and sweet. The super star was Cindy Lou Who - she was amazing, as was the Grinch. Such fun.
Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Cadillac Theater was mediocre, at best. For being a musical based on a very popular movie, we hoped the songs would be recognizable, but most were not. The sound quality was terrible as it was hard to understand what the characters were saying. Way overrated, and overpriced for the quality of the production. If you’re thinking of a last minute purchase for Christmas…save your money.
The actors were amazing , the costumes were great and colorful, the sets were beautifully designed, we enjoyed the sing along audience participation. The children were delighted and enjoyed the whole experience. The Grinch actor was outstanding- he did a fabulous job .
Great show , would go again Easy parking Beautiful theater
Our family had so much fun at the show! It was the perfect family holiday show! It was very well done and so very cute!! I would recommend it to any Grinch loving family.
This was an amazing musical. So glad we got to see this.
I was so excited for this. So nostalgic. Spent more than it was worth. The kids worked really hard at their parts! It just lacked pizzazz. Spoiler…. Old Max, Young Max yikes to both. Glad they used some of the original music but even that lacked the sparkle. In this case, watch the original at home with popcorn! The three stars are for the kids in the play.
This was a fantastic show and our daughters first broadway play! She loved it. It was perfect start to the week of Christmas. However, the only reason not for 5 stars was the experience of the theatre with kids under the suggested age of 5+ was very distracting/noisey! There were A LOT of toddlers/kids well under 5 and so it just made for a different experience than we were expecting…we were hoping to hear and focus more since tickets aren’t cheap.
I did not enjoy this musical, I feel they could have done a much better job with the set, very plain, eaten in whosville. I thought the songs were sad and depressing. Didn’t understand the dog as a narrator, didn’t know it was a dog. Very disappointing.
Parts were great but boy was Max done wrong .. solid for kids under 10.. if you are a long time fan watch at home
Took my mom to this show, it was a surprise while she was visiting me in Chicago. We had orchestra seating with great views, interactive with fake snow and confetti. Everything about the show was great! The entertainers, music, staging, and crowd engagement. Kids and adults were engaged the entire time. I had read some reviews stating they were disappointed that the who’s and grinch did not look like they expected….this is not the movie and shouldn’t be expected to mirror exactly! Costumes were wonderful. Would definitely go again!
Took my 4 year old toddler and my 12 year old son to see At the Cadillac Theater in Chicago the Grinch Musical they were blown away. The cast was amazing the actors the Grinch the Narrator, Cindy Lou the little girl everyone was wonderful my kids loved it I clapped so much what a great night.
The play was ok. The venue was horrible. It was so crowded. Couldnt even get up to go anywhere without making the entire roll get up. just horrible
My 5 1/2 year old grandson enjoyed it. Costumes and special affects were great especially the snow! Length of play was good for young children. Interaction with audience was good. Very entertaining and enjoyable.
My 8 year old grandson thoroughly enjoyed as did my wife his grandmother. Was very well done. Very professional.
My husband and I took our 6 year old and we all had a blast. Every kid in the audience, young AND old, laughed and clapped their hearts out!
My boyfriend and I had a very enjoyable date watching this musical :-) The parts where they incorporated the audience was great especially when you could hear that the kids were enjoying it.
I am 22 and I went with my mom, 54, and we loved it! It was just enough of the Grinch's storyline and the costumes were awesome! Also, Cindy Lou was amazing and the people who played all the characters played them so well and sounded just like the original characters.
Great way for our family to start celebrating the holidays!
My whole family attended the show. My parents, husband and daughters (7 and 4). Everyone loved it!!! Definitely recommend the Grinch for any aged audience!!
