DOYLE BRAMHALL II IN CONCERT:

Doyle Bramhall II plays electric blues with a downhome feel that never fails to connect with audiences looking for a rocking time. In concert Bramhall channels greats like Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan as he squeezes every last bluesy note out of his guitar. Whether he’s laying down originals like “Greenlight Girl” and “Soul Shaker” or tearing into standards like “Going Down” and “Outside Woman Blues”, he always impresses with his emotive playing, powerful vocals, and unique style. With top-notch touring musicians backing him up on stage, Bramhall treats blues lovers to an unforgettrable show full of ace musicianship and fiery fretwork every time he tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Named after his father -- a drummer for guitar greats Lightnin’ Hopkins and Freddie King -- Doyle Bramhall II was born to play the blues. He landed his first gig in 1984, touring with The Fabulous Thunderbirds at the tender age of 18. After performing in bands and working as a session musician in his native Texas, he recorded his self-titled debut in 1996. His next album, 1999’s Jellycream, earned him recognition from legends like Eric Clapton and Roger Waters. Before stepping in as lead guitarist on Roger Water’s In the Flesh tour, Bramhall recorded with Clapton and B.B. King on their 2000 collaboration Riding with the King. Since then Bramhall has performed with a veritable who’s who of popular musicians, including Elton John, Gregg Allman, Gary Clark, Jr., and Erykah Badu. Between his busy touring and recording schedules, Doyle Bramhall II still manages to thrill fans with his rocking originals and stunning renditions of blues classics in concert.

    Beware of culture room

by Penatonicminor on 9/15/15Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

It was nearly impossible to enjoy any aspect of this show, Doyle an his band appeared talented, but the audio was so loud that the white noise and cancellation effects dominated the overall sound. The sound "reinforcement" for this event was beyond excessive for the room they were playing in. There was but one dynamic: loud.

    Great Show

by AndreDu on 9/14/15Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Warm up band was the worst ever seen in the history of music. Doyle rocked though - only disappointment was that he didn't play an Arc Angels songs, but otherwise was a great show!!!

If you haven't seen DB2 and appreciate bluesy rock, you are missing out. Bramhall gave us a great show exhibiting his own musical talents as well as those of his outstanding band. They clearly love what they do which translates into an unforgettable audience experience.

Don't waste your time or money

by Planeptr on 9/12/15Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

While obviously an accomplished guitar player, the music was horrible. I didn't hear one song that I would want to hear again ever. It all sounded the same. To make it even worse, the opening act was the most outrageous attempt at entertainment I have ever witnessed. By far the worst show I have ever seen. If either of these guys were playing tonight for free within a block of my house, I would not go.

    The power of the afro!

by themonkey on 4/11/15Talking Stick Resort - Scottsdale

First thing you notice is the striking resemblance to Cream era Clapton/Hendrix, the afro was kicking!! Then he and the band broke into loose grooved, power blues-rock. They are masters at their craft, great band; great interplay. Pulled out originals, Arc Angels, classic covers, and a sincere tribute to Jimi! Obviously this is a fun, jam based band for Doyle. They tore it up and cut loose, while still being spot on. It was a lot of fun to behold, and they enjoyed themselves too. His technique is definitely a sight to see(backwards upside down). Would highly recommend it for a good time!

Doyle is an awesome guitar player!

by Bass2 on 4/6/15Talking Stick Resort - Scottsdale

Doyle Bramhall and his band put on a great show! The dynamics of the band were really good. His version of "Angel" by Jimi Hendrix was one of my favorites. The drummer & Bass player were solid. The other guitar player was great too and also did a couple nice solos. It was cool to see him do an Arc Angels song "Carry On". I wish he could have done 1 more tune by the Arc Angels. My wife got his autograph after the show. He is a really cool guy and asked if she had a pen and she said the one time she didn't have a pen, So he just looked around and said she has a pen and pointed to the cocktail waitress.... pretty funny! I hope to see him again! Thanks for a great bluesy evening of entertainment Doyle! I cant wait to hear your new solo album. Steve V.
