DOYLE BRAMHALL II IN CONCERT:

Doyle Bramhall II plays electric blues with a downhome feel that never fails to connect with audiences looking for a rocking time. In concert Bramhall channels greats like Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan as he squeezes every last bluesy note out of his guitar. Whether he’s laying down originals like “Greenlight Girl” and “Soul Shaker” or tearing into standards like “Going Down” and “Outside Woman Blues”, he always impresses with his emotive playing, powerful vocals, and unique style. With top-notch touring musicians backing him up on stage, Bramhall treats blues lovers to an unforgettrable show full of ace musicianship and fiery fretwork every time he tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Named after his father -- a drummer for guitar greats Lightnin’ Hopkins and Freddie King -- Doyle Bramhall II was born to play the blues. He landed his first gig in 1984, touring with The Fabulous Thunderbirds at the tender age of 18. After performing in bands and working as a session musician in his native Texas, he recorded his self-titled debut in 1996. His next album, 1999’s Jellycream, earned him recognition from legends like Eric Clapton and Roger Waters. Before stepping in as lead guitarist on Roger Water’s In the Flesh tour, Bramhall recorded with Clapton and B.B. King on their 2000 collaboration Riding with the King. Since then Bramhall has performed with a veritable who’s who of popular musicians, including Elton John, Gregg Allman, Gary Clark, Jr., and Erykah Badu. Between his busy touring and recording schedules, Doyle Bramhall II still manages to thrill fans with his rocking originals and stunning renditions of blues classics in concert.

    DOYLE ROCKED THE HOUSE

by RockingKoby on 9/12/17Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

This mega-talented artist and his band were EXPLOSIVE last Thursday at the Teragram. Doyle really knows how to heat up a place, that’s for sure. His set consisted mainly of songs from his latest release Rich Man. The songs were churned out at 78 rpm, a fun spin on the recorded material……almost like speed metal LOL (kidding). Doyle and the band were wired up and definitely MOVED and GROOVED the whole audience. They definitely did not disappoint any of us fans. We all had a great time and LOVED his show. I can’t get enough of him! I live in OC, so I also saw him at the Coach House in SJ Capistrano a few days later. This show was spectacular too, of course. What made this show SUPER SPECTACULAR was because I had a front row seat and enjoyed an up close view of Doyle – MR. EYE CANDY! I have a major crush on this guy! He is a top-notch guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Not to mention the sexiest man on the face of this planet……with gorgeous HAIR.....believe me, it is! ;) Be still my beating heart! LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM

    DOyle is awesome

by drwfan06 on 1/23/17Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

This was the second show for me , seeing DOyle Bramhall II ...at the culture room in Ft. Lauder dale. The staff of the venue, including the sound guy...did a great job. The show itself is a wide-ranging mix....from blues to soul to jazz and back again.....an excellent experience for the TRUE music fan. DOyle just completed a new LP (rich man) and it is also mix of various styles of material, that nothing short of a musical journey through many types of world and American music. Anyone seeks new adventures in the Live experience of Music would be pleased after seeing Doyle Bramhall II.

    Soulful and intense

by scottee on 1/21/17Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

This was Doyle's best Solo performance. The new album is fantastic. The concert arrangements on November and Sahara were so well done. I saw the band in September 2015. They have become really tight. The music was so intense and at the same time had so much soul.

2nd time seeing Doyle.....traveled 5.5hrs this time, and always worth the trip. Doyle writes and plays amazing songs.....band is awesome and opening act....future stuff was amazingly talented! If I had that talent I hope I could be as humble as Doyle.....my favorite guitarist by far....how he's not selling out hugh places I don't know. ..but hopefully I'll get to see some more before he is!!! He exudes soul and feeling when he plays and sings and his songs are amazing.....nothing but AWE.....keep it up Doyle!! I'd like to meet the entire band afterwards though.....bring everyone after the show to meet and greet.

    Amazing!

by emily2033 on 1/20/17Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Doyle's new band - with Anthony Cole (Drums/Sax/vocals), Ted Pecchio(bass and vocals) and Adam Minkoff (vocals, guitar, keys) is downright amazing. The chemistry as well as musicianship is something to behold. He played a lot of tracks off his new CD as well some old favorites. Plus the Ponte Vedra Music (though a bit remote) is really nice, sound is good ,bar is stocked. A+ show.

Doyle Bramhall - LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM

by RockingKoby on 12/13/16Teragram Ballroom - Los Angeles

What can I say....Doyle Bramhall 2 put on a GREAT show at the Teragram Ballroom 12/01/16. He has a commanding presence onstage that one simply cannot ignore. In fact, I couldn't take my eyes off this gorgeous man. Not only is he hot, but of course he can sing and play the gee-tar like no other....that's why Eric Clapton loves this guy! The band played perfectly in sync with one another. I liked the raw, edgy, powerful sound which was displayed that night. Doyle's set consisted mainly of songs from his new album "Rich Man" with a few exceptions like Green Light Girl and So You Want it to Rain. I really love that song.

Worth every penny and more. Doyle Bramhall II

by Grooveman45 on 10/26/16Port City Music Hall - Portland

Incredible show at the Port City Music Hall with Doyle Bramhall II, and his adept band. Doyle and friends came out slightly later than the 8 p.m. start time, but by 8:15, he walked on stage and started the show with My People, from his latest release Rich Man. Do yourself a favor and buy this CD. He played mostly cuts from this release, with the exception of two curs from Welcome, So You Want It to Rain, and the encore Green Light Girl by nearly everyone in the crowds request. Complete mastery of his instrument, and the band is top notch. For a four piece band, the vocals were exceptional. If he comes back again, there's no way we're missing his show. All killer, no filler A++ performance and sound.

Doyle and his band played their hearts out.

by BigB63 on 5/4/16Forum Theater At The BJCC - Birmingham

I've been following Doyle for quite some time. Getting to see him was a real treat for my Wife and I, especially in such a small and personal atmosphere. Doyle's upside down style on the guitar was fantastic to watch and his talented band played their hearts out. Doyle has such an amazing voice that deserves to be heard. We loved all the songs from their new album, and hope it will be out soon. We had one fantastic night to remember always. Doyle, Thank you so much for coming to Birmingham so we could hear you play!!!!

    Doyle Bramhall ll and Band.

by JoeDirtCar on 5/4/16Forum Theater At The BJCC - Birmingham

The Forum is a very intimate setting holding about 200 people. We arrived early and picked up a few shirts and then headed into the venue. We sat on the front row and when I say you are close, you are really close. Doyle and band did not disappoint. It is really refreshing to see a group of musicians working together to provide an overall sound experience for the listener. Doyle was of course front and center but plenty of time was shared so all his band could shine and they did. Most played multiple instruments and very well I might add. His drummer is probably the most happy drummer I have ever seen in my life. Born to play as they say. Doyle and company played a variety of material so they covered a lot of ground in an hour and a half. For those who don't know, Doyle plays left-handed but learned on a right-handed guitar upside down so to watch him play is fascinating. I have a friend who was in our group that learned the same way so he was really pumped to see Doyle live. This show reminded me of what I saw in Austin, TX years ago. Really talented musicians working at their craft for the love of playing. That is something you can't manufacture or put together overnight. It is called experience and Doyle and company have plenty of that. Overall I was highly entertained. For me being a guitar player and my brother being a bass player, it was quite a treat and really left you inspired to do more and to be honest showed how lazy we had become in playing because you see what working your craft can do for you when you see this type of show. I have to say that unfortunately we had a person who just had to interrupt the flow of the show by trying to talk to Doyle between songs. Doyle being the professional he is just let the guy ramble with all he had to say so that this would be the only interruption of the night. I know that at one point I felt uncomfortable with his rambling so I can only imagine how Doyle and the band felt. So sorry that happened and please don't hold it against the rest of us. So, if you want to see blues influenced rock and roll played at it's highest level by musicians who love to play it that way, do yourself a favor and see Doyle and his band while you can. You won't be disappointed.
