The band and the building get 5 stars automatically. I asked 5 different people working there where an ATM was and I got 5 different answers. The mask mandate was in place yet not many people were wearing them constantly. I was enjoying a beer and had my mask down as I was drinking and some woman flashed a flashlight in my face and repeated to say “MASK DOWN SIR” until I did. Yet she could have walked 20 feet the other way into the crowd and saw groups of people not wearing them while I was at a bar standing by myself away from everyone. So yeah like I said Down was amazing as always but the people there. Hit and miss
Heaviest I’ve ever herd dem Bar tab was cheap Enough March for everyone
Phil's vocals were as good as they've been in years. The band was tight and the acoustics sounded good (contrary to what I've heard about the venue). Beer cost an arm and a leg, but that was to be expected these days.
I have to say I've seen down twice and this will be the last time. Phil was drunk and the sound was really messed up. Phil kept giving the sound guy dirty looks through most of the show.
First of all, the sound at Pieres is awful. As a matter of fact, the place as a whole isn't that great. Secondly, Down brought a couple no name acts who weren't all that great as well. Third, DOWN was great as usual. Even with shitty sound, they still killed the show like normal. Pepper Keenan's guitar melted faces and Phil was full of energy. Exactly what I expected from the them. But up until them the event was below average.
Phil Anselmo! Enough said Always puts on a great show!
This show was awesome, small venue, not a bad view anywhere in the place, very loud, ears still ringing the next day, very cool to get to see Phil Anselmo again, EPIC!
Nice venue and Down was great...the opening bands child bite and mountain of wizard were ok..
Unbelievable- the metal show of the decade. I have seen down many times and they continue to be better every time I see'em. I have not heard of the other bands before this show, test assure I will be find their albums asap
Are you kidding me? this was one of the best concerts of my life, i remember when i was a teenager alone in my room rocking out to pantera's cds, to this day, i go crazy with Anselmo's lyrics. Coolest dude ever along with Danzig.
everything was perfect. that venue is so historical but Down. man. this goes down in the history books
This was one of the best days ever!! Got to meet my man Phil and the rest of the band and I gotta say they treated everyone as if each and every one of us were a close friend of theirs. They are all down to earth and just amazing guys! The concert had great opening bands, definitely my kind of music. Down of course couldn't be better. I've never seen a bad show by Down. This band is top notch in my book and am looking forward to seeing tham again. I loved the venue, the size, architecture, ambiance, etc... I felt at home immediately. For those who enjoy this music, do not hesitate to go see them next time they are in town... I know I won't!
The band was on fire in Riverside even though the venue was far from sold out, they gave us there all. Great opening acts as well. Really dug Orange Goblin and plan to see them again.
Great show. Sound was amazing. Always good to see a band in their home town.
Down truly are the statesman of NOLA metal...each show is a thing to behold...the power of the riff compels me!
Honky opened the show. Good sound quality, drew some interest from the crowd. Originally HAARP was supposed to open and would have preferred them much more. Honky was good. Warbeast was next. Thrash is my favorite metal. Warbeast is a band without an identity. The lead singer and lead guitarist look like they are straight out of an 80's metal band. The lead singer's vocals don't go with the music. They are out of time and simply don't work. The band sounded very good, the singer, not so much so. Wouldn't see them again... Down played a great set and show. Music was clean, vocals were the best I've heard from Phil in years and he is about the best frontman in the business. Great performance. Why 4 out of 5? Warbeast sucked that much for me.....
Outstanding performance from start to finish! Non stop action plus not one but two encores. I hope DOWN comes every year and I would definitely get the VIP package again.
Phil was in rare form. Talking to the crowd after each song. And singing like he was having fun and enjoying it. The crowd was giving it up and singing to all the ifavorites. Played a few off there new album "WITCH TRIPPER." most of the songs were from Nola bringing the heavyness. That's what everyone likes and wants to hear. Very cool show definitely recommended.
Saw Down at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC and the Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, NC and all I can say is wow! Easily the most engaging and entertaining shows I have ever had to privilege to see! Phil and Kirk played the crowds and kept everybody in stitches and the music was out of sight. Also LOVED Warbeast as the opener. Great shows!!
