Comedian Doug Benson (The Benson Interruption, Last Comic Standing) departs from stand-up with his entertainment-themed podcast Doug Loves Movies, live onstage and featuring special surprise guests. Don’t miss your chance to see Doug and his friends banter about films and play the crowd-favorite Leonard Maltin game.
I'm a new, but fervent, fan of the DLM podcast so it was awesome to see the podcast being recorded in front of my eyes.
Doug Benson's podcast Doug Loves Movies is so much fun. Don't forget to make a name tag -- yours may be chosen to possibly win a prize bag!! This edition was "scary" so we wore our Halloween costumes. Doug gathered some awesome comedians for the panel including W. Kamau Bell, Brad Williams, Gabe Dylan, and Ngaio Bealum. I really enjoyed myself! I will definitely be looking for the next DLM when Benson comes back to the Bay Area.
I was surprised by how different it was to see this show live. All the little things I notice when I listen to the podcast went right over my head. The show felt slow and strained in person. Yet when I listened to it the next day, it sounded like all the other episodes- fun and funny. In person it seemed like one of the guests, and maybe even Doug, didn't really want to be there. Not the best mix of contestants, in my opinion. And...in true fashion, Doug was high. Maybe too high to be as sharp as you'd hope a standup comedian would be.
I love Doug Benson's podcast and seeing it live was even better! I recommend listing to his podcast, all of them!, and seeing him live when he comes to your area. I already have tickets for his next show at the Gramercy. And the Gramercy is super cool too!
The energy (and sometime physical comedy) of seeing this show live was such a great and new experience for this long-time podcast listener. For fans of the Doug Loves Movies podcast, it is absolutely worth it to come out and see a taping.
This show was way funny than I expected, and the surprise guests were great. I recommend it if you're looking for something to do during SDCC.
Doug and his guests were hilarious, great show all around
Always happy to see Doug when he comes to town! Great lineup for the podcast taping, having "Mark Wahlberg" there was a special treat. Hilarious all around
Doug Benson is hysterical and always has the best guests for Doug Loves Movies. Moshe Kasher, Kevin Avery and Tony Kamin were awesome. I will be back to see Doug anytime he comes to town.
loved everything about this except how cramped Punchline Sacramento is, and the prohibition of photography. Otherwise, easy to get to, decent drinks and prices, great show.
DLM was fantastic, I had never seen it live before and I can not express how much better it is live. The podcast is of course hilarious but I could never shake the feeling like I was missing something- and I was! Everyone's facial expressions could not be beat, we had a great time and the Punchline Comedy Club in Sacramento was a great venue. Also, our server Tina rocked the house!
Really good show. Hilarious, as always. Having the crowd come in costume was a really fun touch.
Such a fun show and Punchline is an awesome venue.
Doug is the best and the Punchline is an awesome venue. Great show all around!
