Pretty Smooth Play And Very Surprising!!!

by biggl on 10/8/14Warner Theatre - Washington

This is a very good play and with a well planned plot in it. The Washington, D.C., native singer Tony Terry sounded good though and one female singer sung pretty well too. All the characters' played their role very well in this play at all times.

    Just Awesome and so true!!!!

by Shortyflip on 10/7/14Warner Theatre - Washington

I truly and fully enjoyed the show! It surprised me a little when they engaged the audience (Derrell as Maurice)-he knew just what he was doing! It allowed people to express themselves with his character's actions. It had me laughing, pissed off and remembering that life and best friends can be so cruel; but I/we grow and learn from it; through belief and faith in God. I was able take a picture with Tony Terry and a picture of the entire cast; talk to them and tell them I much I liked their character and got signatures.

SO BAD WE LEFT AT INTERMISSION

    by THE2BERRYS on 10/7/14Warner Theatre - Washington

THIS WAS EASILY THE WORST PLAY I'VE EVER SEEN. I TOOK MY WIFE AS A SURPRISE BECAUSE WE LOVE GOING TO SEE PLAYS AT THE WARNER THEATRE BUT THIS PLAY WAS ABSOLUTELY WOEFUL. I DON'T WANT TO GO ON AND ON ABOUT HOW BAD THIS PLAY WAS BECAUSE IT HAS ALREADY WASTED ENOUGH OF MY TIME. THE CHARACTERS BROKE INTO SONG AT COMPLETELY RANDOM MOMENTS, THEY HAD SCENES THAT TRULY HAD NO PLACE IN THE PLAY AS THEY HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE THEME OF THE PLAY, AND THE SUPPOSED "BIG SURPRISE" OF THE PLAY JUST MEANT THAT SOME OF THE ONLY PARTS OF THE PLAY WITH SUBSTANCE HAD REALLY ONLY BEEN WRITTEN TO MISLEAD US AND NOW MADE ZERO SENSE. THIS PLAY WAS ATROCIOUS. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

    Dynamic Twist

by ricotia on 10/7/14Warner Theatre - Washington

I was pleased with the play it did not have alot of singing and there was a major twist at the end. Derrell Lawrence is very talented and I look forward to seeing other projects from him in the future.

    Good play

by SCousins on 10/7/14Warner Theatre - Washington

Overall this was a good play. There was a lot of twist and turns which made it even better. There was little changes that need to be made but I am sure with time it will be good. Changes include change of scenery or different stages, eliminating the noise from the other actors when they are changing scenes and have on mics.

    Great Twist!!!!!!

by RandiMD on 10/7/14Warner Theatre - Washington

I love the twist in the story "GREAT SHOW" The bride & groom to be along with their best friends gave a great performance. Monifa performance and Sean Blakemoore was great as well. However Although they were funny and good I didn't understand the two senior roles in the story line. As well as using the two muscical artist signature songs why not write new songs for the show seems like they were used only for their songs as a drawl in. Finally Tony Terry did not sit right as a pastor even though he was a no good for nothing pastor his wardrobe just seemed to be too loose for this role as a pastor....yes I know even for a no good nothing pastor....lol.

    A GOOD TWIST

    by msdee1217 on 10/6/14Warner Theatre - Washington

I thought this play was very good. The first half was just a tab bit slow but the second half was offl the chain. When you think you have it figure out, its a twist to it that you never see it coming. I think this play was very good and the writer who starred in the play is super fine. You will not be disappointed. Go and see it. It's worth it. All the actors and actresses were great.

"Do You Trust Your Best Friend" was entertaining.

    by silk12 on 10/6/14Warner Theatre - Washington

We went on opening night, and unfortunately, there were a few technical problems. For example, the music timing/cueing was off during some scenes, as well as there was a probem with one of the cast's microphones. The play was entertaining and the cast did a good job but there is room for improvement. The entire play was done with one scene/setup of the same furniture, stage props, etc. It appeared to be low budgeted compared to other plays we have attended. To prepare for each scene (although there were no major changes done to the furniture, surroundings, stage props), there were odd and frequent times when all the lights went out as they prepared. Also, we noticed that the majority of the female cast wore very tight clothing that did not flatter their figures. The clothes accentuated areas that should not have been accentuated, i.e., large abdomens, cellulite, etc. We could actually hear other people in the audience negatively commenting on their clothes. The clothing did not compliment the ladies' figures well. We didn't think the scene with Tony Terry singing the song "When I'm With You" actually fit with the context of the scene. It was like the song was just thrown in there to give Tony the opportunity to sing it. It just didn't flow and transition well. On a positive note, the play had a good twist to it. Again, we thought the cast did a good job and think that Mr. Lawrence has a bright future ahead of him.

    Entertaining

by Donna345 on 7/1/13Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre - Orlando

This play was enjoyable and entertaining. It had some great twists that I didn't expect. Christopher Williamsgave a stellar performace as usual, though I wished to hear more of his beautiful singing voice. Sean Blakemore, Matt Nadu, Derrell Lawrence and the whole ensemble gave stellar performances as well. Kudos to Derrell Lawrence for putting his vision on stage. I believe this young man's star as an actor and playwright will rise. I must say that Matt Nadu's performance stole the show. Bravo!!!
