DJ SNAKE IN CONCERT:
Up-and-coming hip hop producer DJ Snake scored one of the biggest hits of 2014 with the Lil Jon-featured banger "Turn Down for What", so it's no surprise that his live show is one of the year's hottest tickets. Snake's instantly recognizable blend of skittering trap beats and insanely catchy synth hooks have struck a major chord with audiences, and his masterful buildups, breakdowns, and drops have earned him a live reputation that matches his impressive studio credentials. Whether he's laying down original cuts or treating fans to thumping remixes of Kanye West and AlunaGeorge, Snake always delivers seriously dance-worthy sets on his must-see tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Paris-based DJ and producer DJ Snake, a.k.a. William Grigahcine, made his professional debut behind the scenes as a producer on Lady Gaga's 2011 sophomore album Born This Way. His work on that release earned him a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year in 2012, foreshadowing the success that would soon follow with his own material. After releasing a string of acclaimed remixes in 2013 for artists like Duck Sauce and Major Lazer, Snake made his debut on charts around the world with "Turn Down For What", a ubiquitous club anthem featuring vocals by Lil John. The song topped the US Dance/Electronic Songs chart and reached the Top 20 in his native France, launching him to international stardom. Since then, Snake has collaborated with legendary producer Diplo, released the track "Get Low" with Dillon Francis, and been named a "2014 Artist to Watch" by Fox Weekly. With appearances at HARD Summer Music Festival and the Mad Decent Block Party tour rounding out his 2014, Snake has cemented his status as one of the hottest new producers in the game.
I loved the experience, it was a very fun night with excellent songs and with one of the best djs
The show was amazing!!!! They killed it! Venue was great and not too hot even with all of those people! The bartenders were on it with the water!
Probably one of the best Djs of all time. I’ve been fortunate to see him 6 times and it’s gets better every time .
The show was amazing. Loved the production- the stage, the lights. Only thing I had an issue with and a lot of people share this concern is the sound. I also experienced this at the last show I attended at the same venue which was the JackU show on April 13th. Sound is not nearly loud enough or clear enough for that matter. I've been to a lot of shows at this venue in the past years and one thing about Bill Graham I liked was it always had good sound but unfortunately I was disappointed by the sound quality the last 2 times. I don't know what the issue is but I hope this doesn't become a persistent problem with this venue as that is very discouraging to concert goers since the main purpose for these events is the music. Overall I still enjoyed the show but I thought I might as well write this review.
That was one of the best experiences ever. Would recommend
What a mess. Young people who can't handle themselves and dj's who don't know how to mix. Tchami was okay but dj snake was terrible. The vibes were not good and it took about an hour to get inside.
Possibly one of the ragest raves I've been to in a while. The fact that he did a meet and greet with a purchase of a shirt just made my night meeting 3 of the top French producers in the game.
I had the time of my life with my friends. Security was chill. So many good vibes.
Every dj brought their A game! They all threw down the most slappin future bass music thats out right now! Absolute best sets ive seen in my life. Such a great night, i hope they put this tour on again soon!
There is a reason most shows have no-name openers. It gives people time to trickle in. At this show, everyone shows up at 8 when the doors open, security is slow AF, thousands of people cut in line, so we missed most of the show. I saw Tchami and DJ Snake. Tchami was soooo good. Snake was.... playing the typical big room shitty Ultra club music that he always plays. I heard Malaa was fire.
My first time at EchoStage and it was great! My friends and I will definitely be returning soon! DJ Snake put on a fantastic show, the ambient was good and the drinks were on point.
Malaa was ok Mercer was ok Tchami was good DJ snake is a joke. Unless you're 18-22 years old, this this show is a waste of time and money. The venue was amazing, though. Light show was really really good too.
DJ Snake didn't come out until about 12:30am. I was really disappointed that it took him that long to show. I enjoyed a few of the other DJ's, but obviously the main reason I went was for DJ Snake.
This was my first time attending a show like this. My husband and I, 23 years old, absolutely had one of the best nights together. The DJ's were all really great the entire night but hands down DJ Snake owned it, of course! I did not experience any problems other than the touchy hands of some kids. We stayed on the floor the majority of the time. When we ordered drinks we did not have a long wait.
The concert was an amazing experience. I highly recommend going! The DJ's put on an awesome set.
Pardon my French was great! Me and my friends had a wonderful time! Although, one thing I would say.. Is that my ticket wasn't scanned, some guy with a beard was like "ticket scanned, you can go." And he threw is in the trash. Like I paid 45$ for nothing pretty much if I knew tickets weren't being scanned.
5 hours of near-constant rave scene. Was great. Venue floor got pretty gross/sticky/soaked from spills. That's probably more idiots trying to bring a full beer through a thousand dancing person crowd :-D
Ticket Master emailed me and said that doors would open at 7p instead of 8p. This was a lie. Doors didn't open until 8p. I am not sure if the back to back sets (without break) was a direct result of this. The only break was when set up for DJ Snake's light show was going up. Overall, the concert seemed rushed.
Very good show. Wish DJ snake played more of his own songs though. Played the same one 3 times... Twice. They're good songs but he was also playing a lot of other peoples music. Also, adele is not the same genre idk what he was thinking. Venue is always good even though it was cold as hell with the tiny area for the line coming in. Overall cool place and great show though.
This was my 5th rave, but I have never, ever, seen so many drugs in the crowd. FIVE guys threw up right in front of us after blatantly taking some drugs they fought from some raggedy old black guy in front of the temple. Right in front of everybody. Other than this, the DJs were fantastic, loved the music, and the rest of the crowd was energetic and gorgeous. 8/10
