  • Distant worlds was amazing!!!!

by Anonymous on 2/4/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

My fiance and I have been final fantasy fans since day one. We love square Enix and more importantly the great Nobuo Uematsu himself. He is our favorate composer and seeing him and the whole package wascompletely invigorating. The actual orchestra itself was spot on not a single mistake plus the humor of the conductor made the experience even better.I recommend this concert to any final fantasy fan or even any classical music fan it is a show to remember.

  • Distant Worlds

by ZReport on 2/4/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Distant Worlds at the NJPAC was amazing. If you didn't go or was hesitant to purchase a ticket, you definitely missed an experience of a lifetime. Grammy Award winning conductor Arnie Roth led the show as he took us on a tour of some of the most famed music from Final Fantasy IV, V, VI, VII, VII & IX, with the beautiful piece of Suteki da ne (Isn't It Wonderful?) from FFX, sung by RIKKI

  • The best concert for final fantasy fans!

by Recops on 2/4/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

This concert series is the best concert for any true final fantasy fans. Music from all titles played by a live orchestra with live singers and chorus and sometimes special guests including composer Nobuo Uematzu. You can't miss this nostalgic and exiting concert

Truly a night to remember. The encore blew me away. As a fan of FF you owe it to yourself to go see this show

  • FINAL FANTASY MUSIC IS AWESOME.

by Jen18520 on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Nobuo Uematsu, Arnie Roth, Rikki, Susan Calloway, and many other talented and amazing musicians bring a night of unforgettable, epic music from the best of Final Fantasy, they never disappoint their fans. They covered my personal favoritwa from ff7, ff8, ff10 and ff13, as well as a plethora of other great pieces from the other ff games. I went to both shows (3pm and 8pm) and loved both. Can't wait til they come back to the tri-state area!

Great concert. Uematsu-san was there. My favorite songs were the opera from FF6, and Opening/Bombing Mission from FF7. Every song was really great, even the music from the newer FF games I don't like have great music. Arnie Roth the conductor, and singers Susan Calloway and Rikki were also great. Highly recommended to gamers, and orchestral music fans!

First time attending this concert. I loved it! I wish it was longer! I've been listening to final fantasy music from all the games for years and it was so good to hear and watch it live. From the start to the very end was absolutely amazing! I would definitely go again!

A wonderful set with an amazing encore. I truly hope Mr. Uematsu returns to the East coast in the future.

  • Distant World is a New world!!

by hottorow on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Growing up on Final Fantasy and finally coming to the orchestra was worth all my money. The sound and view of everything was great. Not only did they demonstrate final fantasy music, they gave you videos to know what song belongs not what game. It's was a new world that many sound experience. 10/10!!!.

  • Best night of my life

This was my 8th Final Fantasy concert. I try to go as often as possible. Highly recommended if you like Final Fantasy or even if you just like orchestrated music. EXCELLENT. The graphics are a nice touch.

  • for the Final Fantasy familiar and not!

by rinoaheartilly on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

The Distant World Final Fantasy concert was artfully presented with images on a screen behind the orchestra. The orchestra itself was amazing and played the songs with such heart that it will engage those not familiar with the series and allow others who are familiar to happily reminisce.

The concert was an amazing experience. I would recommend it to fans of Final Fantasy and those unfamiliar with it alike. The venue is spectacular and really enhanced the grandeur of the event.

  • Absolutely Amazing

by Hirocchi on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

If you have a love for Final Fantasy music, this is a show that you'll enjoy and you will not regret. You'll probably complain that the fact they didn't play your "favorite" song, but they'll still play memorable songs that you will/should enjoy. I enjoyed the first one so much that I got up during intermission and got another ticket for the second show. It turned out even better, because they played more songs I was familiar with.

  • A great experience

by originalFFan on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

I had been waiting for Distant Worlds to come closer to NYC, and with it being held in New Jersey, it was an easy decision to pick up tickets and make the trip to the event. The music selection was good, especially the focus on FVI and IX, and hearing the music live from the orchestra made it sound that much better than recordings you might hear online. Also, it was awesome to see Uematsu there at the event. My only regret is being able to watch only one of the two concerts held that day. I definitely recommend Distant Worlds to any fan of FF or VG music in general.

  • Distant Words was surreal, in a good way.

by TLLang on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Distant Worlds was one of the best concerts I'd ever has the pleasure to attend, and is a definite must for anyone who enjoys the Final Fantasy series. There is nothing like listening to the familiar soundtrack from the games live, to feel the music as they were meant to be played. It was a surreal experience, but in an incredibly good way. The concert was two hours long, but it felt like mere minutes and yet still more than enough to leave me breathless and wishing the concert could have lasted longer. I will definitely attend again when I get the chance to.

  • Overwhelmingly nostalgic and beautiful

by Mightywaffle on 2/3/15New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 4 out of 5

A little less than half of the pieces I do not recall having heard before despite having played almost all of the past final fantasy series. Die hard fans will remember all of them and can relate. This is what made each piece so powerful because hearing it brings you back into the world of final fantasy when you first played that scene in the game that featured the songs. My favorite was when RIKKI came out to sing "suteki da ne". It was so powerful I teared. She did it perfectly and beautifully like it brought me back into the game. Wonderful performance for anyone even if they aren't fans of the final fantasy series. But some may just find this performance lacking in the classical genre if they solely base it off of that. 5stars for die hard fans who played all ff games. 4 if you know about the series and played just a few or even none.

Could recommend it enough for a FF fan. The songs they chose, the quality of the orchestra, the guest appearances.. all spectacular.
