  • Distant Worlds was Amazing

by Spartanious on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

It was everything I could hope for. With classics such as the Opera, Aerith's theme and One Winged Angel. Along with fun favorites such as Mamba de Chocobo and some newer songs from FFXIII.

  • One amazing show!

by IronChefBahamut on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

What a show!! I've been to one other Final Fantasy concert, and both have been unforgettable evenings. The venue (Royce Hall) was beautiful and being able to mill around at the bar before the doors opened was great. The concert itself was byond amazing -- Distant Worlds is a two-night event, but we were only able to go to Saturday night because of work. However, the set for Saturday included the majority of the FFIX music, which was what we really were hoping to hear. Going to a concert like this really makes me want to play the games again! Plus, with Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, and composer Nobuo Uematsu sitting just few rows ahead if us, it really was a special treat!! Awesome concert, wonderful memories!

  • Exquisite!

by OAnuO on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

We attended the second night and found out through the night it was the concert to be at. Audience energy was high. The music was unbelievably pure, crisp, and well conducted! The hosts were engaging and the Special guests caused everyone to slip "oh my god"s and gasp! We enjoyed the encore presentation of one winged angel. It was delightful and made the perfect closing to the concert. The FF clips were well done as well!

This was a definite must see. The music was great and there was a great surprise for us all during the concert. If I knew it was so much fun, I would have went to both events for my area.

by swerre on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

My husband, who doesn't play video games and don't like Final Fantasy couldn't stop raving about how good the Orchestra was. He only went because I love Final Fantasy. I thought it was great too! Would love to go again when they come back.

  • small but over all great

by dmknight on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

The place was alittle small for the shear number of fan, but the concert was not a disappointment. The staff was helpful and polite. As a fan of both the musical and gameing aspect it was on of the best concerts iv ever been to and will be going again.

by awesomeFFfan on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

It was amazing, all the music they played brought back great memories when i first played them! The seats I had was on the way far left corner, I thought it was gunna be horrible, but it turned out to be not so bad! Definitely recommend fans to go attend this event! I met many new friends and even got a girl's number =)

  • An Amazing Experience

    by FromTool2Slipknot on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I have not been to a symphony in so long. I enjoyed myself very much. I am a Final Fantasy fan and watching the music come to life in front of my eyes was the most amazing experience I've had with musical perforamances. The orchestra was flawless. I would definately catch them on the next round of performances. Thank you Ticketmaster and most of all, thank you all at the Distant Worlds Team!!

  • Distant Worlds concert was awesome!

by caffiniac on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

This was my first FF concert and it was a great experience! I attended the 2nd night of the performance and was not disappointed. From what I heard, the venue was smaller than most, but I liked the more intimate setting and I did not feel as though I was in a huge stadium. Seeing Nobuo perform and in attendance was even better!

This was my first Distant Worlds event, and it was AWESOME. Here's to hoping for more LA performances.

  • My best childhood memories relived!

    by DrewDrew2424 on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Arnie Roth, Nobuo Uematsu, Susan Calloway. It was amazing from beginning to end and so much better than what I imagined it would be. Great crowd and they played to all the popular songs. Even a guest appearance from Hironobu Sakaguchi himself?? I was simply MINDBLOWN! The Opera Scene from Final Fantasy VI was my favorite and I couldn't stop smiling and a live performance from Arnie Roth and Nobuo Uematsu topped it off. I would do it all again if I could. Definitely worth the ticket price. Also, Royce Hall is an amazing hall to be in for a concert.

  • A must for any Uematsu fan.

Apparently I have to write at least 50 characters, so here it goes... Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Barret, Red XIII, Yuffie, Vincent, Cid, Terra, Locke, Celes, Edgar, Sabin, Shadow, Cyan, Gau, Setzer, Mog, Umaro, Gogo, Strago, Relm, General Leo, Kefka, Gestahl, Tidus, Yuna, Kimahri, Wakka, Rikku, Auron, Lulu, Seymour, Yunalesca, Chappu, Ashe, Vaan, Balthier, Fran, Penelo, Basch, Zidane, Garnet, Quina, Blank, Steiner, Vivi, Kuja, Eiko, Amarant. There, 50 characters. Can I submit my review now?

Nobu Uematsu & Hironobu Sakaguchi were both present at the performance + Sephiroth was the encore. Could not have asked for anything else :)

It was a good concert, and I enjoyed the music and games scenes. However, I think the tickets were too expensive, and the directions were poor, especially at the UCLA campus.

  • by Anonymous on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I liked how Nobuo tried to involve the fans!!!!!!!

  • by Anonymous on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great! Dark World was a slight disappointment as was the guitar soloist, but the Opera and all the other songs were amazing. The visualizations they play on the main screen were nostalgic but ultimately unnecessary and distracting.

  • Distant Worlds Delivered!

by ReignGoddess on 9/12/11Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I had an incredible time. I knew this was going to be good, but this FAR exceeded even the best that I could imagine. Nearly everyone in the audience had tears in their eyes at some point in time during the evening. There were so many breath-taking, unforgettable moments that I felt this to be a once-in-a-lifetime event. Arnie Roth, Susan Calloway, Nobuo Uematsu and the entire Orchestra were just too incredible for words! I have to say the ultimate highlight was Nobuo Uematsu coming up on stage to perform Dark World and then joining the chorus during the encore to perform One-Winged Angel. I think even people that never played any/all of the games could still enjoy this; perhaps it may inspire some to start playing.
