A really fun night at the theater.

by blondLA on 3/16/16Nederlander Theatre - New York

3 friends of mine and I went to see "Disaster" the opening week and loved it. It was absolutely hilarious. We laughed from start to finish and enjoyed the cleverness of the jokes and the spoofing of all of those 70's disaster films that I remember. They left no movie unskewered. I have recommended this to lots of friends now and I am getting tickets again to see it in April when I am in NY next.

    Disaster was hilarious!!

by OldDiscoFan on 3/15/16Nederlander Theatre - New York

Having grown up in the 70's, listening and dancing to disco music, I, knew I would enjoy the music in the show! Since I'm not always a fan of slapstick comedy, I was skeptical about the storyline. Thankfully, my fears were unfounded -- the show was absolutely hilarious!!

Disaster was not disaster just ok

by Jay789 on 3/15/16Nederlander Theatre - New York

Saw Disaster this weekend and would say it was average. Not the best I have seen but not the worst. The first act appeared to be missing something and was really reaching to make the story. For example, the scene where the cater tells his roommate that he has a job on the new ship. The roommate is just excited to meet girls. However, in the play he pines over his lost girlfriend. It would be better if the cater was convincing him to get over the girl and join him on the job. Disaster is not a complicated play but has elements that don't add to the story. For example, the rich couple; no back story, and was only funny when they were throwing body parts off the ship but their involvement in the story seemed unimportant. I think fewer characters would be better. You could do without the Diva and just have the Nun cause the disaster. The second act improves tremendously and is funnier.

    Entertaining, but not hilarious

by MidwestTheaterGoer on 3/15/16Nederlander Theatre - New York

This musical has a terrific cast and is lighthearted, entertaining, and fun. It's not side-splitting funny and not at all deep or profound.

Great songs. I just wish they sang the full versions. It was funny... had a little bit of everything. Big stars that I recognized, great talent. I absolutely love Kerry Butler. Small cast with some bigggg voices.

Thoroughly enjoyable farce, audience seemed remarkably enthusiastic about cheesy 70's music, fashion & themes...

    Hilarious!

by miels on 3/13/16Nederlander Theatre - New York

Absolutely hilarious show with so many memorable songs from the 70s. But even my 19 year old daughters thought it was great despite not being familiar with all the songs. For my sister and me, knowing all the music made it even funnier. Plus this show has a stellar cast with amazing performances and top notch Broadway vocalists!

    RUN DON'T WALK!!!

by UWSJohn on 3/13/16Nederlander Theatre - New York

To see "Disaster the Musical"! I laughed for two hours straight! The writing and direction is equally as brilliant as the cast! There is a nun character who will have you rolling in the isles!

    Zany fun!

by Mmmml on 3/13/16Nederlander Theatre - New York

DISASTER was a laugh out loud riot! Seth Rudesky cleverly inserted songs from the 70s and 80s in all the right places to fit in with, and propel the action. The hugely talented cast really had great voices,, particularly Adam Pascal, Kerry Butler, Rachel York and a newcomer Lacretta Nicole who can really belt out a song. The show was funny, zany, crazy with good songs and dancing. The boy, making his Broadway debut, was terrific playing twins: a boy and a girl...he handled the back and forth changes from boy to girl to boy to girl over and over deftly and cleverly. Faith Prince was hysterically funny when doing her tics and convulsions from her "disease". If you want to be hugely entertained and have loads of fun, then this is the show for you.

    Disaster- best new musical

by RayRedd on 3/12/16Nederlander Theatre - New York

Omg! I expected anything that Seth Rudetsky to be funny BUT, this is Hysterical! The music was great to sing along to, the actors were brilliant and the laughs kept coming! My face and stomach hurt from laughing so hard! Baylee Littrell as Ben/Lisa reminded me of Greater Tuna. So well done and funny! Faith Prince performance was priceless along with Jennifer Simard performance as the nun. These two women made the show but the rest of the cast was just as amazing! I hope it makes it BIG!

    Enjoyable Evening

by Molar32 on 3/12/16Nederlander Theatre - New York

Did not know what to expect but it turned out to be a very entertaining evening. The cast was wonderful. Great to hear the old songs. Plot was ridiculous but that was the purpose of the show. Seth Rudetsky did a great job writing , acting in and putting together this production.
