DIRTY LOOPS IN CONCERT:

It's hard to tell who has the most fun at a Dirty Loops concert. Is it the crowd, treated to a groovy set brimming with uniquely arranged pop fusion jams? Or is it the trio onstage, serving up a delicious cocktail of jazz and pop blended with '70s and '80s R&B funk? It's a toss-up, as the Swedish collective ensures their live performances are joyous and unforgettable experiences for everyone. Stellar musicianship takes center stage at the band's shows, which feature drummer Aron Mellergardh's powerhouse percussion skills alongside bassist Henrik Linder's slick bass lines. Helming the show is frontman Jonah Nilsson, whose piercing falsetto and huge range recall legends like Stevie Wonder and Curtis Mayfield. The top-notch production and polished arrangements of their recorded songs translate beautifully to the stage, and Dirty Loops continue to stun ticket buyers with note-perfect performances on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Bassist Henrik Linder, drummer Aron Mellergardh, and vocalist/keyboardist Jonah Nilsson formed Dirty Loops in 2008 while attending the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden. The trio's big break came when their version of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" racked up a whopping 100,000 views on YouTube in just two months. They followed it up with creative covers of pop songs by Justin Bieber, Adele, Rihanna, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberlake. The viral videos caught the attention of Swedish producer/songwriter Andreas Carlsson, who promptly signed them to a management deal. Producer/songwriter David Foster then signed the group to Universal Music subsidiary Verve Records and brought them on his 2012 Asian tour. The band released their debut album Loopified in 2014, which boasts two covers and 10 original tracks including standout single "Hit Me". Their 2014-2015 Loopified tour is taking them through Europe, the U.S., and Asia, delivering their energetic shows to crowds all over the world.

    Genuine and virtuosic performers

by My favorite band on 3/28/24Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

They're performance seemed so genuine. There was enough variation in their songs to keep my interest as well as crowd involvement (which I normally didn't care for,) and a sense that they love what they do. Could but recommend this band enough.

    AMAZING

by Bob on 3/27/24Paradise Rock Club presented by Citizens - Boston

It's been TEN Years since Dirty Loops has been to the US. Let's hope it won't be another 10 years until they come back!! The show was AMAZING! Jonah, Henrik, and Aron bring incredible energy, sick musicianship and true joy to the stage. I cannot stop thinking about or talking about this show. Bonus - I got to briefly chat with Henrik as he searched for dinner on the streets of Boston before the show. Please come back soon!

    Great Band. Oversold Room.

by Rob Braide on 3/25/24Le Studio TD - Montréal

Dirty Loops were great. Opener not so much. The promoter oversold the room. It was an uncomfortable experience.

    Fantastic performance, but bad mix

by Nick on 3/24/24The Opera House - Toronto

The recent Dirty Loops concert at the Opera House in Toronto, was a great experience. The band is top notch and I very much enjoyed seeing them. However... I'm unsure as to who produces the sound setup for the venue - I'm assuming the Opera House folks and not Dirty Loops' sound people as I've heard negative comments before about the sound at Opera House. Way Too Loud!!! I've played in bands my entire life so I'm used to things being "high intensity volume". But this was crazy. The kick drum was like a cannon going off and the low end just drowned everything out. Half the time, it was difficult to hear the lead singer. Only after when I watched some of the songs that filmed on my phone could I distinguish what was going on. I don't know... I don't want to complain too much as I did have a great time, but the mix was not good. I don't feel I'm alone in this view, as I've read elsewhere about the sound at that venue. Oh well. Other than that, a great night. Can't wait to see Dirty Loops again!

by FFFanForever on 11/13/14House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Dirty Loops is just as amazing live as their performances on YouTube and their CD! These guys have it all--energy, talent, professionalism. We attended the pre-show sound check and meet and greet-fun! Very relaxed informal atmosphere at the sound check/meeet and greet, and those guys were so welcoming and appreciative of their audience...can't say enuf good stuff about these guys...

    Down and Dirty

by MLoops8 on 11/13/14House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

These guys have mastered the art of putting on a show. The grooves are tight, all of the intricacies are preserved and performed with frenetic passion. Originally a trio, this unit tours with a fourth member to bring their hot tracks to life. These guys are all very charming as well.

    Dirty Loops lifts the Loft

by Atlantaoldguy on 11/5/14The Loft - Atlanta

Notwithstanding the fact that the Loft isn't the best place to watch a great band, Dirty Loops did not disappoint. I think half the crowd were either bass players or drummers - who after watching these brilliant musicians might give up! The band showcased the tunes from Loopified and some of their better covers and rocked the house for almost 2 hours. Hopefully with some more airtime and exposure via TV these guys can get more notoriety so that the next time they come to town they can pack a bigger and more comfortable venue. Great mix of ages and lots of Dads and sons. Dirty Loops transcend any genre!

Dirty Loops put on a great show!

by jazzbank on 11/3/14The Loft - Atlanta

They are not just able to groove on Youtube or the studio. These guys flat out tore the roof off live. Vocals were on point, keyboard solos were amazing; drums were tight; and bassist's chops didn't disappoint at all. Being in the lounge area meant that we got to be pretty up close (~16 ft. maybe?) and the band came out afterwards to hang, but didn't stick around for that.

    DL in ATL, GA

    by Barry1951 on 11/3/14The Loft - Atlanta

Huge sound for 4 guys (had an aux keyboard player with them) and most of it was played and sung live. One of the very best shows I've ever seen - tight, technically flawless, emotional and a great mix. Highlights for me were It Hurts (had me AND Jonah in tears) and The Way She Walks. We did the meet and greet, and the guys are super friendly and humble. If you get a chance, go see them while they're still playing smaller, more intimate venues.

    Dirty Loops....the truth

by Konglather on 11/2/14The Loft - Atlanta

These guys are the next big thing. Great show. The crowd consisted of kids, mature adults, and was across races. In the end; a great time!

    Dirty Loops on the rise!

by AJNA on 11/2/14The Loft - Atlanta

These guys are terrific - great musicians and great tunes. Lead vocals are great and the each of them (piano, bass and drums) are accomplished musicians. These guys can jam! Don't miss this group if they are in your area. This is easily the best new group I've heard in awhile.
