About
Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and more.

SOJA ROCKED!!!!!
by DubDiezel on 4/24/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5Now don't get me wrong Dirty Heads put on a good show, even though I thought the guys looked a bit tired, like the road was getting to them. Which I do believe after their St. Pete stop, it would be their last show before heading back west. My first time finally getting to see SOJA and they were OUTSTANDING!!!!!! Heavy bass lines over a massive Drummer who can drum and key board player who was great. The horn section rocked as well next to SOJA's lead singer and guitarst massive soulful speech. Next oportunity people get, check out SOJA!!!!! GREAT OVERALL SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Sick tight.
by BrealFTL on 4/24/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5DH was 50 son!!Soja is my new favorite 2nd band ! Whole night both bands ripped it.
Dirty heads shouldve been the main band
by Fsu4lyfe on 4/24/11Revolution Live - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5Can't beat the dirty heads. New politics were awesome! Dirty heads should've come last instead of soja They were the better band.
Soja was the real thing
by mockgenre on 4/24/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5I like to attend concerts whose performers I know little about. In this case three bands all entertaining though Soja superabounds. The first I can't remember Something Politics was fun to watch and kinda funny. They had a hard thumping bass and it took a minute before I realized no person was playing must have been sequenced. Anyway there act was cute. Soja went on second and there perfomance is one I'll see any time they come to GA. Reitcheous percussion and bass, hard hitting horns whoalso had great improv, and a great guitarist who manafactured a stimulating message. All around the best show I'll probably see all year. The Dirty Heads were tight not really my thing though.
Dirty Heads and SOJA melted my face!
by ChafeAllDay on 4/21/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5This show was siiiick! I saw Dirty Heads and Sublime at the Masquerade last year when they played outside/in the rain and this show somehow held its own....and by somehow I mean SOJA did work! Great combo of bands to see and the crowd was really into it. I would 100% recommend checking out both bands when they are near you. My face melted off....

by HippieBrittt on 4/21/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5Opening band, New Politics was pretty bomb. Soja was great. My main event was The Dirty Heads though. They're hella tight. Interact with the crowd, bomb music, chill vibe, they're exceptional live yo!

SOJA
by jaminben on 4/21/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5Soja blew the dirty heads off the stage. There was no comparison in musical talent. I was real surprised to see soja opening for them, but I guess thats what you get for a top 40 track. Otherwise Soja was incredible, the best reggae and horn display I have seen in a long time. The saxophonist reminded me of not to long ago Morphine. Very Good.
Such an awesome show!
by Candacerose3 on 4/21/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5This show was incredible! I love all their music, so I of course wish they had played every song. I love how people were pulled on stage to sing with the band. Awesome to know they know how to have a good time. Will be at their next show in Atlanta for sure.
The Dirty Heads Rocked It!
by 11camk on 4/20/11Northern Lights - Clifton ParkRating: 5 out of 5Amazing perfomance, amazing musicians, they engage the audience, I didn't want it to end. Great music, and a good time!
Awesome show!
by myfishpablo on 4/20/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5The guys were ON IT in Atlanta! Great show and they kept the crowd rockin'. Would definitely recommend to anyone to check these guys out. The smaller venue was ideal- the Masquerade is awesome!
Love love love
by Mandahips on 4/15/11Crocodile Rock - AllentownRating: 5 out of 5Dirty Heads sucha sucha fabulous show!!! Loved it!
Good Show
by jammom1 on 4/15/11Crocodile Rock - AllentownRating: 3 out of 5I really enjoy seeing shows in smaller venues, but the sound system was off at the Croc that night. While we could really hear the instruments clearly, the vocals were really distorted. We could see the singers getting frustrated with the sound. Over all good time!
HELL YES
by ezzbeedee on 4/14/11Crocodile Rock - AllentownRating: 5 out of 5The venue is sick and the Dirty Heads are AMAZING. Ballyhoo! and New Politics brought the house down too. I can't wait to see them all again.
New Politics and Ballyhoo kicked it!
by cwpost on 4/13/11The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 4 out of 53rd time seeing the Dirty Heads, first time for Echo Movement (very cool, like the chill sound), Ballyhoo! (AWESOME!) and the New Politics (So much energy, rocked the house!). So, all in all I think the opening acts were very good and Dirty Heads had a lot to do to keep up with them. The Dirty Heads didn't disappoint, just ready for some new stuff from them, like I said, it was the 3rd time for me, and well, same old same old, with very few twists.
The Dirty Heads (Northern Lights- Clifton Park)
by Boostud on 4/10/11Northern Lights - Clifton ParkRating: 5 out of 5Amazing show. I have loved The Dirty Heads and New Politics for a while now so it was a no brainer to come see them. Ballyhoo was a surprise to me. I was unaware they were playing until I arrived. I must say that BALLYHOO completely rocked it! They are an awesome band and fit perfectly with this tour. Everyone should pick up a copy of their cd and make time to listen to them.
Jam session all night!
