About

Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared Watson (Dirty J) and Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in 2001 and immediately evoked the spirit of bonfire barbeques and summer road trips. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, and more.

  • Awesome show! But ticketmaster is still the worst.

by EJ on 7/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The show was insanely good. One of the best bands on the planet. You know what, 4 artists played over 5 hours of music. Dirty Heads always tries to keep the price down for their fans as well. BUT... $59 bucks for a ticket and $23 in fees. Oh, and if you can't make it and want to sell, they will take another 20 bucks in fees out of the resale. All for posting it on a site with an algorithm and absolutely 0 customer service. For what? So the top 3 execs can buy another summer home? This is criminal. I'll be happy when there is more competition in the ticket space and we don't have to be subject to this monopoly.

  • Hello to the Island Glow

by Sublimeric on 7/17/23Rating: 5 out of 5

My 23rd time seeing DH since 2010 & they never put on a bad show. A great mix of old hits, fan favorites and new tracks from their most recent album filled the 90 minute set. The addition of a horn section has breathed new life into older songs, while adding an extra punch to new tracks, too. Crowd involvement is a big piece of the puzzle too, with the audience enthusiastically singing classics like “Sloth’s Revenge” while also knowing every word to 2022 single “Life’s Been Good.” Don’t miss DH live!

  • Always amazing

by Sarah on 7/17/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The Dirty Heads put on an amazing shoe every single time. This time we had our 9 year old niece with us, who has grown up listening to them and knows all of the words. She was jamming the whole show and at the end Duddy even handed her the set list with one of his guitar pics. Wicked nice gesture and she hasn't stopped talking about it since!

  • Great show

  • Awesome

Dirtyheads always crush their live performances, never disappointed. I've seen them probably 15+ times in concert and each time they're amazing!!

  • What. A. Show!!!!

by Elicia on 7/17/23Rating: 5 out of 5

As usual the Dirty Heads did not disappoint! The new venue, MGM Music Hall at Fenway, was absolutely amazing! I highly recommend it for a show. The set up was great, there wasn't a bad seat in the house and the audio was clear and perfect. 10/10!!

  • Tropidelic stole the show

by FanGirl!! on 7/13/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I love seeing Dirty Heads, every time! But Trop was my main reason for going. These boys are on the rise! Thanks for a great show! I can't wait to see you again. Love, A McGill.

  • An amazing show!

by Kimberly on 7/12/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I got tickets for this show for myself and my pre-teen granddaughter. We went with my son, daughter in law and grandson. It was her first concert and our favorite band. We had so much fun! The look on her face was priceless when Dirty Heads took the stage. About half way through the concert, security moved us from our lawn area to the pavilion and much closer to the stage. That was the icing on the cake for all of us! Will definitely go back to the TCU Amphitheater!!!

  • Long Live DH!!

by Mrs. Vandertuin on 7/12/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I will never miss a show that I can physically and financially make it to. Dirty Heads always bring a party and never disappoint! This last show we upgraded to meet and greet and let me tell you IT WAS WORTH IT! Meeting the band was surreal and an experience I will never forget. They were SO NICE and chatted with us for a bit, even joked at the fact we named our dog DUDDY! The openers were excellent and really got the crowd pumped for the big show. I can't wait to see them next year at Red Rocks! That's the plan anyway. Thanks you, Dirty Heads, for always giving the fans 110% every show! LONG LIVE DIRTY HEADS!!

  • Great show

by indyDHfan on 7/11/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I have been to many Dirty Heads concerts. Loved them all but this one started with very high energy and they didn't let up. The crowd all seemed to like it as much as I was. Truly a great way to spend an evening. Can't wait to see them again!

  • Over all great experience

by Turtle on 7/11/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Band was amazing Venue was great The primer parking we paid for was useless ,they didn’t charge anyone to park in the same area as us. Besides that will definitely go again

  • Pre Dirty Heads music sucked!

by MEDUSA SMOKE on 7/10/23Rating: 3 out of 5

What ever music DH played before they came out was awful. Wasn’t cohesive and didn’t amp ppl up for the show…some Irish music perhaps? Just awful.

  • The Sub-par Audio in the Pit

by Midwest Masty on 7/10/23Rating: 3 out of 5

We've been coming to White River for years now and have had multiple experiences in the pit. What I've come to notice is that the front facing speakers on the front of the stage aren't turned on at all for the opening acts. There are arguments that it's to preserve wattage and not blow a fuse/speaker prior to the headliner, but how does that translate to the people who spend the money to get into the pit? Maybe one of the openers is their favorite act...the one the came to see, only to get horrible sound from the stage. It happened for the openers this last weekend, Tropidelic and G-Love & Special Sauce. You couldn't hear vocals at all and it was terrible. For the Dirty Heads, miraculously, the sound was corrected and the speakers were turned on. The same thing has happened in the past when seeing Sublime, the sound in the pit was terrible. I'll go so far as to say that I've only really had a good experience in the pit during Billy Strings, which is arguably due to the different music genre, board mix levels, etc. I'm just trying to wrap my head around not giving the people who spend money on pit ticket a better experience. I can honestly say that I am not sure I'll buy pit tickets here again. Everything else at the venue is great...no complaints.

  • Ridiculously Awesome

by Emmyfish on 7/10/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Dirty Heads put on an incredible show, and the staff at TCU, from the crew at the gate to the security guard giving out water in the pit, was wonderful. Tropidelic was a perfect choice for an opener, but G Love was not great and played for far too long.

  • Trop/ Dirty Heads

  • Always a blast!

by Sheila Parker on 7/9/23Rating: 5 out of 5

We brought our kids along to their first DH show. They had the very best time, and sang their little hearts out. The guys sounded amazing. High energy. Can't wait until next time.

  • Best show so far of summer concert season.

by Felicity on 7/9/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I'm going to break this review down into a timeline of events: 1. Parking. We parked in the amphitheater's parking garage. It felt safe and was a short distance from the entrance. The elevator smelled bad (like someone had used it as toilet) and the price was kinda high ($30) but not outrageous for downtown. 2. Entering. We had general admission tickets but entered through the VIP gate. There was no wait time and all of the staff was amazing and got us in quickly. 3. The lawn. The lawn at TCU is a very intimate setting and there is no bad "seat"in house. We got there while the first act was playing and was able to get a spot close to the rail. 4. Tropidelic. I love their vibe and their music. They always put on a good show and I hope to see them back for future shows. Also the members interacted with the crowd after the show and seem like genuinely nice people. 5. G Love and the Special Sauce. This was the opening act for The Dirty Heads and I would have easily paid the full price of the ticket just to see them alone. G Love has such a great energy and unique style. He is so fun to watch and got everyone in the perfect mood to see Dirty Heads. 6. Dirty Heads. This was the main event. Their energy was phenomenal. Their live performances never disappoint and this past show was no exception. 7. The restrooms. They were clean and did not have a long line at all. Soap dispensers, paper towels, toilet paper - all fully stocked. Sink water was the right temperature for hand washing. 8. Food and beverage. I did not buy or eat any of the food but that Ardy's food truck smelled amazing. I did buy 2 cans of wine and it was reasonably priced and I did not have to wait in a long line. Kati is a great bartender. 9. Staff. The staff at TCU is the friendliest and best staff out of any concert venue I've ever been to. Logan (who worked the VIP gate) was especially helpful and friendly as he greeted us upon entry and then later in the evening helped one of our friends find her keys. Logan is a huge asset to your organization and I hope you continue to hire young people like him. His friendly attitude, helpfulness, and genuine spirit encompasses what it means to have "Hoosier hospitality". I go to a lot of concerts and festivals. This show was the 25th one I've been to all year and it was hands down the best experience so far.

  • Great!

The dirty heads are truly an amazing group. I am genuinely happy I got to experience them live.

  • I was “So Glad I Made it’

by CarrieJ on 7/9/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Dirty Heads definitely brought the energy, filling the venue with good vibes, and providing its fans with the perfect soundtrack for a beautiful summer night. I could see this show over and over again.
