About

Beloved British singer-songwriter Dido continues to enchant fans around the world with her soothing vocals and inspiring collection of pop hits. Her soft voice and humble stage presence belie her status as one of Britain's most successful female artists of all time, and her unassuming demeanor is the perfect complement to sensitive tracks like "Thank You" and "White Flag". A gifted performer who's shared the stage with artists as wide-ranging as Eminem and Santana, Dido always brings the house down with her thoughtful songs and passionate delivery on tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Dido was born Dido Florian de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong in London on Christmas day 1971. She was interested in music from an early age, and after stealing a recorder from school at age five her parents enrolled her in a music program. After learning the piano and violin she began to record demos with her producer brother Rollo, and before long she had landed a deal with Arista Records. She made her album debut in 1999 with No Angel, an international sensation that topped the charts in five countries and launched her to superstardom with hit singles like "Here with Me" and "Thank You". Her 2003 sophomore album Life for Rent was another success, topping charts around the world and going on to sell more than 13 million copies. After releasing her Grammy-nominated third album Safe Trip Home, Dido took a hiatus from the spotlight. She returned in 2013 with her fourth album Girl Who Got Away, a critical and commercial success that she supported with another acclaimed world tour.

    Great show

by D. N. on 6/24/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

I'd seen live videos of Dido performing and was not let down in the slightest. She sounds amazing live, and songs that sound mellow on the record become alive and full of energy when she performs.

    Dido

by m.lombardi on 6/22/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

Dido sounded phenomenal, but the venue was awful. We couldn't see the show at all. No matter where we went on the mezzanine. The screens they had were subpar at best. The rating was for Dido, only. Venue would get a 1.

Excellent show at House of Blues Boston

by First time seeing Dido on 6/20/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

Having never been to the House of Blues Boston before, I had no idea what to expect. Getting there early enough, and eating at their restaurant to "jump the line," I was able to get to stand front and center with one row of people in front of me before the stage. While I had to deal with a tall guy who was like an amoeba, moving all over the place during the whole show, jumping up and down, thrusting back and swaying left and right, I was still able to find angles to look around this fan in front to enjoy the show. I was pleasantly surprised on how great a show Dido put on, the first concert I'd ever seen her perform. It was certainly a thumping show, much more than I expected, and I was pleasantly surprised. The show was in a packed house, even on a Monday night, and Dido did a great mix of some of her older songs, as well as banging out many of her awesome tunes from her newest album. I definitely want to see her again in concert, but will likely look for concert seating over standing room for my next show.

    Simply Amazing

by Bobo on 6/20/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

I have seen hundreds, probably over a thousand, concerts. This one places near the top of the list. Dido is as amazing, if not better, than she was 20 years ago.

DIDO @ HOUSE OF BLUES BOSTON

by SKIP on 6/20/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

DIDO WAS EXCELLENT!!!! Played all the songs that I enjoy and love so much. (LIFE FOR RENT, THANK YOU, SAND IN MY SHOES, SEE YOU WHEN YOUR 40, HERE WITH ME, WHITE FLAG) She added some new stuff in and never missed a beat. (HURRICANE, GIVE YOU UP) ... See for yourself on YouTube lot of phones up in the air. Boston House of Blues was a good venue to be as close up as you wanted and the music sounded crisp. It was a very special night for me seeing Didos show, always have wanted to. She rarely makes her way here. If you get the chance to see her perform dont waist it .... GO!

    Amazing!

by A. S. on 6/20/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

The venue was great and friendly. The show was amazing and Dido was and is simply the best. Great performance and so touching and powerful voice. Loved it. The only thing I have to complain is.. the ticket said show at 7, but it was actually the door opened at 7. They should’ve had said the show would starts at 9 with a pre performer at 8:30. Rea Mia was great as well.

    Lovely

by DJ Belle on 6/20/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

An evening of amazing music. Dido and her entire band were perfect. She engaged with the audience without it taking away from her music. Her set list mixed her older offerings with the great tracks off of her new album smoothly. Lighting was spot on... Simple screens with vibrant images matching the mood of the music. Behind one of the screens was the amazing Jody Linscott with her vast array of percussion instruments highlighting the rhythm in Dido's songs.

    This was an amazing concert!!!

by L. H. on 6/20/19House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

I had tickets to the VIP room, which was beyond great, I got to dine in a cool place with DIDO fans, and then the concert... she was so great. It was packed, standing room only, but on the Mezzanine level I could still be close, one of the other fans even let me in front of her so I was literally leaning on the railing watching in amazement as she performed. I loved that. She sang some of my favorite songs, in a clear crisp voice. She is a natural performer, so at ease and so energetic. I loved every moment of this concert. I wish I could have followed her to NYC and seen that as well. She didn't have a microphone strapped to her head, which I really appreciated, there was no jumping around and acting, just honesty with great lights and scenes in the background. Pure. I guess that is the best way to describe her performance. Honest, beautiful and poignant.

Dido was lovely! Very personable on stage and she and her band were amazing. Music was bang on from her old hits to some new great songs. A very pleasant surprise for us was her opening act Ria Mae - what a talent!
