The performers were all very talented, but if you were going to see them based off what you saw on America’s Got Talent, you will probably be disappointed. It was much more dance and less acrobatics.
I guess they pulled out all the stops when they were on AGT. This was a lot of "modern dance" but the boat in the second half was great but still not a dramatic as they were on AGT.
Diavolo was good, short and LOUD! I've been to lots of loud concerts and shows, but this was so loud it was uncomfortable. I actually used my finger to plug my one ear for the first half of the show. I wish I had ear plugs. It actually took away from the show.
Very disappointing 1hr (!) show. I will first say that I was enthralled with seeing them on the TV show AGT & was very excited with the expectation of seeing them in person. The three very simple dance sequences were just that, simple, lasting just 1/2 hr - nothing special about the dances or the music. Then there was a 20 min. break and they were back with another rather long and boring 1/2 hr of the same movements over & over. Again, nothing special at all for the entire show. And a very expensive show for what was delivered.
Nothing like what was on AGT. Mostly ballet and dance numbers. Overdone and very disappointing.
I think we were all expecting what we saw Diavolo do on America's Got Talent. It was more of a dance show. The entire first 1/2 was dancing with opera music. The second half was better more geared to what they did on AGT. The dancers and music were excellent but I was looking more for the excitement they did a AGT. Also Count Basie Stage I don't think was big enough for them to do some of thier acts.
We loved the show. It wasn’t exactly like AGT, but that’s understandable! The talent was amazing! Music was a little loud and muffled. That may be the venue though, hopefully they can improve it.
They started 10 minutes late, did 4 dances over 25 minutes, only one of which was interesting. They too a 20 minutes intermission. Came back with 30 minutes of the big rocking thing from AGT, which was cool, but eventually got boring. Then it was over. Too short for the price I paid for the ticket. It never was exciting. Disappointing
Had feeling, excitement, beauty and passion all rolled into to different performances! Highly recommend going to see them any time that you can!
Having seen Diavolo on AGT, I was excited about seeing a live performance. It was in town and somewhat affordable. After I purchased the tickets, a point of no return, I Googled Diavolo and to my surprise found them to be a long established troupe of over two decades in performance. Not the young talent I had assumed. I don't think I would have bought the tickets if I had known. So the day arrives...the audience finds out Diavolo has been to Springfield before and no one there knew. I appreciate dancing but I was hoping for some AGT bits and didn't get them. I cannot do what those dancers did. It's beautiful and breathtaking at points, but lacked what enthralled me about the AGT performances and did not include current popular music.
As most audience members I had seen Diavolo on AGT. I guess with limited time the act had to pull out all stops and present their best routine. I was expecting more acrobatics than dance. Loved the venue. Did enjoy the evening however just a little disappointed.
We went because we enjoyed seeing Diavolo on America's Got Talent but their show was not the type of talent they did for the talent show. They are so limber its unbelievable. So much energy that they generate on stage. The story they were giving us was very somber I guess its just not my type of entertainment . I would suggest before anyone goes check then out on You Tube and make your decision .
We saw their 25th anniversary show with the Veterans Project Part 2, and it was incredible. Modern dance, movable props that are constantly being used in different ways, flying bodies, and the Veterans Project Piece was so poignant. We would definitely see them again!
The first act bordered on boring. The second act was better.
We were very disappointed with this show. It was nothing like the performances they do on TV (AGT). There was hardly any of the jumping, spinning, leaping, catching, and other acrobatics, which is what we thought we were paying to see. The entire first act was so boring I literally almost nodded off. I don't even know how to describe it. The performers were on stage and moving in a choreographed way with props, but it wasn't even dancing. Movement is the only word I can think of. They would NOT have made it to the finals of AGT with this show. Not recommended at all.
We thought Diavolo was an amazing experience. You MUST see their art in motion!
It was one of the best shows that I have ever seen. I would give it a 10, the use of the props and the talent of the Diavolo dancers could not have been any better. A must see for anyone.
The act was NOTHING like what they had featured on America's Got Talent...a high school production at best. I couldn't wait for it to end. Those with me fell asleep.
I did not like the performance. I thought it was a waste of time and money. Very boring like watching paint dry.
We went to this show expecting to see the AMAZING DIAVOLO that we watched on America's Got Talent. What we got was boring, not entertaining, confusing and not at all what was sold to us on the commercials shown during America's Got Talent. If DIAVOLO had done either Cubicles or Passengers during the AGT show, they would never have gone past week one and I predict they would have gotten more than one 'X'. This crew was beyond amazing on AGT. We couldn't wait to see what they would do every week. This show was just plain disappointing. I would NOT recommend it and I can now understand WHY when they asked at the beginning of the show how many were back again from their first appearance at the PAC, I didn't see many hands go up at all. Ummmmm - boring perhaps?? There were 'tween's in the audience and I am pretty darn sure they had no idea what they were watching. You won't see me at another DIAVOLO show. Where was the flying, the movement, the wheel and the ark?? Just not entertaining at all. Couldn't wait for it to be over with......
