One of the best experiences of my life, the music was incredible. the vibes were strong and positive, a night I'll never forget.
As Me and my significant other arrive to cool & hip Music Hall of Williamsburg venue, we are appropriately mobbed by 50 or so tortoise shell framed apparent fans of the Banhart & Little Joy camps. Unfortunately for them, cool didn't get them tickets to an awesome show by both these respectable performers. I held my drink at the stage and watched great music late into the night with my ex-girlfriend, in hopes that D.B. would seal the deal and get us back where we need to be. Needless to say they are our favorite band for the last 2 years, which was just enough to get us in, and earn Me Mack Daddy points!! "Love Is Light Ignited!" screamed Devendra. And yes, everyone was invited. Hope to see you soon. A-mazing.
true music at its truly musical best. Showed a vast range of Banhart's repetoire, and proved to be an incredible show. Would have been better seated, which was initially planned, but considering the circumstances, I'm glad the show went on!
Devendra stole my heart. For a skinny little man he has some incredible dance moves and golden socks.
The concert was great. First of all the acoustic of the venue is really good. Sounds very well. The Little joyce, the guest artist, did a great concert as well. But devendra...that potencial drums! and that magnificant and unbelieveble voice... specially they are very good friendS and you can notice that on the atmosphere. PERFECT VENUE PERFECT SOUND PERFECT BANDS. (just I wish the whole band play more)
As parents of teens who get dragged as the driver to many concerts, I have to say this one was really fantastic. Almost two non-stop hours of entertainment from a group of 5 talented guys who seemed to have a lot of fun on stage. I knew Banhart's vocals were outstanding since I hear it floating around the house all the time. And even though he did not do my favorite song, I didn't miss it and the pace and flow of the show was just outstanding. I didn't mind getting home after midnight!
Fortunately the show was moved to the TLA, which is my favorite venue. He and the band sounded great vocally and musically. Devendra Banhart is a such a cool guy, and he so weird. The chemistry between the band members was electric, you can tell these guys really enjoy playing together. The bassist (whose name I can't remember at the moment) and Noah Georgeson each played a song of their own and they were good as well. He played a good set, although I could tell that some people weren't into the mellow numbers as much as I was. Then again, no matter what concert I've been to people can never just watch the show, they have to talk the whole time and text on their phones. And no I'm not a grouchy old guy ragging on young kids, I'm only 23. I know other people feel the same way. That aside it was a great show. I would give it five stars personally since I really dig his music.
i was pretty excited for this show, and i have to admit, it's probably the best concert i've ever been to! he's amazing recorded, but he's even better live. Devendra seems to go out of his way to please his fans and after the 3 or 4 hour show, happily played the encore everyone was screaming for. he took requests and did some of his band members' songs. the whole vibe of the show was awesome, plenty of dancing and screaming and singing and just plain fun. this show is sure to be the first of many devendra shows for me :) cuz he's just that good (and cute!)
Devendra is a true artist, his voice is so dynamic and powerful. You can feel the love and positive vibrations generated by the sounds of his voice. I loved the way the musical lineup flowed. The transitions were well thought out ,and fit the mood perfectly. Overall a great preformer and I would love to see him perform again. I didnt want him to stop I could have listened to him all night.
"This show was BANGIN,man'." Got to meet Lucky and Devendra himself! yeyeah
the sound was kind of muddy but the music was beautiful.
Devendra is super cute. the best is his solo - just guitar and himself, no noise, nothing. be in the sphere. he is really something. xxx only dislike the girls screaming and went crazy. wait when he taken off the shirt... xxx oh well, life is beautiful if we see it...
devendra was awesome!!! the band was amazing. i was able to zone out and really feel the music, sober!!!! i cant wait for the next show. love you
I laughed and cried...truly moving experience. An artist to be wreckened with
Couldn't have asked for a better show. Devendra's love for life and his friends is inspirational. I cried it was so good.
Devendra was awesome live. I can't wait to see him again and hopefully get better seats. One problem was the audience. I didn't think Devendra would attract such a sheepish crowd of people. I saw a lot of "hipsters" and people that literally sat and watched the show.
Little Joy, a group I hadn't known before this evening was very entertaining. A great opener for Devendra Banhart and apparently close friends... the lead singer accompanied Banhart for much of his act and they blended seamlessly. Devendra, dubbed by some as "the king of the new weird america" movement was accessible and enjoyable for even an unfamiliar audience. For those of us who were long-time fans of his work it was an incredible night. The incredible music aside, Devendra's quirky personality brought another level of energy to the performance-- bouncing and gyrating around the stage, punctuating his storytelling abilities and communicating with the audience. All in all a high energy performance enjoyable to any lovers of quality music. Glad I was there.
loved it, devendra was totally great and so was the rest of the band first part was good too amazing experience all together
good location, great performance, impeccable music
The show was moving, inspirational, and corky. Devendra's voice is phenomenal and he keeps you entertained the whole time.
