Denver Nuggets History
One of the founding teams of the American Basketball Association in 1967, the Denver Nuggets franchise was originally known as the Denver Rockets. They preemptively changed their name to the Nuggets before the 1974–75 season, anticipating a move to the NBA (where Houston’s team already had the name). In their nine ABA seasons, the Nuggets made the playoffs seven times — losing in the finals to the New York Nets in the league's final year.
They were one of four ABA teams annexed to the NBA in 1976 and immediately were one of the most successful teams, winning the Midwest Division two straight years behind future Hall of Famers David Thompson and Dan Issel. In 1980, the arrival of another future Hall of Famer, high-scoring forward Alex English, began a run of nine consecutive seasons in the playoffs. Coach Doug Moe's offensive-minded squads made it past the first round of the playoffs four times, falling three times in the conference semifinals and once in the conference finals, in 1985 to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The team had only one winning season in the 1990s, but it was a memorable one. After finishing 42-40 to sneak into the playoffs as the eighth seed in the 1993–94 season, they upset the top-seed Seattle Supersonics in the first round of the playoffs, thanks in no small part to center Dikembe Mutombo's heroics.
Led by 2003 first-round draft pick Carmelo Anthony, the Nuggets reversed their fortunes to post 10 straight winning seasons beginning with the 2003–04 season. The Nuggets won their first NBA championship in 2023, led by two-time league MVP and Finals MVP Nikola Jokić, who collected his third regular season MVP in 2024.

OneCourt devices use haptic technology, or trackable vibrations, to relay key events and spatial positioning of the ball so you can feel the game-play with your fingertips! As the ball moves, you will feel vibrations across the surface of the device moving beneath your fingers to replicate the ball position in real time. Our device also generates short Audio Bites so you can plug in headphones directly into the device and listen while you feel the gameplay.
Great guest relations; good food. Great seats, fun entertainment!
It was a once in a lifetime watch party event! Best way to close it off is by a total sweep by the Nuggets. As always, the arena entertained and the audience was loving it. Would go again.
This was a great experience, great seats and such a WIN all around. Should be something done for all away games if it’s not already a thing.
Really a fun time, especially in the second half when the crowd really got into the game and we all were screaming in delight at the conclusion of the game with the Nuggets winning the game!
Watching the Nuggets on the big screen at Ball Arena sweep LA and move onto the NBA Championship for the first time in team history was electric! The crowd cheered as if the Nuggets were playing on home court. Watch parties are a great idea! Tickets were only $10 anywhere you sat and parking was free. I saw so many families at the game and little ones cheering loud, it was fun to see. Thank you for keeping prices low! This is my second watch party, the first was cheering on the Avalanche last year and I plan on attending more! Go Nuggets!
I loved attending the watch party, and our Denver Nuggets are amazing. Five stars for that. The app worked well for ticket transfer and use. Ticketmaster’s stranglehold on ticket sales for live events and the back door pre-sales are complete garbage and undermine fans’ joy in the events. Zero stars for that.
So much fun cheering on the Nuggets with other Nuggets fans! Family friendly and lived the free parking. It was a great experience and we would absolutely go back.
The watch party was really special! My 6 and 9 year old loved it too. It was really spectacular to feel that sense of community vibrating through the arena! Memories were made!
Jackie Jackson is an usher at Nuggets watch party on May 22, 2023. She heard my party of 4 talking about the sell-out and how I needed HC seating--I walk with a cane and my friend was limping from a recent injury. Jackie said she would see what she could do. After the game started she ushered us to HC seating for my whole party of 4. She checked on us from time to time during the game...it made our evening perfect, thanks to Jackie..what a kind thing to do for us.
Thanks for having a watch party. It was an affordable way for us to participate in the Nuggets run to the championship. We probably can't swing tickets to a home game but we had so much fun with all the other fans at the watch party. The hype squad was great and the energy was so fun.
Man it was so fun!!The only thing that was missing was the players!! The atmosphere was electric
This is the absolute best way to watch a game if you can't attend live!
Had a great time even though our seats were as one says noise bleeds we didn’t miss out still had a great view the energy in the building was amazing all fans were great
I been supporting the Nuggets throughout the playoffs on buying tickets. They playing lakers in LA AND I bought watch party tickets at ball arena people I took only have cash and because that I had to pay for everything. ITS RIDICULOUS THAT BALL ARENA IS NOT ACCEPTING CASH TO BUY FOOD OR BEER. Very disappointed on that regard.
The most amazing time and the process at the stadium was seamless and quick. Only feedback I have is that I brought tickets with my NZ card and got 2 emails from fraud prevention (which is great) BUT they didn’t answer the phone 4 times I called nor returned after my voice message and there was no email
Was fun vibe I would come back again thank you ticket master
This arena is really nice however the seats are a bit on the small side. Views were great and I will definitely come back. Bathrooms were clean and entrance to venue was very organized.
Nice very convenient i really enjoy the experience and i am happy
It was my first time at an NBA game and in the Ball Arena. It was a great event and experience, the show, and atmosphere were unbelievable. The organization was also on a high level - so my overall impression is only positive. I highly recommend it!
I have been a Nuggets fan since the ABA days. In recent years, I have flown to Denver to watch 2-3 games per season. Fortunately, the team will be a yearly contender with Joker, Jamal, and MPJ leading the way. Both playoff Game 5's were awesome...great atmosphere, great seats, and Nugget wins! Thanks Ticketmaster for your great service, great seats, and winning basketball by the Nuggets!
