Lines for concessions and drinks is ridiculous. They need to use all their space more wisely. Get more help for the biggest event of the year! People that can handle it better but not work them to death. Parking is always a problem. Getting there early is getting old.
Good demolition Derby however wish a lot of the guys would try to scratch thier paint. And put on a show.... I mean that would be a true winner
This was my first time going to this event and it was amazing! One of the best shows I have ever been to. Highly recommended.
Very friendly people there and very helpful and just a overall great experience.
Such a huge show, and always a great one. Some much needed organization needs to happen for parking. Trucks and Trailer are very large these days and need space not only to park but to maneuver. I’d like to see water hook ups for available for camping or atleast be known there will be none. Pit passes seemed to be no help for the extra $25 per ticket. Otherwise great show and of course will be back
Was there Tuesday morning, couldn't leave because of all the traffic in the parking lots. The tents took up a lot of room for parking.
Show was absolutely amazing, top notch facilities. This is the best demolition derby in the country!!!!
Best night ever and amazeing thing to go to and would recommend it to anybody
Demo derby arena was half the size it should have been, then they put 13 full size cars in there. They could not drive around each other, not enough room. Most demo derbys vote on "Best Hit"; not this one because there were no good hits. All the cars could do was rub against each other. My 12 year old daughter said "this is boring, this is going to take forever, they don't know how to do Demo Derbys in Iowa" Must have been the announcers first derby, because he declared it over with four cars still moving. If not for the figure 8 race I'd be asking for my money back. There was a large concert screen set up blocking one end of the figure eight race. Ridiculous whoever put this show together.
My kids went and had a blast. I bought the tickets for them.
Demolition Derby was good - last race with the female driver was the best. She drove the heck out of the car and and was a true competitor and champion. We all applauded her commitment, sportsmanship and courage. She drove the heck out of the car and and was a true competitor and champion. We all applauded her commitment, sportsmanship and courage. Applaud all the drivers in the Demolition Derby Figure Eight track was small - uneventful Car roll over was good - Need a bigger track - the dual track racing was different
I would buy tickets to attend another Figure 8/Demo Derby again. I realize that this was the 1st year for the Figure 8 races at the State Fair. Hopefully next year there will be more cars and the flaws will be worked out. Jim Mohr does a nice job.
HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE DEMO DERBY AND FIGURE 8 RACES. ALSO LIKE THE ROLLOVER CONTEST!! WOULD GO AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
We were disappointed in the show. While it was 3 hrs and only about $20 per ticket they only used under half the track and it was split between demo and figure 8 races. At one of the demo's they had 17 cars in this super small area. The county fair shows are much better.
even with a muddy track, the event was very entertaining
Great show. Lots of banging and crashing. Will return next year.
