Loved everything about the day!!! So sad that this is the last of WGC-DELL TECHNOLOGIES MATCH PLAY…
Shuttle to tournament was slightly painful due to TX traffic but that was to be expected. Paid for the Michelob tent upgrade with covered viewing of the 12th hole which was nice, until we learned that they ran out of food by 2:30 in the afternoon. Drinks of any kind were outrageously priced. All in all likely wouldn’t do it again.
Great event at an outstanding venue. Awesome fan experience-friendly, professional staff, great viewing areas without special access and great golf. Professional golf needs to be in Austin annually.
It is a great course.Bussing experience was not good.We waited 30 minutes for pickup before ordering a LYFT. We were shuffled onto wrong bus for return. The bus driver there was unresponsive to our problem when she could have easily helped us
Awesome experience everything was well organized staff was extremely helpful
The WGC Dell Match Play tournament experience was everything I hoped to find. The course volunteers were terrific. They had answers to questions and provided ample help. The people around the course were friendly. The weather was beautiful, and the golf itself was outstanding.
Love the venue Love the ease of purchasing tickets last September for this event in March. I would like to know why for people like me when we purchase the entire week that we do not get a badge or something so that we don't have to keep up with 5 days of tickets? I imagine the reason is IF we don't use it for one particular day then we COULD "sell" it or transfer it through y'all? We had a problem on 1 day where the person checking in my son scanned BOTH of his printed out tickets. He lives in Austin and I was coming up from San Antonio. I anticipated this potential problem and brought both of that day's tickets, knowing that if they scanned one and it was rejected then that would have been the one he used and I would use the other.......BUT, as I said above that person scanned both. Luckily, the Will Call people believed my story and printed me out a Day Pass for free.
For me years I have been watching the PGA and I finally got to see the greatest players in one place to play the game. So much fun watching the players making the impossible shots. I would certainly go again.
Food choices and friendly service made the day much more enjoyable. Just a great experience all round!
Paid extra for the ultra club option. On Friday 29th of March, power was out for about 4 hours in the tent- no private tv, no food (which was the same as any concession outside the tent anyway, and no air conditioning. These were 3 of the things I had paid extra for in the first place. Also, had to leave a bag in the bag check, and they closed before I came out of watching the tournament. There was no parking near the bag check so I had to come back 2 days later and have my wife wait for me in the car while I went to pick it up- pretty ridiculous. Tournament itself was great, but the experience in general was marred by these things
I’ve been to 20 tournaments throughout my life and Dell Match Play makes it challenging to get drinks, food and go to the bathroom. They have to improve on providing more convenient locations across the grounds. A patron should not have to wait over 20 minutes to get a beer (yes, that happened). The food is great, but it is located at one central “hub” on the back 9. The bathrooms are at the same location as the food. Let’s not forget to mention that the drink prices are pretty steep. $12 for a small cocktail. I’m used to paying higher prices for some adult beverages at sporting events but DMP/WGC is trying to take the honors here.
Beautiful golf course, and great golfers. But the bathrooms for the patrons are disgusting! They are not cleaned throughout the day and are filthy. The water to wash hands runs out mid morning and never gets refilled. The bathrooms (“portapotties”) truly are a health hazard. They need to be managed better.
Horrible shuttle experience back to the Tony Burger parking site...TRAFFIC!!!
Bought the tickets hedging that Tiger would show up and he did. Walked the whole round with him. Was able to be at 15 of 18 holes to see him play. Brandt was not to shabby either.
Should have another entrance for the public besides the one by the bridge. Many people missed the opportunity to see golf near the actual clubhouse as it was too far to walk. Not enough staff handling concession stands, created very long lines 15-20 deep.
Loved the tournament experience; however, our printed tickets would not scan and created more waiting for a solution.....wasn’t just our tickets, but saw several people waiting for help. Besides that problem, Ticketmaster seemed ok.
The caliber of players makes the top of my list. Tiger playing added extra excitement. The talent and camaraderie among the players was such a pleasant experience in today's sports world. The food was varied and good. Bussing from outlying parking was well organized and worked well. Course volunteers were all helpful and organized. Complimentary sunscreen was a very nice touch. Seeing Tom Kite in the audience was great; I am a proud local. Ed Clements did a good job. The program size and content was very helpful. TV coverage very good. I could only do one day, Wednesday, and loved it. Be back next year.
Plan your trip. Go a little later in the morning to miss the early bus crowd. And stay till 6 pm to reduce bus travel back to parking. The event itself is great. Standing room and seating abound at this event.
I watched Dell match play last year, I still remember that excitement. The players showed great skills, the audience was excited and the venue was united, I came to America and had a wonderful experience.
Parking was great since Dell had a good shuttle from the Domain. The golf course was in excellent shape. Volunteers were very helpful. Food service was strategic located and good. The pro golfers provided great entertainment. Their drives were long, their irons were accurate and their putting was great. I had a great time. Looking forward to next year. GO TIGER!
