Deftones on Tour
Deftones have long had a reputation for being a commanding live act. Vocalist Chino Moreno is an active, energetic frontman who runs and jumps around the stage as he sings, when he's not shredding on his guitar. The rest of the band churn out heavy grooves indebted to post-hardcore and alternative metal as well as modern rock–leaning faves such as The Cure (a band Moreno loves).
During their career, Deftones have gone on numerous high-profile tours, including the 2010 Blackdiamondskye trek with Mastodon and Alice in Chains, and a 2018 South American tour with post-hardcore icons Quicksand. (The latter's Sergio Vega also plays bass for Deftones.) They've performed on Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, the Family Values Tour and Ozzfest, and appeared at major gatherings such as Lollapalooza, Pinkpop Festival, Roskilde Festival and the Soundwave Festival.
Deftones in Concert
Deftones' roots stem from the friendship of three friends: Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter and Abe Cunningham, all of whom grew up in Sacramento, California, as skateboarding and music fanatics. The trio started jamming together in the late '80s alongside other musicians, including the late bassist Chi Cheng. After honing their sound with live gigs, Deftones ended up signing a major record deal in 1994 with Madonna's Maverick Records and released their debut album, Adrenaline, the following year.
The group followed this up with 1997's Around the Fur, which cemented Deftones as a part of the burgeoning nu-metal movement. Then, starting with 2000's critically acclaimed White Pony, the band became known for boundary-stretching metal that drew on atmospheric textures and heavy riffs. White Pony spawned the alternative hit "Change (In the House of Flies)" and the song "Elite," the latter winning the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. Other notable songs followed, including "Minerva" (from 2003's self-titled album) and the title track of 2010's Diamond Eyes. Deftones continue to be a formidable touring and recording machine, and released Gore in 2016.

You should definitely come visit Irvine CA we love you!! ❤️❤️
I can't wait to see them on stage. In 2013 chino threw his sunglasses into the crowd and that was in Houston astrodome.
This is the show i was waiting for, Such a great event... cant wait for next year!
IT WAS SOOO FUN WILL BE GOING EVERY YEAR I LOVE CHINO AND DEFTONES🖤🖤🖤
I come here every year now and love it!!! Aside from the merch lines being so long, it was super fun. I enjoy the location overall being in San Diego. The stages are intimate and the vibes are cool. I look forward to going in 2023!
Well organized and spaced out. Can't wait for next year
One of the best festivals I’ve been to in a while. Great bands and nice artwork and set up the venue was perfect. The merchandise line sucked big time worse than Disneyland.
I got to see so many good bands I’ve been wanting to see; Deftones (for the 2nd time), Phantogram (for the 1st time), Destroy Boys (new band I really liked!) and Turnstile (first time seeing them live and it was amazing! Even if I thought I was going to die during the pit lol).
One of the rowdiest concerts I’ve ever been to!! The crowd was ready to rock after two years without this festival. Turnstile brought the energy, but their songs started to all merge together and sound like one long angry punk rock song. I’ve seen Deftones 7 times now, and although they pulled out some older classics like Back to School and RX Queen, this might have been my least favorite Deftones set. They seemed to be having sound issues too according to Chino, when he addressed the audience mid concert. Overall, wild energy, aggressive crowd, and an extra angry Chino Moreno. That being said, I loved it and had a great time
Turnstile and Deftones were brilliant. The festival was really well organised. Great selection of drink and food. Helpful and friendly security staff too which I really appreciated.
over all the concert was fun and there wasn’t to many ppl for it being sold out. Would def go again. Only complaint is that The merch area was poorly placed. The line was directly In front of the entrance/food stands. It was extremely annoying to be in line and people crossing through every second. It made the line more confusing and people were cutting.
The best show that I loved everything and very professional all their performance on stage I hope to be able to go to Las Vegas soon to see them again
First time able to make it to Dia de Los deftones and it was a great time. I will definitely be there next year!
Deftones never fail us!! It’s why we travel from all over the world to see them. The vibes of Dia De Los Deftones is always amazing, this culture cannot be beat. Great crowd, great vibes, all the bands did a super job. This event as well as all Deftones events are must sees. See you next year San Diego 🤘🏽❤️💀
I loved it!! Felt like a teenager again. Took my daughter who also had a blast. Can't wait for next year.
Amazing venue. Easy to get close to the stage and the bands sounded amazing. Parking sucked unless you got lucky, but it was great concert.
