  • Great concert

by jayvt1928 on 2/25/18Port City Music Hall - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

This is my third time seeing Deer Tick. Great concert in an intimate club environment. They played 20 miles , it was better than I expected and the first time I have heard it live. I fell fortunate to see a band of this caliber in a club.

  • I was completely disappointed!!

    by Alex1313 on 11/15/17Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 1 out of 5

First of all, the venue was very trendy with a lot of hipsters. Second of all, I had been trying to see Deer Tick live for the past two years. I was really excited I got tickets to the show. However, the band was really boring and I was extremely disappointed. I was so bummed out I almost cried. I won't be going to any Deer Tick shows, but I am still a fan of their music.

  • Meh

by runfromfire on 3/17/16Port City Music Hall - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

The rhythm section killed it but the guitarists were pretty much phoning it in and at one point McCauley scolded a guy in the audience for clapping. Who the hell does that? "Hey, you look like you're having a good time. Cut it out."

  • Bad sound and low energy

    by dleehamp on 3/14/16Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

First time seeing a concert at the 6th and I Synagogue. Will probably be my last. The sound was absolutely horrible. The bass drum overwhelmed everything and detracted from the rhythm section. The upright bass by contrast was inaudible. Same for the vocals; not loud enough or clear enough. Very muddy. We sat in the balcony, so maybe it was better on the floor. Moreover, the band was pretty low-energy (I know, its sounds like I am channeling an inner Donald Trump). But they just did their set, not appearing to be all that into the show, music or the crowd. Maybe they knew the sound was bad, or maybe they never bothered to spend anytime on a sound check and it was indicative of a larger apathy. The world may never know. Having said all that, I might go see Deer Tick again, as I like the band. But definitely not at 6th and I, and not for an acoustic show. Need to see them plugged-in at the 9:30 for a point of comparison.

    by motm on 3/13/16Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great time doing this with the band. You get to see them sound check about 5 or 6 songs and then can browse the merch table. After that you are provided with a drink, a signed poster, and photo opportunity which is followed by a brief question and answer session.

  • Amazing concert and venue!!!

    by 22123 on 3/13/16Sixth & I Historic Synagogue - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The Sixth and I Historic Synagogue was the perfect venue for an acoustic concert by Deer Tick. They are one of the most talented bands our there, and they were able to really shine in this venue.

  • Deer Tick - Something to write home about

by Blaze on 11/10/13Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

These guys put on an amazing show. I had no idea they would be as good as they were live. The set list was perfect with no down time. After the show was over it was the first time I've ever wanted to thank a band for playing and let them know they really did an outstanding job. This band is really on the up and up.

  • Great show

  • Deer Tick was amazing!

by jillianbreyer on 6/19/13The Stone Pony - Asbury ParkRating: 5 out of 5

Super intimate venue. I was against the barricade dead center. Nicole Atkins opened for Deer Tick and she was excellent. Her voice is amazing and her band is great! Definitely recommended! Deer Tick came out about 30-45 minutes after and they blew me away. This was my first time seeing them and I couldn't have asked for a better show. The band is incredible. They did a few new songs from their newest album, which is being released in September. All excellent.

Very disappointing. They forgot the music that made them popular.

  • Great Band and a Great Venue

by BeckerJMB on 1/2/13The Sinclair - CambridgeRating: 5 out of 5

The New Years Even Deer Tick show was incredible. They rocked so hard everyone had a great time. The venue was good, big enough to hold 400-500 but didnt feel crowded. Bar location was well through out and drinks were affordable. If you havent gotten to see Deer Tick live, you owe it to yourself to get to a show, their energy draws you right to the front and keeps you rocking through the last song.
