About

DEE SNIDER’S ROCK & ROLL CHRISTMAS TALE tells the story of Däisy Cütter, a heavy metal bar band looking to make it big even though the 80s are LONG over. This year, these four guys are ready to take the ultimate step and, in mythic rock tradition, sell their souls to the devil in exchange for success beyond their wildest metal dreams! But every time they try to seal the infernal pact, their head-banging anthems turn into warm-hearted carols. Soon these rockers are forced to realize their dreams of stardom are no match for the Christmas spirit. Dee Snider, infamous lead singer of Twisted Sister, has created and stars in a VERY funny, VERY rocking and (sshhh!) VERY sweet new holiday musical, guaranteed to rock your holiday.

Very good play. Would like to go again. I would not recommend all ages though. I would say 12/13 on up. It's a little much for those younger than 10. Would definitely see again.

A+ funny cast of serious musicians who can really play, and Dee was at his phenomenal best. My girlfriend got a high five/handshake from him as he worked the room during the finale... We've been TS fans since the 80s, so that MADE her holiday.

Entertaining from the beginning to the very clever ending. I would recommend this a must for all to see. My 13 year old granddaughter loved it as did us all.

Dee still rocks!! Play very entertaining.

by noneuks on 12/31/14Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Before the show began, Dee shared his back story about how he is from New York and how much fun him and his wife have been having in Chicago. He quotes Chicago as "New York's prettier sister." I really enjoyed Dee as the narrator because I never had trouble hearing or understanding him, and he has a great rock and roll voice. The play itself had a great storyline, easy to follow, and definitely held my attention. We all had a great time!

For a Christmas show for children it was an outrage. But not just for children--it was the most disgusting Christmas show for anyone at any age. In the future when ordering tickets, I will do better homework--we thought we were taking our grandchildren to a reindeer rock show which is what I thought the advertisement represented--not a satanic disaster. The reindeer head on the advertising was misleading. I felt insulted at the mockery of Christmas and to have a ceremony to honor Satan for a Christmas show was unbelievable and poor, poor taste..The plot was confusing, lines were shouted so the diction was slurred and further distorted the high amplification of the sound system. In your rating system "poor" isn't low enough. When describing the performance to friends, they said they would have walked out--we should have, Our grandchildren ages 14, 10 and 6 loved coming to Chicago for the day, but they didn't like the show at all--lame was the word from the teenager. .

A unique and fun filled Christmas Tale

by MaRuiFu on 12/30/14Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I have been to a lot of Christmas concerts and plays over the years but this one really stood out. It was a unique blend of comedy and rock music. Dee did a great job as narrator and kept the show moving along nicely. The band was tremendous and played well to the acoustics of the Broadway Playhouse.

This was a great experience! I would recommend this show to anyone, regardless of whether or not they are familiar with who Twisted Sister is. The music was great, the story was great, and the jokes were great. If this comes around next year, I'll go again.

    Very fun holiday show!

by Stonecat1214 on 12/30/14Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Perfect if you are looking for a holiday show with a different twist. The local talent is impressive. The songs are catchy and fun. However, the plot is thin and contrived at times. All in all, very cute and definitely something different from your standard holiday fare. If you have a rocker in the family, they will love it!

A must see Christmas show if you're in Chicago!!

by vegasfann on 12/30/14Broadway Playhouse - Chicago

We purchased the meet & greet tickets. After the show, Dee Snider walks out to your seats and chats with you for a bit. They take pics of you (with your camera) with Dee & he will sign your playbill, your VIP pass, or anything else you have with you. The show was fantastic! Dee has put together a great show!! It was laugh out loud funny, touching, and it ROCKS! There were all ages in the audience...from young, to old & it appealed to ALL!

    Great show!!!

by Cyndifer on 12/29/14Broadway Placehouse at Water Tower - Chicago

I have taken my kids to so many different broadway shows over the years and I absolutely loved watching my favorite time period (the 80's) depicted in a spiritual rock version of what Christmas is really about. Amazing talents-beautiful twisted story line and just alot of fun! So glad they came to Chicago. If you loved 80's rock(or you're a rocker) or just love fun musicals that get the audience involved then you have to experience this show!

It was a fun and lighted-hearted Christmas show that I enjoyed very much. Dee Snider did a great job connecting with the audience and personalizing the event. I would definitely recommend the show. The audience was encouraged to participate with flashlights handed out as you entered the show. Very fun.

by dstarThirteen on 12/29/14Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I was so glad that I was able to scrape up some money to see this play because it was so much fun! If you enjoy laughing and feeling good, you must go to see this play before it ends. Everyone in the cast was amazing. The music rocked and really did put me into the Christmas spirit mood. This is a great play to see with your family of all ages. I smiled and laughed the whole time. The story itself had a great twist and turn that I didn't see coming and it was just awesome.

    Meh

by BroadwayFanGirl on 12/28/14Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Fun parts, but not Chicago Broadway worthy by any means. Plot poorly put together.
