About

DEAD & COMPANY IN CONCERT:

Deadheads rejoice! The Grateful Dead have been reborn as Dead & Company, delivering all the groovy vibes and extended jams fans know and love. Longtime Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart are joined by superstar singer/songwriter and accomplished blues guitarist John Mayer as they blend rock, folk, funk, jazz, and psychedelia to blow fans' minds with epic aural bliss. With their spacey instrumental interplay and awe-inspiring solos, the group organically weaves their way through audience favorites like "Truckin'", "Casey Jones", and "Fire on the Mountain". The long, strange trip is back on the road -- Dead & Company are bringing their positive energy and uncanny musical genius to ticket buyers everywhere.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Grateful Dead were instrumental to the '60s psychedelic sound and hippie culture. Jerry Garcia (guitar/vocals), Bob Weir (guitar/vocals), Phil Lesh (bass/vocals), Bill Kreutzmann (drums), and Ron McKernan (keyboards/vocals) got things rolling in 1965. Excluding McKernan and Garcia, who died in 1973 and 1995 respectively, the core lineup has remained virtually unchanged sinc then. Many other musicians have helped shape the band’s sound as well, especially second drummer Mickey Hart, who joined the Dead in 1967. The band toured excessively throughout the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, famously playing sets that exceeded the three-hour mark. After Garcia's death the group soldiered on, continuing to build their legacy through fearless sonic exploration. It was not until their 50th anniversary in 2015 that the Grateful Dead decided to retire their name. Fortunately for fans, their retirement was short-lived as pop singer/songwriter and blues guitarist extraordinaire John Mayer brought Weir, Hart, and Kreutzmann back out for more legendary jam sessions. Dead & Company continues in the Dead's spontaneous and inventive musical tradition -- just the way Deadheads like it.

  • was a great show

by zeffner on 8/17/25Golden Gate Park - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

was a great show , loved the added areas such as grass land and the little nugs area , though there was some dely ,echo in the nugs area that was annoying .. seemed to me that the delay from stage to towwer speakers on the field compared to stage to nugs viewing area were not considered so an echo / delay was heard but still was a great show

  • EPIC!!!

  • Best 3 days I’ve had in 20 years

by Paco on 8/10/25Golden Gate Park - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

I have fallen in love with San Francisco. You go through about three seasons in one day, it’s fantastic. Polo Field is massive. They have plenty of food, all types of food, and it is very very good. There’s only two ways in and two ways out in the city does the best they can to get people out. Not to mention free bus rides with your concert ticket. Second night was my favorite night.

  • Great event worth the price

by Cain Marko on 8/9/25Golden Gate Park - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Once in a lifetime experience! Amazing food at the venue from local artists, shakedown street with plenty of venders. Merch lines were efficient. Enough space for folks to dance. Lots of screens and sound was awesome. Best dead show I’ve seen.

  • GD 60

by Mike on 8/8/25Golden Gate Park - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing experience music beyond belief. Plenty of food and alcohol vendors the only 2 down signs that I found to this event, they did not sell any type of soda, and they did not have bottled water plus the logistics of bussing people in and still having to walk a mile to 2 miles to get to the gates to the venue. It was a little daunting for some of the older folks, but all in all, I had a blast

  • Such a special event ❤️ So grateful to be a part of it all!!

by Ruby on 8/8/25Golden Gate Park - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

I don't think there could have been a better way to celebrate the hubby's 50th birthday than with 60,000 other friends celebrating the Grateful Dead's 60th!! 😃 It was magical!! San Francisco really did it right at the Polo Fields! It never felt overcrowded or claustrophobic. The food was fantastic! (Especially the Baria tacos 🌮 😋) There was room to sing and dance and shake our bones!! Thank you for the memories 🧡

  • Awesome experience

by Spiffftifff on 8/8/25Golden Gate Park - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

Show itself was great, venue and event organizing was a little hard to tolerate at times. EXCESSIVE amount of walking both to, from, and during the show! Would’ve been nice to have a little more selection for food&drink and vip was not very vip at all. General admission had better view and less walking. Did like the sitting area they designated for vip. Really enjoyed the festival/concert but felt like it was very pricey for the lack of accommodation and total experience.

  • Love is what we came here for

Believe it if you need it, if you don’t just pass it on and love will see you through

A stand-out moment in my musical experiences. I feel grateful to have made these three days in a setting that shined. My heart feels lighter and my spirit lifted — hope it lasts. Thanks to all the talent that made it possible…sound, lights, band members. That was a beautiful tribute to 60 years!
