by adyrptis on 3/22/10Birchmere - Alexandria

I thought his music style was outstanding. His energy and excitement that he puts into his music is infectious and makes you feel like you are part of it. You feel like an old friend.

The Dave and Patty Show was excellent!

by gostar on 3/22/10Birchmere - Alexandria

Dave was outstanding - intimate, intelligent, spiritually renewing. Patty was terrific - great guitar playing, incredible rendition of Suzanne. The only problem was that the Birchmere was FREEZING! Bring a sweater or two :)

    Larkin/Wilcox: Amazing Show!

by Alteregrrl on 3/22/10Birchmere - Alexandria

Any show featuring either of the two alone is well worth seeing, as each are superlative singer/songwriters with tremendous musical, lyrical and performance skills. But to see them together was an amazing treat! Each played a set showcasing material from their new cds (great cds!!), and then they came on stage together for a "musical conversation", trading off on song performances for the final set. Larkin's voice and guitar playing only get better with time. And Dave Wilcox - Buddha with a black guitar! They performed together for only three shows - a "tourlette", as Patty put it. Grab any upcoming chances to see either or both of them on any billing. P.S. The Birchmere is still one of the all-time great music venues!

    David Wilcox is amazing live.

by DavidWilcoxFan on 3/22/10Birchmere - Alexandria

David Wilcox is an amazing songwriter- but he's an even better performer. His albums have great songs that I love to listen to. In his live shows, he has these fantastic stories that he shares that set up the song and make each song an even better experience. What a great night.

    More of Wilcox

    by BigFan46 on 3/22/10Birchmere - Alexandria

I would have given this performance five stars if there had been more of David Wilcox and less of Patty Larkin. He is a wonderful singer, song writer and performer. He continues to touch your heart with songs that are like poetry and cover so many important issues and emotions

Phil Keaggy is the best guitar player ever!!!

by sjmckosky on 11/22/09The National - Richmond

We LOVED Keaggy. The only problem was he did not get to play long enough. We did not like David Wilcox though. We had never heard of him before and now after hearing him wonder why he and Keaggy were together.

Phil and David are a Dynamic Duo

by Merletx on 11/21/09The National - Richmond

This show was absolutely amazing. Phil Keaggy can make a guitar sing in ways not thought possible. David Wilcox can construe lyrics that would make a puppy pull a freight train. Don't miss this show if it comes anywhere near you. I drove 3.5 hours to see them and wouldn't change a mile. In addition, The National is such a beautiful venue.

    Keaggy & Wilcox: Amazing & Soul-engaging!

by VAPapa on 11/21/09The National - Richmond

I've been a fan of Keaggy, but this was my first live show. Wow...wow...wow! Phil's gift is absolutely amazing! When he played, no one dared make a sound so as to not corrupt the purity of his vocals and strings. I didn't have a clue about David Wilcox before last night. David's music was beautiful and his vocal sounds were mesmerizing, but it was the mix of lyrics, tone, emphasis, & tune that simply reached right past your emotional defenses and touched your soul. It seemed as if only a few minutes had past and yet it was 2 hours.

    A Beautiful Night!

by Batmelek on 11/20/09Aladdin Theater - Portland

David Wilcox uses the imagery of sailing upon a small boat to describe how one experiences music. Both David and his opening act are masters of their instruments, and took the audience on a beautiful voyage. On truly amazing night!

    David Wilcox Live!

by Anonymous on 11/20/09Aladdin Theater - Portland

I take every opportunity to see Dave live whether he's playing at a local venue or streaming online. His shows are a "must see". This show at the Aladdin Theater was no exception. Dave is a phenomenal performer and his music, combined with his artful storytelling, like none other. While I enjoy his CD's, if you're lucky enough to have him play in your city, see him LIVE!!!!

    Wilcox Rocks!

by Fmpnd on 11/11/09The Ark - Ann Arbor

Some people are BORN to entertain. But what type entertainment appeals to you is obviously personal. And "personal" is what David Wilcox is. His unique way of not only crafting songs but setting them up with the related background draws you in like a magnet. He has a sense of humor and expressive face that heightens the story-telling experience. You leave getting the feeling his songs are living things with personalities that vary from audience to audience. You certainly never get the feeling David is bored or his performing has become routine or "old hat." Wilcox's soothing voice, his wit, easy-going nature and sheer talent on the guitar make for an evening tantamount to sitting around a fireplace with family on a cold Holiday winter evening - the ultimate intimate get together with people you want to be around. David Wilcox was born to entertain.

    David Wilcox is always superb

by Anonymous on 11/11/09The Ark - Ann Arbor

As always the wonderfully talented & unassuming David Wilcox was his usual brilliant storytelling best. His guitar playing is among the best and his talent for writing songs is still inspiring after 20 years. This is a man that takes pure pleasure in performing for his listeners. He performs by himself with just his acoustic guitar, no back ups, no fancy equipment, just his pure, clean voice, gift for telling a story and that amazing guitar playing. It is amazing to me that he is not more famous, but I suspect that is probably how he chooses it to be. Note: You have the picture of the Canadian David Wilcox on this site, not David Wilcox who performed at the Ark in Ann Arbor.

    We absolutely love David Wilcox

by macdoodle on 11/11/09The Ark - Ann Arbor

David Wilcox's show was personable and so much fun! The easy way that he prompts the audience to participate is extraordinary. David continues to entertain and include his audience as a 'friend' rather than an on-stage persona. You have our hearts. We hope to make it to the May folk vacation event!

    lost in a2 on Tuesday

by whospayingattention on 11/11/09The Ark - Ann Arbor

I think everyone forgot about David Wilcox...the picture above is the wrong guy (hello?), nobody showed up. I know that KebMo is today and the TropArkana is this weekend, but David has been incredible and supported by this area and venue for a long time. Very surprised at the poor showing. And tickets weren't cheap! It must have been hard for David to walk out and see the Ark less than half full. I'm sure he could have thought of an interesting story to relate to that but he chose not to notice. But I did. His performance was less than inspired (we know you've got more to give than that, David.) I guess it just goes to show you how fragile it all is. Lets try again someday soon (remember that one, Dave?).
