    Amateur Hour

by Jazz traveler on 4/8/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

It was an insult to the talent and the audience that gathered to perform that night and enjoy the concert. The performance of the sound crew and the equipment used was horrible. The lights were in the wrong position and did nothing for the artist. The single point entry to the seating area was inconvenient and caused unnecessary delays. I looked forward to attending this concert for some time and have never been so disappointed, not because of the artist but delays in stage management and the sound.

Sound Check 1, Sound Check 2,3,4...

    by J. D. on 4/6/22

There was sound check after sound check and still could not get it right. The start time was suppose to be 7PM. The attendees were left waiting without an explanation for more than an hour. Our time was not respected at all. The performers put on the best show possible considering TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. we left just as David Sanborn was attempting to start with more sound checks. I have been to free concerts with better sound quality. Two stars for Regina Belle and Jonathan Butler. Did not get to hear David Sanborn. ☹️

    The messy jazzy

by Get Down on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

This event was the worst jazz festival ever! Unorganized, late, 3 songs with each artist, long delays between sets and no entertainment while waiting. Poor promotion and poor sound system. Terrible.

    Technical disaster

by MzTrouble2u on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

I had this intimate birthday surprise planned for my love. The line-up was awesome but the technical difficulties were horrible. There were so many delays after every set. The artist’s were complaining. I was very disappointed for all the money I spent on those tickets.

    Terrble Concert

by e. A. on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

Concert started an hour late. Each group play four selections. Mic, speaker and engineering problems throughout the night. Essex jazz group was a waste of time. Regina Bell eas rushed off the stage after singing only two of her major hits. Dave Sanborn came on stage after 11pm. He only performed 3 selections. Will nevergo back to miramar amphitheater.

    Worst concert ever

by e. A. on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

Concert started an hour, total waste of money and time. The featured group Dave Sanborn played three songs. Didn't get on the stage until after 11pm. He sounded liked he was warming up on the first selection. Jonathan Butler had mirco phone and speaker issues throghout his performance. He didn't play any 9f his major songs. Regina Bell was the best act of the night. She was rushed off the stage after singing three selections. Essex and band could have stayed home. The sound and clarity was awful. You cou barely hear Essex on lead guitar. The sound engineering needs to be fired. I will never go back to the miramar amphitheater. Wasted night.

    Jazz Lover

by Thea B on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

The intermission between sets was extremely long. I would have liked the artist to have performed a few more songs, but overall I enjoyed the show.

It was unfortunate he was delayed and only played 3 songs.

by Sheila on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

The concert was an hour delayed for "technical issue". They should have worked out those issue way before the concert in my opinion. It took too long to set up after each artist ended. And when it came time for the Head Liner...David Sanborn to play, he was only able to play 3 songs because of the silly noise ordinance. I was deeply saddened by this after waiting 4 hours to see him!!!

    Very disappointed

by Nessie on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

The show started late. The sound system was terrible. Very disappointed with the whole event. I was seating under the tent and I still got wet from the rain.

    Very disappointed

by J. N. on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

The venue was awful. Left the show after the first group. Show should have stated at 7PM and due to technical problems didn’t start till 8:10PM. Then they still had sound system issues. Left the concert before any other Artist. Shame I am big Regina Belle and David Sanborn fan. Total waste of money.

    Disappointing

by Never Again on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

This was a disappointing production - I don't know who was responsible but it was horrible. The show was almost an hour late, the sound to the right of the stage was muffled, Regina Belle sang with tracks. At a live show that is headlined and touring the country I expected better - it was like amateur hour. I left before David Sanborn because he had not yet taken the stage at 10PM.

    Disappointed

by Keith F. on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

I was disappointed that the concert started a hour late due to the sound system, and it continued to mess up throughout the concert. Eric Essix and band, Regina Bell, Jonathan Butler and band and David Sanborn and band did a fantastic job under the circumstances with the bad sound system. I as a audience member felt cheated as I believe probably everyone did. At one point with the equipment kept messing up I got up to leave then they temporarily got things right and Regina Bell started to sing and I went back to my seat. She was the second to go on stage. The messed up sound system is the only reason I didn’t give a 5 star.

    Disappointed

by Yoli on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

The show was late! The sound was horrible. Sanborn was only allowed to play for about 10 minutes, before being told that the city has a curfew and the show needed to end. Mr. Sanborn was awesome, no fault of his. The guest should be refunded.

    Worst Sound Techs (not prepared)

by G. V. on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

Started and hour late due to sound techs who set up late and never got the sound in order which meant musicians had both amp and mike issues so it sounded like they were rehearsing in a garage for themselves. No reflection on the acts. Promoter never spoke to or apologized. A mess! We walked out as did many.

    DISAPPOINTED

by Concerned Customer (WT) on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

I have never been more disappointed with a concert. The entire concern was terrible. We could not understand the performers. The voices were garbled and unclear. Obviously, it seems other people agreed, because halfway between Jonathan Butler's portion, people just got up and left. As far as Regina Bell's portion, I cannot believe that she seemed to be lip syncing. No live band, and she was just singing over a track. Whenever her lips were not moving, you could still hear her voice with a soundtrack. In addition, while she was performing, people were behind her covering up the equipment. Very distracting. Finally, who was the first band? The fact that they started extremely late was concerning, but then they never identified themselves until the end of their gig. We thought they were just prepping for the main groups. To realize that this unknown group were the ones that replaced Oleta Adams greatly failed out expectations. Need I say more.

    Extremely Disappointed

by MED on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

This event was disorganized from the first moment. The opening act was an hour late in starting. The sound men didn't appear to know what they were doing because they spent half an hour in between acts resetting everything. And the acoustics were horrible. Due to all the delays David Sanborn didn't appear until eleven at night and then was only allowed to play three songs because of the Miramar noise ordinances. And this event was falsely promoted. I thought it was going to be about David Sanborn. There were three acts before him and all had more play time than he did. On the way out the cops told us the promoter arrived late and tried not to pay people. Don't work with him again if that was the cause of of such a crummy event.

    Production woes for me

by MJF on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

Left at 10 PM after Essex and during Belle. So after 3 hours I had seen one and a half of the four performers slated for the evening.. The sound system was substandard and muddled. It was technically low budget and I have to give credit to a hopeful audience .. after 3 hours I had lost hope… Generally I love David Sanborne if I had seen him.

    Quite disappointed

by Black Widow on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

The show started extremely late. Something about money/payment delays. The sound engineer was not up for the challenge that night. Every band had sound issues… Once Sanborn and his band finally took the stage, the park curfew took place 2 songs into the performance. I’m sure none of this was by design and nothing could’ve been done but it doesn’t change the fact that I was disappointed

    Bad

by Yajaira on 4/5/22Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater - Miramar

The festival did not start until 8:10 and the sound was horrible. When it was time for David Sanborn to play, it was 11:00 pm and he only played three songs. Extremely disappointed with the venue. At least David Sanborn sound was better. It was a waste night. Awful!!!!!
