DAVID PHELPS IN CONCERT:
Christian music vocalist David Phelps has been inspiring fans with his faith-based songs and uplifting live performances for more than two decades. Both as a member of the Gaither Vocal Band and as a standout solo artist, Phelps is known and adored for his rich tenor voice and dramatic flair with which he performs his devotional songs. Phelps is a skilled arranger with a trademark modern sound, and his live performances often feature an extensive backing band that includes trumpet, timpani, and a choir. In addition to his Southern gospel music he's released four Christmas albums, and his performances during the holiday season bring festive cheer to both religious and secular ticket buyers year after year.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Texas-born David Phelps attended college at Baylor University, where he directed the Baylor Religious Hour Choir and graduated with a degree in music and vocal performance. He made his recording debut in 1994 with the album Journey to Grace, and a few years later he joined the award-winning Gaither Vocal Band. Phelps maintained a prolific release schedule throughout the ‘00s and ‘10s both with the band and on his own, including commercially successful solo albums like The Voice (2008) and Freedom (2015). Over the course of his career he's received Grammy and Dove Awards, toured the country many times over, and racked up several platinum-selling albums. In 2013 his TV special Classic aired on PBS, uplifting fans across the country with his uniquely modern take on traditional faith-based music.
My husband and I seen David Phelps in Spartanburg Jan.2nd and it was an AWESOME show! Of course we didn't expect any less. David has a terrific voice and it was really a blessing to see him preform. Couldn't think of a better way to bring in the new year!
David Phelps is one of the greatest performers of all. His voice captivated the audience. I highly recommend any of his concerts. The reason for the rating is that we wished David had sung some of the older songs he sang with the Gaithers and other gospel groups.
Loved it. David can do it all with his voice. The musicians were awesome.
I have never seen him in concert though I've listened to his and the Gaither Vocal Band's music for years. He was outstanding...very personable and had a great sense of humor as well! His band, backup singers, and guest singer were excellent as well!
Amazing performance, he was able to engage the audience in real conversation. He took the time to talk about his family, life and experiences, which gave the performance a big plus in my opinion. Most enjoyable evening.
This is the best concert I have seen in awhile. The music was excellent. The presentation was excellent. I was inspired and am now in the Christmas mood for the season. Thank you David for sharing your God given talent in such a a beautiful way. I look forward to seeing you again next Christmas!
David Phelps was my Mother's favorite singer and when I saw that he was performing close to where I live, something inside me nudged me to move forward and buy tickets. My husband and I made the 2-hour drive to Mobile not really knowing what to expect. From the moment, David walked out on stage, we were mesmerized with his voice and the way he engaged his audience. My Mother told me that he had a terrific voice, but she also told me that it was his personality that really made him special. She was so right. We loved seeing David Phelps perform and would highly recommend his show. You will be absolutely blown away. This man loves Jesus and is living his life to glorify Him in every way possible.
This was a part my wife's Christmas Present. We totally enjoyed the evening. We will be there when David Phelps returns next year. We will be bringing a larger group with us !!!!
David Phelps has an amazing voice and can sing anything. The Concert in itself and his band was as talented as any that I have seen. Seeing him live just solidified what I already know, and that is the best voice in Gospel. Highlights of the evening was him singing Nessun Dorma, Ava Maria to name a few. No one sings O Holy Night like he does and he ended the concert with that and came back and sand upon request End of the Beginning. There wee standing ovations throughout the concert. He is a must to see live regardless if it is Christmas time or not,
David Phelps was great. His voice is amazing on any song he does. The Christmas theme and song selection was great. Highly recommend this artist to everyone.
It was amazing! David Phelps along with the multi talented band and back up singers did an outstanding concert with lots of variety.

Not our first time seeing David live, but it was for one of our guest. The same look came across our guest face as it has for most people that experience the unique God given talent that David Phelps and company continue to be blessed with and share that blessing with others. If you get the chance to see his performance please do so.
This was an absolute joy to attend. He has an amazing voice and talent that is God-given and he gives Him the credit which is so beautiful to see and hear these days. I hope he comes back next year so I can invite all my family and friends!

This was the first solo concert of David Phelps, although I have been a fan for years. It was absolutly wonderful. I have always loved that tenor voice, and to hear him in person really makes me appreciate it more than ever. I truly believe God has blessed him with a gift to share with people and he honestly sings from his heart. I wish everyone could experience listening to him just once in their life, I think they would want to hear more of the amazing voice. I hope to be able to experience this joy again.
david has an amazing voice this was my 3rd year going to his chrismas concert and i hope to go to many more
The concert was fantastic. The concert hall wasn't the best but I don't think there would have been a terrible seat in the house.
