  • David Garrett

by rideon on 2/25/10Aladdin Theater - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

This young man was truly astonishing as a performer! He made the violin burn with his musical numbers. David played music from every direction to suit all ages. The performance was soft & touching, sentimental, classic, rip roaring to stomp along, clap your hands & shed a tear with the next song. The crowd as a whole rose up with several standing ovations for more, more!! David's four piece band complimented him & didn't miss a beat with David's flying fingers. Truly an artist, hope to see more of him. Love you David!

This was the best concert I have ever seen. It was a very energetic concert that drew attention to many different age groups. David is an extremely talented man, and it was totally worth watching. I would recommend a concert by him to anyone.

  • David Garrett was like no other!

by KLMel on 2/22/10Berklee Performance Center - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

David Garrett was an amazing show. He is, by far, one of THE most talented musicians in the world. The violin sounded so incredible. David captured the audience with his music and his band...they were fabulous as well. His sound is so different from the norm, it's unlike anything I've ever heard. I would absolutely attend another one of his performances and would strongly recommend his performances for anyone to see.

  • Classical tunes show their modern side

    by IraBarr25 on 2/22/10Berklee Performance Center - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

David Garrett's concert in Boston was great! What a wonderful idea - a combination of the popular classical tunes and a hint of modern rock music! It sounds both - very modern and classy. The guy is very very talented (and good-looking!)

  • Rock star with Stardivarius violin

Phenomenal performance by a brilliant violinist. The impossible mission of mixing classical music and modern rock music was accomplished successfully. Bravo, David!

I went to this performance with my 14 yr old son and it was absolutley fabulous! We loved it so much I purchased tickets as a Christmas present for my in-laws. They were also blown away. They said they were opened up to a whole new kind of music. The only negative about the whole experiance for them was the comfort of the seats. They said that the section of the Berklee Performace Ctr they were seated in had resently been remodeled and there was absolutely no foot room. They had to relocate mid-performance. I would most definately recomend this perfomance for both old and younge! David Garrett is amazing and very entertaining.

  • David Garrett is amazing!

    by NancyM44 on 2/22/10Berklee Performance Center - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I attended the David Garrett concert at the Berklee Performance Center on Feb. 20. It was the second time I saw him perform, the first being Oct. 30, 2009, also at Berklee. I was accompanied by my two sisters this time; one had heard his music but not seen him perform, the other was not familiar with him at all. All three of us had a blast. Garrett's wide repertoire (Bach, Vivaldi, AC/DC, Micheal Jackson) is fantastic. His charisma, energy and immense talent makes his appeal universal. He backup band (drums, classical and electric guitar, keyboard, bass) is made up of superlative musicians, who get their own chance to shine throughout the show as well. Don't miss the opportunity to see David Garett in concert. Or, if that opportunity doesn't present itself, at least check for his concerts on PBS, which often appear around pledge time. You won't regret it!

  • The Sublime David Garrett

by JeanneD on 2/22/10Berklee Performance Center - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

David Garrett and his band were simply sublime! He energizes the audience and wows them. His cool, young hip ways intrigue us when he plays his versions of classical, rock, country, etc. I wanted to hear more.

  • Same repetoire as October's

    by Laurie1949 on 2/22/10Berklee Performance Center - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Garrett is charming and his skill is phenomenal. However, I was sorely disappointed that the show (including anecdotes) was identical to the last time I saw him at the same venue in October. I did have fabulous seats this time (6th row center) and I actually appreciated his lead guitarist much more this time since I could see his fingering in detail. Garrett's back up musicians are outstanding. Worth seeing a second time, but I won't pay to see him again until I'm positive he has a new show to see.

  • Love David Garrett!

What a show! Couldn't believe when it was older. Selections spanned all age groups.

  • David Garrett is way beyond talented. He's magical

by Mermee on 2/22/10Berklee Performance Center - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Words can not describe David Garrett. He is better than any word I can think of. I have never been a fan of the violin, but David Garret has changed all that, and brings it too an altogether higher level. My 23 yr old son attended the concert with me, and enjoyed it as much as I did. The combination of classical and rock pieces were a perfect mix. The expertise with which David Garrett performed was magical As well, as an incredible musical performance, David's personality shown through as he introduced his musical pieces. He connects with the audience on a very personal level with his music and his words. I loved every second of the concert. And, David's back up band was amazing. I can't wait to attend another David Garrett concert. I just can't wait !!!

  • David Garrett is the best

by Anonymous on 2/22/10Berklee Performance Center - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was incredible. Loved the fact, David Garrett entertained his audience not just with his fabulous music, he also shared personal stories with us in connection with each song. LOVED IT. He is a huge star, very down to earth, yet very professional.

  • As great as I expected.

by Batarang on 2/22/10Berklee Performance Center - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

David Garrett had only four other musicians with him for this concert, but managed to put on a great concert nonetheless. It lasted over two hours, and provided a lot of great music. I had heard many of the songs before from his PBS televised Concert in Berlin and his self-titled album, but there were also some other songs I had not heard from him before-which were mostly fantastic. My friend whom I took along was wowed, as well. David Garrett was also quite charming and amusing with his occasional anecdotes between songs. The sound in this Berklee Performance Center was great. I would have paid much more money for these tickets if I had to. And I will definitely attend again if he comes back to my area.

What a personal concert! Yes, Berklee Perfomance Center was perfect. Not too big, just right, felt as though that David was playing to my wife and I. Came out to the right of us play as he was making his way to the stage. His commentary between songs gave us a personal touch, history of the song and offered us an opportunity to "meet" David. For such a young violinist he is mature in years in his playing and composing. This young man will thrill the young and those a less young for many years to come. Anyone disappointed in his performance does not appreciate music in its many ranges and an artist who works his craft and magic.
