  • David Garrett is the bomb

by Sgvpurdygirl on 1/20/12Club Nokia - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time ever seeing David in concert, my boyfriend told E about him so I bought the tickets for him for Christmas and it was the best purchase I have ever made. I was completely blown away by how amazing this man is on the violin and I enjoyed the show so much, and would advise everyone to buy tickets to go see him when he is in your area.

  • David Garrett was amazing!!!

We loved David Garrett! His performance had something for every one and even genres that you don't normally like are made interesting with his fun and quirky arrangements. His band is not just your regular band they are all amazingly talented musicians that add flair and fire to his performance. The only downside to the show was the cellphone videographers. Club Nokia did nothing to stop them and it was most distracting.

  • Wonderful as ever

David took the time to talk to me an hour before the show.....at the state door. He was so kind. The show was wonderful and fresh. He is just a superb artist. But David get rid of the thing that you played that recorded a few notes and then added to what you were playing. YOU DO NOT NEED TRICKS.....keep it simple.

David Garrett's talent, combined with his warmth and genuine conversation between each selection, endeared him to ,I think, everyone in the audience. The standing ovation was not a mere polite gesture, but rather an expression of the energy in the room.

David Garrett is an amazing musician. His music absolutely touches the deepest part of your soul. His band is fun and made up of fantastic talent. The Balboa Theatre is a really nice venue. Its not too big so its more intimate. FABULOUS SHOW!!!

Amazing show... the only thing missing is a full orchestra.

The concert had an amazing start & a perfect ending. Throughout the whole show I found myself moving to the rhythm of his music. Seeing David garret perform live was an inspiration to me. As a musician and as a violinist. I can not wait until I get another chance to see him perform!

David Garrett was excellent. I had seen him before and enjoyed him so much I had to see him again. I always enjoy his stories of the mishaps of his life as well as his amazing music.

I hope that David Garrett becomes a yearly fixture in San Diego. Once you go to a concert you will go back again and again!

Disappointing show. Garrett is known for his stage performance with an orchestra, lighting effects, and being active. There was none of this- only the five in his band and himself. The band lacked passion in their performance, especially the 1st set. They are excellent musicians, but for the most part only looked like they were there to fill the bill and get ready for their larger show on Wednesday at Nokia in Los Angeles. He does not have nearly the sound or feel without the orchestra. We felt we were a little short-changed on this one.

  • Simply Amazing

This is the second time I've seen David Garrett perform in San Diego. His ability to mix classical and rock is truly a gift, and I'm grateful to experience his work live. I also like his down to earth stage presence. It's apparent that he is humble with his talent and appreciative of the musicians who work with him.

This was my second time seeing David Garrett at the Balboa. David Garrett and his band were incredible! The acoustics were great and the playlist was memorable- a mix of old and new songs. There was a very positive energy and the crowd all seemed to really enjoy themselves! The show began very close to the ticketed start time, and the view from pretty much any seat was well worth it! I will definitely come back to see David Garrett perform here again- small enough to feel intimate, but a big enough crowd to allow for a good number of fans to get tickets :)

  • David Garrett was amazing!

This is the second time I have seen David Garret on tour and his performance was even better this time. He is talented, passionate, entertaining, and so handsome. What else can you ask for?

  • Simply the best!

by montesol on 1/17/12Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

David Garrett is a gifted musician and his mastery of the violin is so unique, as if it's an extension to his body. He not only shows his talent, but he has an uncanny way of making a person feel the depth of his music, almost like looking into the soul of each ballad. At the concert you are drawn into his youthful and delightful sense of life and his passion of bringing all aspects of the violin to the forefront in not only a classical sense, but in every other genre of music. If you haven't seen David Garrett, do a YouTube search and you will understand the 32 year old prodigy child he has become. Next time he comes to this area, he will command a much bigger arena. Simply put... incredible!

  • vitality , charm and techical excellence

by magicflute on 1/17/12Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

David Garrett's concert gave us the chance to hear a superb violinist , both technically and expressively, perform a variety of pieces which held us all spellbound. It is not only a matter of skill( no lack of it here), which makes his performance memorable , but also the human element reflected in his expressive playing as well as the many charming antedotes he related from this past which opened up a sort of "dialoque " between performer and listener. This is what art is all about . As a classical flutist I appreciate the life- long dedication needed in perfecting one's art.. Certainly David Garrett displayed this with finesse, charm and vitality and we in the San Diego audience were able to be there to recieve the benefits of his efforts.
