  • This show was beyond excellent !!!

David Garrett is a brilliant composer with an extrodorinary ability as a musician. He has placed an exceptinal amount of talent behind himself resulting in music that is better than the original artist's version. David and his band have sucessfully shown the world that there truly are no lines between the different styles of music which we all enjoy. Their brilliance has yeilded a new musical style which I beleived can be loved by every generation and most every fan. I noticed that the audience was made up largerly of Germans or German descendants obviously they are aware of his awsome talent and come out to ejoy the show that is great. Now I encourage the rest of our nation to take a close listen I beleive you will find he is one of the greatest performers of our time!

I attended concert on Saturday afternoon in Chicago at the Chicago Theater. What an outstanding experience! Such a talented artist who attracted fans of all ages! You just didn't want the concert to end. He has a gift to entertain and to pull in all different types of music in such an organized, exciting way! I took my ten year old grandson with and he thoroughy enjoyed it also. I certainly will be attending his next Chicago concert!

Excellent concert! The music was incredible. We also liked the friendly dialogue with the audience.

  • Don't miss next time he comes to town!

This is the second time seeing him at this venue. Love the different music genre's he tackles. The sound quality was better, although that may have to do with were we sitting. Few stories between songs, less chance to heckle. Hey, you heckle the ones you love. The Coldplay song he did was one of the highlights, very fun to listen to. It's hard to pick from the traditional classical pieces for a favorite.

  • David Garrett Rules!!

by beppo on 1/30/12The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The only complaint I have for this show is that I wish he'd play longer! He is so amazing, one could just listen to him play ALL day! David puts on a spectacular show for sure, and I will definitely see him again. But if he could come to Kansas City, that would be better since that is where we live. David...we have an awesome new performing arts center...com'on!! I was disappointed that he didn't play a Metallica song though, but I will live, considering what he did play was incredible. He makes it look effortless. A truly gifted guy with a great personality and hey...he's cute too! Shelly

Let's just say that I've never been to a David Garrette concert before. I've seen him on PBS so I purchased his DVD and a couple of his CDs. I will DEFINITELY be there the next time he and his band come to town. Yes, I also plan to purchase as many of his other CDs as I can obtain. The show was phenominal. Been to many concerts and shows, but have never walked away feeling as good and well entertained as from David's show.

  • David Garrett is UNBELIEVABLE!!

by Skandy on 1/30/12The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Taking a 6 hour train ride to see David perform was well worth the trip! He is truly a genious with the violin. He makes it look so easy to play when some of the pieces seem quite challenging! I was hooked when I saw the PBS special last year and was blown away by his talent! I would have liked to have heard him play some addtional tracks off his Rock Symphonies CD like Kashmir, Vivaldi vs, Vertigo and Toccata. He seems like a genuinally nice guy (and wish I was the girl they selelcted to sit across from him when he played one of his pieces from the Rock Symponies CD! :-)) AWESOME! and can't wait to see him perform again live!! David truly has a real gift when playing the violin.

I loved the music. David rocked out. The way he works the piano is amazing! My only suggestion is to dressed up the stage a bit.

  • David Garrett is a maestro!

by SeaShoreLight on 1/30/12The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

His music was extraordinary and it was what brought me there! I was fortunate to have a front row seat, and pleased that it was off to the side: a rather coy way of peering into the artist himself. Aloof personality wise, generously sharing his craft! Like a peacock. His band accompanied him with bawdy grace and eclectic fusion. The audience was privy to their playful foray until they ran off to their magic bus; in anticipation of next time...

  • David Garrett was outstanding!

Another excellent performance. The Chicago theatre is great and David's combination of classic and pop music was great. He is an amazing violinist.

  • Great Show!!!

I love the variety of music he performs at every show!!!

  • by jovaani on 1/30/12The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Refreshing and worth the money. The music was great - a good mix of old and new, classical and rock, slow and fast compositions. David Garrett's stories in between songs were entertaining and added a flair to the show.

I have been to over a hundred concerts in my lifetime and this was absolutely in the top 3. It was totally different than anything I've ever been to, interactive, personable, and so much fun. I was awe-struck several times throughout the show. I will be first in line to get ticekts next time he comes to town.
