I have seen David Garrett concerts on PBS, but to see his performance in person was mind-blowing. My 13 year old plays the violin and loved the performance as well. David played "He Lift Me Up" so beautifully, that it bought tears to my daughter eyes. David's band was incredible was well!

  • A Magical Muscian

    by TBKRWKlove4ever on 2/6/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

David Garrett is certainly NOT you grandfather's violinist. He is simply spectacular !!! We went to see him in concert last year for the first time and loved his performance. This show was just as good if not better. Hard to compare because he played a very different play list. I love all music but I lean towards Classic Rock and Hard Rock, if someone would have told me 3 years ago that I would be crazy about a violinist concert I would have said NO WAY. But now I tell everyone about this guy. Love him and his music. Cool Stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No soul, very commercial.

David Garrett has an amazing technique and abilities, but there is no passion or soul in his performances. Very sad.

  • David Garrett was simply amazing!

I loved seeing him in concert. I've never been to Lisner so I was pleasantly surprised that the place is so small. David Garrett put in a great show, he seems like a fun guy. I enjoyed his personal anadotes.. My mom, who is German, introduced me to him. She was way jealous that I got to see him. I would definetly see him again! The only negative thing was the seat, it was really cramped!

  • David Garrett was intense and awesome!

Gracious and talented beyond his years, David Garrett puts on a show that is not soon recuperated from. While the show was over by 10:30, I could not fall asleep until 3:00 I was so overwhelmed by the music. In addition to his tremendous talent, his band is wonderful by themselves. The combination of classical with rock works so well together and their talent makes it even more so. I would highly recommend seeing them and will look to do myself in the future.

David and his band put on an incredible performance. This was my first live show seeing David and I was mesmerized. His music takes you to another level.

  • David Garrett GIves 100% and It's - WOW

    by redstar1 on 2/5/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 3rd David Garrett's concert in DC and the first time at the Lisner Auditorium. THe first event, at the Birchmere, was an introduction to an amazing artist. My colleague from Florida and I were in awe of his talent. The 2nd event also at the Birchmere was good but did not have the same impact. This one surpassed both of them. I'm not sure if it was the acoustics or the potential that David practices non-stop that made the difference. Either way, the entire evening was grand.

  • David Garrett was amazing!

The performance was hands down one of the best things Ive listened to in person. The venue is not made for semi remotely tall people.

  • the show was great

    by john4413 on 2/5/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I have now joined the ranks of fans of David Garrett. The performance was entertaining and fantastic. We look forward to attending another concert by this great musician. The seats at Lisner are too close to the row in front such that knees hit the seats in front. of you.

  • Rock virtuoso!

by ViaggiPazzi on 2/5/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

After hearing David on Dancing With the Stars and then PBS, I had to get tickets to wherever I could see him live -- soon. I was not disappointed. The music was innovative, precise, beautiful, mind-boggling. Pleasant surprise was the perfectly-pitched presentation between pieces, just the right level of personal revelation for the size of the auditorium. David Garrett (and his flexibly-talented band, esp. Marcus Wolf) is now permanently on my list of artists to see every time a performance is within 50 miles.

  • David was fantastic...but venue was way too hot!

    by Richmond2012 on 2/5/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

It was such an awesome concert.....thank God I wore a tank top underneath my sweater because the auditorium was so extremely hot. It just got hotter and hotter with every minute. But the music. Amazing!

  • David Garrett is Unbelievable

by Katjareeves on 2/5/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing show. Fun, uplifting. Masterful. David Garrett has an unbelievable mastery of the violin and composition. And what's more, is you can tell he is really having a lot of fun doing it -- it's not something that is serious or somber. He's just having a great time doing something that is just unbelievably awesome.

  • David Garrett at the Lisner Auditorium

by Anonymous on 2/5/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was absolutely amazing. David is a wonderful performer and a truly amazing musician. His band is great and they all work very well together and each has totally mastered his domain. The show went from 8:00 P.M. until 10:30 P.M. with a 15 minute break and everyone just loved him. You could tell by the 3 or 4 standing ovations. My husband and I would go again in a heartbeat.

  • Outstandingly Brilliant

    by SmoothJazz1 on 2/5/12Lisner Auditorium - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

My third David Garrett concert in the DC area; he has grown as a performer and keeps the audience mesmerized. I first saw him on PBS and immediately purchased a ticket to see him at the Birchmere in Alexandria...Each show has been different and exciting...Let's thank David for continuing to be innovative, showing us the love and for lovingly sharing his brilliance. LOVE HIM TO DEATH -- especially his spontaneous Coldplay rendition!!!!!
