About

David Copperfield on Tour

A living legend who sells out arenas around the globe when not at the Las Vegas theater that bears his name, David Copperfield is one of the most revered and successful performers in the history of show business. Over the course of his six-decade career, the master magician has sold more tickets than any other solo entertainer, including Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley.

David Copperfield's passion for magic, ingenuity as an innovator and ability to astonish are all trademarks of a career that has included Emmy-winning television specials, hit Broadway productions and countless performances. Among his spectacular and iconic feats are walking through the Great Wall of China, making a seemingly impossible escape from Alcatraz prison and — in what was called the Illusion of the Century — causing the Statue of Liberty to disappear in front of a live audience on Liberty Island and millions of TV viewers worldwide.

Viewers can experience his unique brand of magic and storytelling in David Copperfield: An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusions, an entertaining and engaging showcase of his art and craft featuring illusions that often take years to develop and perfect. Widely acclaimed as the greatest illusionist of our time, he continues to wow audiences on his world tours and at his shows inside the David Copperfield Theater at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Who is David Copperfield?

David Copperfield's career in magic began when he was 10 years old, performing in his New Jersey neighborhood as Davino the Boy Magician. By the age of 16, he was a member of the Society of American Magicians and teaching magic at New York University.

Copperfield's decades-long string of top-rated, Emmy-winning television specials began in 1977, where he performed his unprecedented feats and illusions before TV audiences.

When not performing live at such storied locations as the White House and in his own Broadway productions, Copperfield has shared his signature combination of storytelling, stagecraft and magic with audiences worldwide. First presented in 2003, David Copperfield: An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusion toured venues and sold-out arenas across the US and the world. It regularly runs at the David Copperfield Theater at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

    Amazing

by Darth Vader on 9/9/23David Copperfield Theater at MGM Grand Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

we were seated in the middle of the secondary show row. what I mean is he did a large portion of the show directly in front of us. we were absolutely blown away and amazed by the illusions trickery and very pleasantly pleased with his very humorous mannerisms. he performs this show 500 times a year. it absolutely shows as he rushed some of the act to keep pace. but we are extremely well versed in the live show act. All in all it was truly a breathtaking visually stunning belly laughing entertaining evening. two thumbs up a must-see.... by the way he's a fellow New Jersey native...

    Incredible Illusions!

    by TMA2ZReview on 9/1/23

First time seeing him live! Not only were the illusions performed on stage, but also in the audience! The entire show was built around David’s personal life story encouraging everyone to live out their dreams! Totally amazed at the range of illusions which left us mesmerized! A great family experience!

    Weird dude

    by Chris on 8/23/23

Extremely odd show. Not a lot of magic. Weird storytelling and a lot of connections to the dead. Would avoid if you’re looking for entertainment.

    Meh.

    by TVG on 8/13/23

Meh. Is my basic review. The show had a few wow moments but way too much fluff. Half the show was based on a little talking alien storyline and really pretty boring. I’d opt for a different magic show in Vegas.

    Not for children

    by BrockPurdy on 8/12/23

The show was slow and dated. David needs to think about retiring. We had our 7 and 10 year old with us and they were bored with the storyline leading up to the illusions. Plus, he played videos during the show, which I’m not a fan of when you’re paying all this money to see the headliner. If you’re looking for a good show with the family, I would pass on David Copperfield. Now make this review disappear David.

    Disappointing

    by Just Me on 8/1/23

Got to see Copperfield in the late 90's/early 2000 in Vegas and he was absolutely amazing. High-energy, active show with tremendous stage presence. This time his show was just mediocre, especially if you had seen him in the past.

It was underwhelming… a few of his tricks were impressive but other than that I wasn’t overly excited by the show.

Brought me back to my childhood

    by Melissa on 7/28/23

The show was amazing! Left the show wondering how did he do that. Reminded me of when my best friend and I would have sleepovers and watch his specials on T.V. Alot of audience interaction and he adds comedy in too. Overall, if you ever thought about whether to see him or not, he's wonderful and you won't regret it.

Not good - a long way from his past greatness

    by GPS on 7/27/23

The show was very strange. He looked like he was performing in rote, never getting excited or into the act. He used to be energetic and entertaining, but that was when I saw him 30 years ago. He has gone way down hill since then. Some of the magic acts were still great, but few and far between. He tried to weave in a long story about an alien which just wasted a lot of time. Some acts were so bad we just had to laugh, at him not with him. There were 12 of us at the show and we all felt the same. His facial expressions were bland, like he was bored. I think that says enough. I would not recommend the show. Suggest you go see an up and coming magician that is more hungary to entertain and prove his merit!!!!

    A bit disappointing

    by Danish tourist on 7/21/23

Positives: lots of interaction with audience. Intimate theaterroom, 4 big classic illusions Negatives: A lot of talking, felt a bit like a routineact, a bit slow at times. Very sentimental with too much background stories. Magic was to small a part of the total showtime.

    Lukewarm

    by Keye76 on 7/12/23

While there were a few Ahhh moments that left you puzzled the overall show was just ok. Some of the acts seemed more for kids and the overall show energy level was meh.

    Amazing!

    by Baboy Ako on 7/10/23

David Copperfield was truly amazing. His performance took place in a fairly-small venue that held, maybe, 750 people, but that just made his show better. He interacted with the audience throughout the show so you never knew who would be singled out. What made it even more fantastic, is that stuff would appear, literally, right above the audience's heads. I'm sure if we stood up we could touch the stuff it was so close, yet we had no idea how it could get there. He has lost none of his talent as he's aged, and his experience is only making him better. Go! Watch him!

    Amazing show!

by JimB on 6/25/23David Copperfield Theater at MGM Grand Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

I've loved magic all my life and this was a birthday present to myself. I understand how illusions work and was a theater major before switching to engineering. I technically perfect show and I was left with " I know what had to happen to make the illusion but HOW DID HE DO THAT". And to meet him after was a perfect birthday!

by Barlab66 on 6/9/23David Copperfield Theater at MGM Grand Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

I saw David in the 90’s at the fox in Atlanta and went again in Vegas this week. Still a great entertaining show! My son and his gf and my husband had never been to his show and are still talking about it.

    Underwhelming!

    by DK on 6/2/23

Saw DC in 2007 in Vegas and he looked tired and bored throughout the show, clearly not much has changed sadly. Think he is overworked in Vegas.
