DAVID COOK IN CONCERT:

American Idol winner and platinum-selling alt-rock crooner David Cook continues to prove he's a cut above the rest with unparalleled energy and first-rate showmanship on tour. The seasoned performer is no stranger to jaw-dropping performances, and he consistently pulls out the big guns in concert, wowing fans with his impressive pipes and emotional torch songs like "Light On" and "Permanent". Whether he's lending his unforgettable voice to favorites from his 2011 album This Loud Morning or reprising popular cover tunes from his Idol days, Cook is a larger-than-life performer who always delivers the goods at his must-see live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Texas-born, Missouri-raised David Cook began singing in early childhood and took up the guitar at age 13. At 15 he had formed the band Axiom with his high school friend Bobby Kerr. Cook released three albums with the band before moving to Tulsa, OK, where he self-released his solo debut album Analog Heart in 2006. The following year he accompanied his brother to an American Idol audition as a spectator, but ended up trying out himself after a producer noticed him. The The judges were duly impressed and invited him to Hollywood, where he went on to win the show. Following his victory he shattered a Billboard record by landing 11 songs on the Hot 100 chart simultaneously -- the previous record holder was Miley Cyrus, who had 6 concurrent songs on the chart in 2006. Cook made his major label debut on RCA in 2008 with a self-titled album that peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and his success continued in 2011 with his sophomore album This Loud Morning -- another Top 10 hit thanks to hit singles like "The Last Goodbye" and "Fade into Me". A passionate performer known for his energy and authenticity, Cook continues to captivate ticket buyers on tour.

  • AWESOME ENTERTAINMENT

by Sassy Sandy on 9/10/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Another fantastic show from Mr. Cook and his AMAZING Band! Dave sang a variety of songs from his collection, a few "mashups"and covers, and two songs from his new EP "The Hero". I love the song "Rendezvous"and "Dead Weight". I am a HUGE fan and have seen him numerous times since he won American Idol. I also had the pleasure of meeting him and engaging with him during concerts. He's a good guy, true performer and shares stories about his life and experiences with the audience; and is also quite the comedian! What's cool about this tour, the band leaves the stage and Dave sings "The Time of My Life"and "Light On"a capella so you clearly hear how talented he is! Only thing that was disappointing was that the show was only about 1:15 minutes, I would have happily paid more to hear him sing longer! Here's to hoping next time we meet!

  • GREAT SMALL VENUE CONCERT

by Adam M. on 9/7/25Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

David Cook did an amazing job both singing and sharing his story with fans. Musically, David was spot-on. He sounded AMAZING!!! As a person and artist, David really opened up about himself with everyone. He shared his story from growing up through American Idol to where he is today. It was definitely a privilege to have been able to attend such an amazing event. I hope David continues touring like this. Please never give up on small venue concerts!

  • Incredible experience

by Marie R on 8/23/25Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been to many David Cook concerts over the last 17 years, but this was my first solo acoustic show of his. I have always loved his full-band shows, but this acoustic performance was something special. When it’s just the Aristide, a mic and the audience, a unique connection happens. The intimate venue seemed to give David a chance to make this show something personal—lots of stories, many laughs, a number of personal moments gave the audience a sense of just sitting in on a casual evening with a fine musician. David sounded incredible, even with some allergy/cold issues he shared at the start of the show.

  • Great live show

by Mark on 6/11/25Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Only my 2nd time seeing David Cook and he doesn't disappoint. Great live performance and stays upbeat. He is consistent and connects with the audience. The only wish I had was a request from audience, I would've totally tipped for him to sing his cover of "Always be my baby". I'm so happy that I was able to meet him & have a selfie taken to remember it. Totally worth my time and money! Til next time.

David and his band gave a great performance. Great mix of new and old songs and the crowd really appreciated it. Very talented band and David’s voice was fantastic. On top of the great music, he’s funny as hell. We had so much fun. If you get the chance to see him live- Go!

  • Cool venue with a great VIP lounge

by J. R. on 6/14/23House of Blues Myrtle Beach - North Myrtle BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Traveled to see David Cook at this venue. He never disappoints! Nice meet n greet experience but unclear information given from venue reps about the availability of tables and what extras you had paid for. The rating is for the performer, not the venue.

  • Rocking Saturday Night

by Stone4321 on 6/13/23House of Blues Myrtle Beach - North Myrtle BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Cook put on a high energy show with his band. It was nice to hear some real rock again, especially the hard hitting arrangement of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer, along with a range of other tunes he's written since he was last here. The show ended with a bit of audience participation for his new tune, Fire, which was a fun way to close it out. Hope he and his band come back soon. The House of Blues VIP extras were a little hard to figure out, but overall, it was a great night.
