Seeing Bromberg is a great experience. His mix of artistry and humor is second to none . Definitely worth a look !!
Loved Bromberg and his band. Had never heard him before. Real pros. Love the trading of solos. A man should never gamble was a phenomenal highlight. Trumpet player spoke to my heart. Los Lobos were awesome as well. Loved the guitar melodies. So glad they did mas y mas! Was waiting all night for that one. And the drummer... Wow! Snare was crisp, bass was booming. He was amazing. Great show!
UPAC theatre in Kingston NY, as always parking was a problem. It’s an old theatre but nostalgic.
The voice, the talent, the songs...if you ever loved David Bromberg's music, you still will!! <3
Very disappointed in the venue. Poor sound mixing. Very hot and uncomfortable. Will not return.
I hadn't seen Bromberg for about 5 years. I have followed him since the early 70s. All his original bandmates are gone and it shows. Most of the playlist were slow lumbering songs. None of the band really stood out. It wasn't until he did Sharon that they really got going. They did one more song with the lead guitarist from Los Lobos. He shined. Think this will be the last time I will see the band.
2 good sets of live music performed by talented musicians !
this was my first time seeing David Bromberg and I haven't been to the NYCB Theatre in quite a while....well I was blown away by both!! first off - David Bromberg - WOW - I can't wait to see him again...and I will....now the theatre...wow again -- our seats were not a boatload of money and they were GREAT! we definitely will be back to see other artists/shows.
The crowd was very old, which maybe influenced David's slow & mellow song choices. We saw people falling asleep in their chairs. Loslobos is usually upbeat & dancable, they were just ok. I like to hear a spanish tune from them here & there, but not almost the entire show. Loslobos stage time was short, maybe 55 mins. Not happy.
played his usual various esoteric set, dapping in blues, country in what they call Americana music. He gave way more to his back up musicians to solo. Wished he played a little more blues like his last tour.
Since when does the headliner open the show? Been to this venue before and never had an issue, now there's no leg room in the seats. Won't be returning, EVER.
So happy he's touring again. Still great and fun as always.
Super enjoyable evening. David Bromberg and his band were superb as always and Jordan Tice was a nice surprise. All super talented musicians in a wonderfully intimate venue.
What can I say, wonderful night hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Great musician. Eclectic music. Talented band. Fun show.
David has a unique way of connecting with his seasoned audience. Everyone in the room feels like they're "in on it". Finishing this show with a powerful and truly soulful instrumental take on Somewhere Over the Rainbow left us all with a special, warm feeling. Thanks to the Birchmere!
David Bromberg and his band were excellent! The collective talent of those five guys in the band was amazing. Loved every second of it!!! Well with the drive up to Tahoe!
David Bromberg is mellower now. Not the hyper showman of the shows I saw in Chicago over 30 years ago when he toured with a wonderful and diverse 9-man band and went more for the energetic comic twist. He's always been a great guitarist (If he's good enough to record with Dylan, he's good enough for me.). But the Dave Bromberg Quintet is as good as it gets. When a guitarist of David's stature tells you that the guy on stage with him (Mark Cosgrove) is the best guitarist up there, it's a compliment indeed, and well earned. And Nat Grower, who looks like a young roadie, plays a masterful violin/fiddle (and even a little guitar himself). The drummer and bass player lay down a solid line for the band to follow, and the drummer supplies an occasional bass voice when needed. This band does not play a set play list, just what works each night, so no two shows are the same. And David's distinctive voice and stage presence (And wow, that guitar work!) make this a must see band.
david is one of the most unique musicans around today!
