About

Since first stepping into the pop spotlight at age 17, David Archuleta has embodied the kind of genuine star power that can't be manufactured. After years of dazzling audiences with his radiant personality and phenomenal voice--a journey that's included turning out multiple platinum-selling hits, achieving global acclaim as a captivating live performer, and emerging as an undeniable fixture on the pop-culture scene--the Miami-born singer/songwriter experienced a major personal transformation that radically altered his identity as an artist. As shown in his singles "Creme Brulee" and "Hell Together," Archuleta has dramatically expanded the landscape of his songwriting and devoted himself to making pop music with equal parts uncompromising emotion and exhilarating impact.

  • David was awesome as usual!

Took my mom and mom-in-law and they both had a great time. This was my third time seeing David and he gets better and better by the show. Will catch him next time he's in town without a doubt!

  • Awesome show!

Very, very, very outstanding, perfect performance once again by David. The set list was well put together. I wished the show would go on forever.

Benton Paul as the opening band was great. The energy was spectacular. David was adorable but that only goes so far. The quality of the show left much to be desired. There was either a mike problem or a problem in the execution of using the mike. His entire performance was garbled. Not a professional sounding show. I left disappointed.

My husband and I went to the concert together to enjoy a night out. I couldn't of been more pleased. David's arrangement was perfect starting with the songs from his first album and then the second half songs off the Christmas album. His voice was so smooth and powerful. This is my 5th time seeing David in concert. I can't wait for the next concert. I always walk out with such a wonderful feeling over taking me. He's so inspirational and down to earth. What a wonderful gift he has. So glad he is sharing it with all of us.

  • Poor David picked the wrong sound people

    by Leslie244 on 12/12/09Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 2 out of 5

The sound was AWFUL. Way too much base and not enough David. He has such a strong and fabulous voice, however, the music which was marginal at best totally drowned him out. The price of the ticket was outrageous consdiering the lack of "show." Paid almost the same for Taylor Swift and the show itself was awful for the money. David has a strong and wonderful voice and did a good job with what he had to work with which was a DATED, POOR presentation of what he is capable of. If he wants to be successful he should hire people that know how to put on a show and check the quality of sound. Yikes! Had to take two advil and leave early.

  • David Archuleta was OUTSTANDING!

My 25 year-old daughter and I drove just 20 minutes to the beautiful, historic Genesee Theater in Waukegan, IL. We looked forward to this performance as soon as we heard he was coming to town. Having not seen David perform since Idol days, it was a real treat to hear the maturity and strength in David's voice. He is learning how to command the stage and put his own personality and character into his vocal performances ... and doing quite well in developing a style of his own. I was very glad to see that David is just as likeable and engaging as he was when I saw him last. He's still David -- that kind, gentle, happy and lovable guy, that just happens to be uber talented! From the moment he ran onto the stage, smiling and waving at his adoring fans, his positive energy, confidence and interest in pleasing his audience was evident. It was wonderful to hear him talk between songs -- sharing his life in a characteristically humble way. His self-realization that his talent is a gift from God and meant to be shared, makes him even more endearing. I appreciated his encouragement to give to the needy, especially at this time of year. His vocals were powerful and each one delivered excitement or close-your-eyes-and-soak-it-in moments or the comfort of meaningful seasonal favorites ... and each one made us love him even more. All in all -- a fantastic performance that will be long remembered! I look forward to seeing Davaid again soon, and watching his singing career continue to soar in the years ahead. (NOTE: The sound system at the Genesee Theater was awful! There were points in David's performance that were nearly ruined by the poor sound quality.)

  • David Archuleta in Chicago

    by DMarie77 on 12/12/09Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

He put on another great concert! It is a bit unfortunate that his young fans were disrespectful when he tried to talk to the audience :(. He is such a great singer and he clearly enjoys entertaining his fans!

  • FANTASTIC CONCERT

by jantc on 12/12/09Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

David Archuleta is amazing in concert! His wonderful voice just gives you chills. The first half of the concert is pop music, and he works his little behind off, jumping around on the stage and singing great, catchy tunes. Once in a while he slows it down, and sings a delightful ballad. What a spectacular voice! The best is Zero Gravity, a song he wrote himself that didn't make it on the CD - why I have no idea - it is a GREAT song. The crowd is literally jumping and dancing and screaming through the entire song! Then he comes out for the second half to sing Christmas songs, and if you were wondering if his voice was THAT good - now you KNOW. It is! He blows the crowd away with all of his Christmas renditions, especially Ave Maria and O Holy Night (the encore). Best concert ever!!!

  • David Archuleta was just amazing!

My daughter and I went to the show last night and we were just blown away by him! He has a voice from the heavens, and I could have listened to him forever! It was the 1st night of Hanukkah for us and to listen to his really unusual Christmas selections was just beautiful! I cannot wait to see him again!

  • What a wonderful show!

    by KLS5 on 12/12/09Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

It is at times like this that I wish I were a better writer, so that I could convey the incredible joy that this event brought to my family. The opening act was very very very good, which was such a pleasant surprise. And when David came on stage, it was magical. He sang a number of his popular tunes, and then transitioned into Christmas music. His voice was incredible, and the joy on his face as he performs the songs is magical. There was truly a smile on every audience member's face the entire time he performed. David is such a loveable and energetic performer, and compassionate as well, speaking about charities such as the Make-A-Wish foundation. I am so glad that I took my family to see this show, and it was worth the money, the hour long drive, fighting the bitter cold... all of it to kick off our holiday season in such a wonderful way! Merry Christmas!

by ChristmasBridge on 12/12/09Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

I am so glad we attended the concert. The program was more than we had expected with the background and lighting. David Archuleta is an absolutely amazing singer and the audience was very receptive of him. Good mix of pop and Christmas music that was enjoyed by the young and older adults in the audience. Great performer.

  • David Archuleta ROCKS!!!

David Archuleta is THE BEST!!! He is so talented and so humble. He still seems a bit nervous talking in front of large groups, but this was the best concert my wife and I have ever been to. It was worth the drive in bad weather!

  • David Delivered a Christmas Delight

by IdolFan52 on 12/9/09The Midland by AMC - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

For one so young, David's voice is amazing. His first set of Pop/Dance/Contemporary music was great, and he sounded as good or better than his CD. His second set was a combination of songs from his Christmas CD, and he led off with the wonderful Melodies of Christmas. Awesome vocals on Ave Maria and Silent Night, and beautiful The First Noel, and very cool renditions of Peta Pan and Riu Chiu. The sound was great, his band and orchestra strings were excellent, and he, as always, was humble with heartfelt engagement with the fans. While the Midland is a very cool theater, fans standing disrupt the ability of those in the back of each staggered section to see through them to the frort, especially when you take younger kids and there are older teens or adults standing in front. And there were too many fans with recording devices.
