About

DAVE KOZ IN CONCERT:

When Dave Koz takes the stage, all is quiet as the audience intently listens to every pure note from the seasoned saxophonist. Playing both tenor and alto sax, his fingers glide across the instrument with an ease that can't be matched. Whether he's performing chart-topping hits like "Life In the Fast Lane" and "Put the Top Down" or launching into an epic solo, Koz's grace on the woodwind instrument is exceptional, full of trills, thrills, and spontaneity during his hit-filled set lists. Dave Koz returns to the stage in 2014 for his upcoming Summer Horns tour as well as a string of highly anticipated shows with Barry Manilow.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Starting out in his high school's jazz band, Dave Koz fell in love with the saxophone early on, deciding to pursue music full time after graduating from college. He landed on tour with Bobby Caldwell not long after and served as a studio musician in the '80s before launching his breakout solo career. Since then, Koz has released 15 studio albums — eight of which have reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Jazz chart — and four No. 1 jazz singles. Not only is the nine-time Grammy nominee a sensational saxophonist, but he's also a radio personality, television host, and philanthropist, serving as a Global Ambassador for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Koz will delight fans with his smooth jazz sounds on his upcoming tour dates.

  • NOW i'm feeling Christmas!

by grizzer on 12/17/17Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

We enjoyed the Dave Koz christmas concert in San Diego. It was an amazing showcase for some very talented musicians. The vibe was warm and welcoming from start to finish. The pace was perfect, arrangements perfect, and all in all we left completely satisfied. Rick Braun is a absolute master on anything brass, and has a lovely voice as well. They had us rockin' in there at times! A lovely Christmas PLUS concert! Don't miss it!

    by ParkerM2 on 12/17/17Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This was the most entertaining show, I have seen this year. The variety of music was outstanding. They even danced, engaged the audience, had wardrobe changes and they shared lots of stories. Many thanks to Dave Koz, Rick Braun, David Benoit, Peter White, Miss Salena Albright, Brian Simpson and all the musicians that made this event unforgettable. I hope to see you in 2018.

  • El Paso Tradition

by BELPASO on 12/15/17The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5

We have been going to Dave's Christmas show for so many years it has become a Christmas tradition for our family. Each year, Dave offers something truly new and unexpected and the show leaves one impressed and wanting for more. This year was very definitive of Dave's musical prowess as a jazz player as he went back to his roots. When he gathered back together the original band to play this year's Christmas show, the chemistry just blew me away. It was jazz the way I like it at the very best - very GRPish. As the past years saw each of these artists mature in their musical style and craft, listening to them play together was pure joy. For me it was a great expression of what Christmas is all about - peace, harmony, joy and celebration. The musical arrangements of each song were so creatively done for each instrument, yet all throughout, there was a common thread that was expressive of the band's signature. The show had a storyline that invited the audience into a closer bond with the band. The next day, I happen to watch a few minutes of the Gwen Stefani Christmas show on Hulu TV. I realized how much greater Dave's Christmas show is. See you all in 2018 at Dave's 21st Christmas Celebration Show!

The 20th anniversary show was a treat. For our family this show has become a part of our tradition. It is a celebration of Christmas and is a beautiful display of talent. Rick Braun was great and entertaining. However, Salina Albright is a star, listen to her music. Can’t wait until next year. Thank you, Dave for so many years of good times.

I have gone to this event for several years. I was disappointed that Jonathan Butler was left off and all white males instead.
