An intimate and personal evening that gave us a window into the soul of a modern day Renaissance Man.
I was sitting in the 2nd row almost dead center. I was so happy to be in those seats because not only could I hear Dave's story telling - but i could see the emotion behind it. It never felt pretentious - just REAL. So much resonated with me when i relayed it to my own life. I LOVE and LIVE for experiences.... I've had so many of my own... and because of that, I genuinely feel the passion and high from hearing about other peoples experiences. So this 3 hour experience was over the top for me. Not only was I seeing one of my favorite musicians in my OWN experience, I was learning all about his. I loved it so much - I would see it over and over and over again and still have a good time. I could feel my heart just rooting for him in every story he told.
This was a personal experience that was shared with thousands of strangers. Dave is true entertainer who real with how his life played out.
I have see the Foo Fighters over 15 times and nothing compared to this. Dave Grohl is an amazing storyteller. I went through every emotion possible. I hope anyone who has a love for Dave like I do gets to see this. Absolutely amazing.
Words can’t describe…concerts are great, but this was something once in a lifetime. If more of these Storyteller events are added get yourself a seat, no matter the cost.
This was an amazing evening of stories and music based on Dave’s new memoir. I love the intimate setting of Town Hall in NYC. It is a night I’ll never forget!
I really had no expectations prior to the show. I was completely blown away. Dave was absolutely awesome. He told stories ranging from his time in Scream to his time in Nirvana with Cobain. He played some Foos songs and a Nirvana tune.
Once in a lifetime, life changing - this was wonderful. I would do it again and again if I could.
This was soul feeding. His stories made us laugh and cry. The music gave us goosebumps. Will never forget.
Great show for a great cause. Thanks Dave Grohl for an awesome show. What a fantastic and creative way to support this special place for children.
Such a wonderful event!!! All of the performers were great, we love Dave Grohl but have to say his daughter Violet stole the show - what a voice!!!!!! She’s my new favorite singer!
Event was amazing, the program was very well put together. Staff at venue was extremely helpful and nice.
Notes and Words was an incredible event. Normally go to regular concerts but this was a wonderful time. Will definitely plan to go again. Dave Grohl was great as always and it was super cool to see his daughters preform with him. That made the night!!!
As a serious Nirvana and Foo Fighters fan, it was a dream come true to see the powerful charisma and musical talent of David Grohl and his two daughters. The smaller venue, even from the “commoner” seats high in the balcony, enabled me and my date to observe his humor, humanity, love for family, and talent. While I consider Pat Smear’s guitar work the essence of the Foo Fighters unique driving sound, seeing David Grohl performing solo and acoustic reaffirmed he is the beating heart of the group and an extraordinary talent within his own right. I was impressed with the power of his voice and the pleasure of even his “screamer”: Times Like These. His older daughter has the same power in her own voice and clearly stunned the crowd with her talent. The humility and pride of her father playing guitar in backup was evident. The Fox is stunning, but being 6’3” with a 6’1” girlfriend, the cramped seats were painful.
Beautiful venue, great cause! Many in the audience were there to see Dave Grohl, and he did not disappoint! But as everyone now knows, his daughter Violet stole the show by crushing an Adele song, accompanied by her very proud papa! It was a most special night that will never be forgotten!
