    Attell was Outrageous

by dynaboy100 on 10/13/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

My wife and I absolutely loved Dave's performance. We were already fans of Dave Attell, and have some of his other material. I was glad this wasn't just a recap of some other stuff he did. He related his act with the audience and involved us. I'm glad, in this age of political correctness, that some comedians aren't afraid to get a rise out of the audience. He was bold, brash, loud, and filthy. And that's a great thing.

    Dave was Awesome!!

by 1CrazyLady on 10/12/09The Pageant - St Louis

I had a little too much fun. Double rum and cokes. Dave was awesome, our group of 4 had a great time. We had great seats, the little bar rail in front of us which was cool. I was glad that we didn't have front row center seats, looked like it woud have been uncomfortable. I enjoyed several drinks during the show, a little disappointed that I missed parts of the show to sneak in a cigg. I wish Dave's middle name was "Pageant" as he mentioned during the show and put out his cigg. All in all we had a great time.

Dave needs a break from the road

by insanityltd on 10/12/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

Dave has never been known as a high-energy act, but he seemed like he was phoning most of this act in. He looked like he had just spent way too much time on the road and a long-needed break was what he needed. He even just seemed to lose his way in many sections of his act and just sat there on a few occasions and chuckled to himself almost like he was thinking "Please God, just let me get through this one more performance." Kelly Price was funny, but someone needed to adjust the PA for a female voice since it was so shrill it seemed like fingernails on a blackboard for most of her act. The venue is in definite need of a renovation and a serious cleaning overall. Although smoking has been prohibited for almost 18 months, most of the place had the stench of stale tobacco. Even Attell mentioned that it looked like the place was haunted and how the venue was one of the worse condition venues that he had booked. I would love to see these comedy acts in a better venue and a bigger location than the Funny Bone.

    Attell Is AMAZING!!!

by MrHonda on 10/12/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

I've been to comedians. George Carlin, Patton Oswalt.... but Dave Attell takes the cake. Non-stop laughter from open to close. New material also, so Dave was extra good. His opener, Kelly Pryce was hilarious and Dave and Kelly hung around after the show and met with us die-hards. A Great show. Would Recommend to anyone.

Hate to do this because we really like him.

by Danibo on 10/12/09The Pageant - St Louis

I hate to do this, but hopefully it helps make a difference. We absolutely LOVED watching Dave Attell on Comedy Central on his show Insomniac. We really anticipated this event, not to mention we probably didn't need to spend the money that we did with funds being tight, but I assumed get them since it was a birthday present and I really felt like there was no way that we would be let down. His opening acts were absolutely horrible, I felt like I was listening to a PG comedian first then after him someone who cursed just to be funny, again not funny, must be used with funny context. Honestly, I would not recommend seeing this. Big let down. I hope this was just a bad night for all of them, because I can only reference how much we really enjoy his comedy.

    Hilarious!

by Sith on 10/12/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

I laughed so hard I cried. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed by Dave Attell and I was right. His opening act, Kelly Price, was hilarious as well. Highly recommend seeing them!

    Attell delivers again!

by CreamofSumYungGuy on 10/12/09HOYT SHERMAN PLACE - Des Moines

It'd been a few years since I'd heard or seen anything about Dave Attell but he has always been a favorite of mine, so when I heard he was going to be in town I pounced on the tickets. I hoped he would still be the same funny guy I remembered, that it'd be of the same caliber of low-brow humor that made me appreciate his comedic style in the first place. I can honestly say, I was NOT disappointed! Dave's show covered a variety of topics, everything from politics, to religion, to relationships, but after those 5 minutes, it was largely c**k and pu**y jokes where Attell really shines, with the occasional salting of questions to the ladies in the audience about their sexual preferences and their "reset button". Dave's set wrapped up with a little interaction with the audience, asking for people to call out their drinks and then telling them how their night was going to end...I always appreciate it when a comic actually interacts with the audience like this, it makes the show seem more personal somehow. And Dave makes the whole thing look effortless. All in all it was an excellent show and Dave was definitely worth seeing! One thing to keep in mind: Dave is definitely not for everyone, but if you can appreciate comments like, "Sex is not important. What's important is that afterward part, when you're both naked and it's warm and you're watching the sun come up thru the windshield. You look in her eyes...you look in her one good eye...and help her strap on her leg and you know...you just f**ked a pirate", then you'll love Dave Attell.

i thought the venue was awesome. first time i've been to the pagaent. we were really looking forward to seeing him. loved everything we have seen of him on tv. thought that he pretty much gave up half way through and started talking to the audience about drinks. extremely dissapointing.

    Not Too Bad

by Anonymous on 10/11/09The Pageant - St Louis

The show was good. I laughed a lot. The first act was a local comedian and he was awesome. He started slow but once he got into it, I wished he hadn't stopped. I also wish I could remember his name... *blush* The second act was some women. She I could have done without. I laughed once or twice, but she was trying way too hard to be vulgar and dirty. There was just too much out of it out of the box, so when something she said would have normally been funny, I was already numb to the dirtiness of her act and it didn't shock me into laughing. Dave Attell did a great job. He started strong and was very funny throughout. Things did get a little slower at the end when I felt he was reaching to fill up time with "Watcha Drinking?" jokes. Overall, a good show. I was entertained. :)

Dave could not have been better Hillariouis

by KenNChristy on 10/11/09The Pageant - St Louis

If you think Dave was great on Insomniac, you haven't seen how funny he is yet. Dave Pulls no punches & works the crowd well, we laughed through the entire show. Dave is a genuinely funny comic who doesn't rely on shock factor to keep his audience's attention. Don't get me wrong, Dave doesn't toe the morality line, he jumps over it repeatedly, he just doesn't use it as a crutch. Many comics say "I'll see you after the show", then you see them hocking cd's trying to move you along like cattle. Dave was came outside after about 10 minutes & just hung out with everyone. We were outside with the crowd for about 10 minutes, shook everyone's hand, took pictures with us, just a nice genuine guy. We left and walked a long way to our car & passed the Pageant leaving, Dave was still hanging out with fans. I would recommend seeing Dave to anyone.

    Seemed unprepared

by asldf on 8/21/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

the guy before him was a lot funnier. I've seen Dave Attell before and he was hilarious, this flopped. His routine was real disconnected, same old jokes, he knew he didn't do well, not a lot of laughs.

    Best Show since Carlin

    by Mike444 on 8/18/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Dave Attell was hilarious when I saw him in Boston. He did all new material, not even material from his most recent special. Was on point with jokes and improv. Finished off show with his awesome pick a drink and he'll tell you how your ends routine. Best show I have been to since Carlin!

    Atell Never Disappoints

by PebblesPinelands on 8/18/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

As Dave said: he "likes to work for laughs"! This show was at 7:30 PM, and the venue did not serve alcohol. Could have been a tough crowd, but, of course - Dave was outrageous and hilarious!

    Attell was good

    by jon2 on 8/17/09Wilbur Theatre - Boston

This is the second time we saw Dave. We saw him at the old Comedy Connection location in Fanuille Hall about 3 years ago. I think he was funnier the first time but I'm not sure if it was the fact that it was the first time seeing him live or the material or presentation was superior. He also had a great opener named Nick (somebody) who did an awesome job.
