About

Dashboard Confessional on Tour

Expect robust crowd participation when seeing Dashboard Confessional, a band that sonically splits the difference between R.E.M.-like jangle-rock and moodier emo-pop. The group favors cathartic songwriting full of deep, meaningful lyrics, ensuring that beloved singles such as "Screaming Infidelities" and "Vindicated" draw loud audience sing-alongs.

Early in their career, Dashboard Confessional toured with like-minded peers Weezer and Brand New, while in 2007 they went on the Rock Band Live Tour with Panic! at the Disco. In recent years, Dashboard Confessional have toured with Third Eye Blind and, in 2020, launched a 20th anniversary tour celebrating their vast catalog.

Dashboard Confessional in Concert

Chris Carrabba initially started Dashboard Confessional as a solo acoustic project when he was still fronting another band, the Florida-based emo rock act Further Seems Forever. When the vocalist/guitarist/songwriter left that group to focus on his own music, he quickly issued the second Dashboard Confessional album, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, in 2001. That album went gold and contained the song "Screaming Infidelities," which became a Top 25 alternative radio chart hit and spawned a music video that won the MTV2 award at the MTV Video Music Awards.

From there, Dashboard Confessional was off and running. Album number three, 2003's gold-certified A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar, reached No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 and spawned the hit "Hands Down." The song "Vindicated" featured prominently in the 2004 film Spider-Man 2 and reached No. 2 on the modern rock charts. Carrabba and crew continued on a hot streak with another gold album (2006's Dusk and Summer, which also topped the U.S. Top Rock Albums chart) and more studio work. Dashboard Confessional released the studio album Crooked Shadows in 2018 and celebrated their 20th anniversary by releasing a greatest hits album, The Best Ones of the Best Ones, in 2020.

    Chris is Efffortless

    by Robby20 on 12/7/09Glass House - Pomona

Second time I have seen Dasshboard, and longtime fan. My girlfriend loves Chris, she has been hooked since the first time I played them for her. Chris puts on a great performance, but I think in the little venues, and I did enjoy the Glass House, he lets the audience give to much feedback verbally. When he was talking to the audience, some of them were saying things just to get attention. It seemed like when Chris realized this he held back a little. And he is such a great performer, effortless, that I don't want anything to hold him back. See you in Anaheim.

He sounded better live than on the cds. I now regret not going to his previous concerts when I had the chance.

    Dashboard Concert

    by xViper17 on 12/5/09Glass House - Pomona

This was my first ever concert and it was definiately a memorable one. New Found Glory played acoustic, which took some getting used to, but they weren't bad. Dashboard was amazing though, and it was totally worth the money!

    Dashboard is ALWAYS amazing!!!!

    by mizzredd78 on 12/2/09Glass House - Pomona

I was finaly able to see DC again live and was NOT disapointed. It's been about 3-4 (maybe a bit longer) years since I last got to see them and its just amazing. The last show i went to was a stadium show (non acoustic) and it was good but they really shine at an acoustic show...I don't think there are any words to describe the feeling you get from a show like this...INCREDIBLE!!! My one and only complaint is that i would have loved for a longer show...they played for about an hour and a half. Other than that it was the best show I have been to all year!!!!!

    as impressive as ever

    by jmbacon21 on 12/2/09Glass House - Pomona

Chris Carrabba never ceases to amaze. Accompanied with guitarist, John Lefler, Dashboard Confessional provided one of the best intimate shows. They played their songs, one of Lefler's originals, and a few covers such as Ingrid Michaelson's Breakable. Opening band New Found Glory gave a surprisingly fantastic acoustic display of their usually very punk rock songs.

Forget DC it was all about New Found Glory

by BriColeBolt on 12/2/09Glass House - Pomona

New Found Glory Acoustic, or "Unplugged" was life altering. Hands down (no reference to DC song) the best show I have ever been to. I was hesitant with this being an acoustic show, if NFG could bring it and they did. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to true NFG fans. Dashboard has never been good live all the times I've had to see them as an opener so I didn't even bother sticking around because the show was over after NFG played Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire as far as I was concerned.

    Dashboard Acoustic Solo Show... Yes....

by letstakeallthenicknames on 12/2/09Glass House - Pomona

Sounded amazing, good enough view for the arrival time... who cares about NFG.... just kidding. Chris needed to dig deeper and play old stuff like pretty much everything off of "So Impossible" and "So Long Sweet Summer," but I don't think he could have picked a better opening song... tears in my eyes! <3

DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL & New Found Glory = AMAZING

by EstelaBella on 12/1/09Troubadour - West Hollywood

This show is something I have been looking forward to for a long time! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Dashboard Confessional acoustic takes me back and I love it! :) Chris Carrabba and John Lefler were flawless, allowing the audience to choose most of the set list. I honestly never wanted it to end! There was a great variety of songs performed and in usual DC fashion, audience participation was not only encouraged, but pretty much mandatory (to experience the full effect of a Dashboard concert.) This was a night I will not forget soon. It was amazing and the staff at the Troubadour were very courteous and nice to all of us. For a sold out show, it wasn't as cramped or uncomfortable as I would have thought. In addition, New Found Glory sounds pretty good acoustic. I've seen their live shows before and didn't know how this would work, without all the jumping and screaming (sorta), but this was definitely a good experience.
