About

Dashboard Confessional on Tour

Expect robust crowd participation when seeing Dashboard Confessional, a band that sonically splits the difference between R.E.M.-like jangle-rock and moodier emo-pop. The group favors cathartic songwriting full of deep, meaningful lyrics, ensuring that beloved singles such as "Screaming Infidelities" and "Vindicated" draw loud audience sing-alongs.

Early in their career, Dashboard Confessional toured with like-minded peers Weezer and Brand New, while in 2007 they went on the Rock Band Live Tour with Panic! at the Disco. In recent years, Dashboard Confessional have toured with Third Eye Blind and, in 2020, launched a 20th anniversary tour celebrating their vast catalog.

Dashboard Confessional in Concert

Chris Carrabba initially started Dashboard Confessional as a solo acoustic project when he was still fronting another band, the Florida-based emo rock act Further Seems Forever. When the vocalist/guitarist/songwriter left that group to focus on his own music, he quickly issued the second Dashboard Confessional album, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, in 2001. That album went gold and contained the song "Screaming Infidelities," which became a Top 25 alternative radio chart hit and spawned a music video that won the MTV2 award at the MTV Video Music Awards.

From there, Dashboard Confessional was off and running. Album number three, 2003's gold-certified A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar, reached No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 and spawned the hit "Hands Down." The song "Vindicated" featured prominently in the 2004 film Spider-Man 2 and reached No. 2 on the modern rock charts. Carrabba and crew continued on a hot streak with another gold album (2006's Dusk and Summer, which also topped the U.S. Top Rock Albums chart) and more studio work. Dashboard Confessional released the studio album Crooked Shadows in 2018 and celebrated their 20th anniversary by releasing a greatest hits album, The Best Ones of the Best Ones, in 2020.

    Fantastic show of classic Emo

I have seen both these bands in the last year, and this show was above and beyond the previous ones. Everyone was energetic and seemed happy to be there, and the crowd was electric

SHOW WAS AWESOME! Ticketmaster messed up time in Atlanta!

by Mer on 8/24/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

Let me just say, THE SHOW WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!! The one star has nothing to do with the show. One of the best shows I have been to in a long, long time! The bands were GREAT, so nostalgic, it was like being there with thousands of people I've never met but we were all best friends because we were all fully present, heart and soul, and absolutely loving it. That being said...the one star is because Ticketmaster and the venue (The Tabernacle) both advertised the WRONG TIMES for Doors and Start for the show!! I double, triple, quadruple checked because the opener, Cartel, is my forever favorite, have loved them since high school band AND this was their first hometown show in years! I have never been more excited for a show and mostly decided that a late Sunday night was totally worth it because of THEM! The times given were AN HOUR off! Advertised as Door at 7:00, Start at 8:00...turns out doors opened at 6:00 and started at 7:00. I got there are 7:45 thinking I was early and had missed Cartel's whole set! Thought I was losing it but then realized I was not the only one! DOZENS of people coming in with me were having the same freak out moment. There's also commentary all over the band's social media, so this affected way more than just me or a handful of people. So very disappointing and frustrated! I'm not sure how this wasn't caught!

Incredible show from Chris & Andrew!

by Tam on 8/24/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

For those of us who have grown up (and old) with these musicians, this show was the perfect ode to our younger selves. To the music that got us through, that still gets many of us through. The show was nothing short of incredible & I'd love to see these two team up again!

    Amazing Show, Venue was neat

by Anonymous on 8/24/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

Only reason for a 4 star review is that the venue air condition was not on (or at least that's how it felt) where the concert was taking place. Had to go downstairs to the bar/merch area between sets (and lose my spot) because the heat was unbearable.

    Great Show

    by Chill2492 on 8/24/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

It was awesome to see him live. The nostalgia and the fact that he got to play with his son made it something we’ll never forget.

Venue & artist = great, timing & communication = terrible

by Smiley on 8/24/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

Our tickets, LiveNation website, Ticketmaster all said Doors at 7pm, Show at 8pm. We missed the opening band (Cartel) who had not played a show in Atlanta in 7 years (we were so looking forward to it!) because we bought seat tickets and did not see a need to show up early. We walked in at 7:50 had missed Cartel and Andrew McMahon was already a few song into his set. Andrew and Dashboard Confessional were amazing, but we were so bummed to have the wrong times communicated.

This show was hands down the best day. The setlist was perfect. The energy from this band is unmatched. So much singing and dancing with the elder Emos! The venue itself was stunning. The crew was great! I wish I could relive it

Great show, but some minor inconveinences

by Steve on 8/14/22Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

    1) My wife was turned away upon entry for having a handbag that was too big (by about a centimeter). Security is important, I get it - but she checked the website ahead of time and there was no indication of purse size. 2) At the end of the night when I asked the bartender for two glasses of ice water, I was told "no" and I had to buy water in a can - for $5 each. No complaints with the performers though!

The venue is great, you have a good view from any spot. The artists were incredible and I would buy a ticket to see them again anytime. Lines for drinks were fast.
