Yes. I am a Danny Elfman uber nerd. Yes. I am a Tim Burton Uber nerd. So knowing that my review will be slightly biased. However, the sheer talent, effort and love that clearly went into making this production a reality did not go unnoticed nor unappreciated. This was not some hodge podge "lets throw this together because we can make a little bit of money" show, no it was not. Danny and Tim fans are a breed of our own as many will tell you and expect something a little different than your average concert. This brings me back to my initial point. The production team and I'm sure Danny know their audience and delivered with flying colors. Everything from the volume of the music (not too loud but certainly loud enough), to the ambiance of the venue (did not feel like I was watching from a stadium [apart from the seat]), to the crowd (frighteningly adorable, un-waveringly loyal, and by far the most unique gathering of people you will ever meet), to the lines at the bar (i got a beer in less than 2 minutes. LESS THAN 2 MINUTES!!
In conclusion. if you were not either a Danny Elfman or at the very least Tim Burton fan you most likely did not enjoy the show. Then again. It wasn't for you in the first place.
